The Rangeley Inn & Tavern

Had the pleasure of visiting this property for a second time, greeted by the owner upon check in. The rooms are renovated nicely for the historic aspect, and their care for the property shows in the smallest ways, even with boot trays provided in room. The Tavern is wonderfully decorated and plenty toasty with a cozy fireplace, with an easy short walk upstairs to the rooms yet no noise or disturbances like some other in-house bar establishments. Sometimes great hospitality simply comes down to how to improve on an originally less-than-perfect experience... which was certainly the case with this stay. Pleasant staff, close to town, and a beautifully renovated king suite made the night enjoyable. A pleasant surprise to see an electric fireplace in room which aided greatly to dry out wet/cold gear. Will certainly be returning and recommend any historic yet beautiful hospitality seekers make the trip. A picture perfect Inn on a snowy night.

My wife and I stayed here for the first time 9/29-10/1 to celebrate our anniversary. We loved it! The woman at the front desk Friday & Saturday night was so nice. The historic building was very cool and we enjoyed our renovated room. The location was perfect for walking downtown to see the lake and get drinks/dinner. We also had dinner at the Tavern - delicious! Great hikes in the area and we loved driving around on all the scenic roads. Hoping to come back this winter to ski at Saddleback! Thank you!

I've been coming here for over 25 years. Not much has changed; they've upgraded but it's still the same. Friendly service, nice rooms and people. The restaurant is also equally as good; breakfast is my favorite.

We stayed at the Rangeley Inn for 5 nights. We filled each day with hiking and photography. The Inn has a great location, central to all the activities we like. BEST - dinner at the Rangeley Inn was a great way to finish off the day. No driving around looking for a place to eat. Food and wine were good.

This was an amazing 2 night getaway for us! The staff was incredible, the location was beautiful and the grounds are so lovely. Free kayaks to use and the ducks are tame! A must if you are looking for a place to stay in town!

Amazing views for an amazing price! My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. For a very busy tourist season, it was very affordable! We had a king bed with a view of Haley Pond and a private balcony. The dining experience was also amazing with great food and coffee. They offer free kayak and canoeing on the pond as well. I highly recommend this inn for your stay in Rangeley!

Stayed two nights here for a wedding. A lovely classic inn abutting the water. I enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs facing the water. The food was phenomenal. A very pleasant stay.

On a cousins getaway, we were looking for a place for dinner. This place was amazing. Great food, and between ordering and arrival of the appetizers, we were encouraged to walk down to the lakefront to see the spectacular sunset. Great variety of food choices, and excellent service.

I'm not sure which to rank first... the view, the accommodations, or the incredibly gracious staff... I will just say that my second stay was as special as my first and I hope it won't be my last. Incredibly special!

Loved our stay here for a business retreat. The adjacent building has wonderfully simple, clean, spacious rooms overlooking the lake. Listen to the bullfrogs and loons at night. The main hotel is gorgeous inside, with luxurious old time decor. The food was outstanding, great bar and superb coffee house next door.

My wife and I love this place in Rangeley village. We have had a great stay despite some rain and thoroughly enjoyed our spacious room and all of the helpful staff. Susan at the front desk was especially helpful with local information about hikes and places to go. The food has been excellent and we can personally recommend the haddock chowder, beet salad, baked haddock, nicoise salad and blueberry cobbler. We had all of the above items at least twice while here. The chef is very good and I would like to come back to taste his new menu when he completes it. We had Jerri for a server on several nights and she was observant, very friendly, personable and professional. All of the waiters were wonderful. We ate at several other places in Rangeley and Oquossoc but nothing can compare to the food that we had at the Rangeley Inn and Tavern. Every place in town is very near by and can be walked to. There is no shortage of things to do and see here. Unfortunately the Rangeley River was very high due to the rains and I was unable to wade it.

I've stayed here in the past but this visit was for dinner. There are not many choices in Rangeley this time of year, but fortunately the Inn was open. We had a very friendly waitress who was prompt and precise. I had fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese as my starter, and then enjoyed seared sesame seed and crusted rare tuna as my entree. The food was excellent and the service was equally so. The restaurant was quiet and well designed. I'll certainly go back again.

Our party of 4 had an amazing dinner at the Rangeley Tavern. The service, food, and drinks were all excellent and we’ll make it a point to be back next time we’re visiting the area. We left a valuable item there and the staff were so kind and mailed it back to us, too!

We were not able to stay in the main building because we were bring our two dogs, but the pet friendly room side of the building is also very nice. The room is spacious and the out door view from the lake is amazing. The restaurant in the main building is also very nice and the price is extremely reasonable for their beer. Staff is also very friendly and allowed me to tour around the main building which was very historical and cozy.

I booked a trip for our ski club with the Rangeley Inn. We had a fabulous stay! The Inn is beautiful and very historic. The staff and the management were a pleasure to work with. We had 31 people and arranged a sit down dinner Saturday night that was delicious. Even though I was on a trip with a group of friends, it would be a wonderful romantic getaway for a weekend. I would highly recommend the Rangeley Inn for any season.

Dropped in for breakfast— it was delicious. Their omelette was perfectly cooked and tasty and the biscuits and gravy was very different than southern biscuits and gravy but so good and maple-y. So happy to have found their great breakfast! Highly recommend. We have a cabin in the area so haven’t stayed here ourselves; but my parents have end greatly enjoyed their stay.

We stayed 5 Nights over The Holiday break. Our room was upstairs at their Haley Pond Lodge. The room was spotless on arrival! Check-in was warm and welcoming. If you are looking for trendy and plush this isn’t your place but if you want clean rooms good beds and comfortable bedding at a fair price this is the place. You can walk to everything. Short drive to saddleback for skiing. Timothy O,Neil the food and beverage director is doing a excellent job. All of Maine is experiencing staffing shortages but Tim and his staff jumped in everywhere they were needed to make it all work seamlessly. Dinner and breakfast hit the spot before and after each day of skiing! The breakfast staff greeted us with smiles and the skiing report each morning and Olivia made sure the our daily aches from skiing disappeared quickly with her excellent bartending skills. Had a great stay and can’t wait to go back.

Have dined there several times, best food in Maine. Renovated inn is handsome but I haven't stayed there (my cottage is too close to need accommodations.

Wow. Just wow. We found out that a local man purchased this Inn just a few years ago. He has been pouring time and money into the property in an effort to bring it back to its original elegance. And he's doing just that. We rolled in without reservations and got super lucky to get rooms. Such a great experience that I may come back to Rangley just to stay there.

We stayed at the Rangeley Inn last week for our 47th Anniversary and were SO pleased to be there! The room was lovely and we ate our evening meal as well as our breakfast at the Inn- both were wonderful. We were treated as welcomed guests and were even given a complementary anniversary dessert with our evening meal. We look forward to visiting again!
