Totally awesome campground and owners! They took the extra time to point out activities and areas we would be interested in visiting. Also had some awesome campfire nights with them. Beautiful facilities but still felt like you were in the wilderness. Can’t wait to go back and visit!

Loved loved loved staying here! Great sites, amazing staff, awesome camp store, super clean bathrooms. About 5 minutes outside of Millinocket and only about 25 minutes from Baxter State Park's Togue Pond Gate, it's such a perfect location to stay. I really can't say enough good things about this place and am excited to return for my next trip to Baxter! The owners are so lovely and they make you feel right at home!

Level sites, Water and 30 amp electric, HOT, FREE, CLEAN Showers, a wonderful walk through their forested campground and a peaceful quiet place close to Baxter State Park and the Katahdid National Monument Trails!
This was a great stay in Maine. We would return here in a heart beat! Be sure to book early as I imagine they fill up through the summer months. We booked our stay for early October. Perfect weather, even with the one day of rain and fog. Thank you Vicki for being a great hist and keeping everything clean and operational.

Vickie and whole staff were amazing. Great place to stay! Highly recommend this campground. The bathrooms were well maintained. The free showers can get hot enough to melt my skin! Loved staying here. I appreciate that there is strict quiet hours to sleep for hikers that have to get up early. I'm going to make this a yearly tradition and thought about booking my site now. Staying on the cabin was really nice being dry the first night it rained. Staff was knowledgeable and very respectful and friendly. Love this place and I will be back for sure!

This has been an amazing place! Stayed at a tent site, which was an easy set-up with flat spots. The service was like no other. The friendliness of staff and campers is unmatched. The entire place is clean! Pool, showers, laundry room, sites and camp store. Everything you need here or within a short distance away. Thank you for this experience!

Amazing campground! My friends got engaged and spent the night celebrating with us with smores around a campfire.

Squeaky clean Coleman camper with all the amenities one could ask for.

The latrines were surprisingly clean for the woods.

Would totally come back and do recommend to friends!

I would give this place a million stars if I could. It is a beautiful campground with many excellent rustic spots if you want to be in the wilderness and sites with electricity and water and fantastic Wi-Fi and cell service if you want to have a little wilderness but still be connected. The facilities are also very clean with wonderful showers that you don’t have to deposit quarters in. But the best thing about this campground is the wonderful people. I’m traveling with my husband, who is through hiking the Appalachian Trail. We were on week 12 of our journey. My husband was on the trail for three days when our camper van broke down and was in a remote place, not knowing anyone, and was telling the ladies my situation when I checked in. Vicky made a call and got me an appointment with a mechanic who was terrific and fixed my car. I was able to pick up my husband at the hundred-mile wilderness as planned. I did not think checking in with them that day that was even going to be a possibility, so they are absolutely amazing, kind, and generous people. It’s great in these times to see that there is still genuine kindness in the world. Please stay here.

one of the best camp place that near the baxter state park , with clean restroom provided for tent/rv travelers with affordable price. but it need to be check in from 2pm-8pm . while the environment is quite wet than expected that my tent sleeping bag get a little bit wet.
but nice camp ground anyway. which is like a private campground that is booked through the website

This campground is great for anyone with a travel trailer or camper. My family and I stayed here for a week and enjoyed every last minute.

Our children enjoyed the pool and playground.

Wendy and Marcel (the owners) were nothing but helpful to us. They recommended many different hikes and locations for kayak launches. Overall, they were just nice people.

The moose tour was awesome as well. Despite note finding a moose, the excursion took us throughout the North Woods on the Golden Road. We saw a lot of Maine’s beauty. Our children are still saying this was the best part of our trip.

Beautiful wooded campsites. Clean bathrooms and great laundry. All staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful. Firewood was delivered to our site. Owners Wendy and Marcel were the warmest, wonderful and knowledgeable people. We had a great time on the moose excursion and learned some local history as well as sighting a moose and other wildlife. Convenient to Baxter State Park, yet close enough to town for restaurants and shopping. We are already making plans for a return trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wilderness Edge Campground. Our site was #58. Amenities included bathrooms with showers, water spouts close to camp sites (safe to drink), very clean and well maintained pool, playground, office with merchandise and wood for sale. We loved how close the campground was to Baxter State Park; it made our early morning commute to Mount Katahdin very easy.

ALL of the staff we came in contact with was super friendly. We felt so welcome and happy for the duration of our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Camped 3 nights in tents in the pouring rain and unseasonably cold temperatures. Staff was helpful, friendly and fun to talk to. Sites are private and clean. Most importantly, especially on this trip, the showers were clean and water was HOT! Close to Baxter and close to town. 100% recommend! We will absolutely continue to come back for our Girls' Trips. Thank you!!

We had a great stay at Wilderness Edge during the week before Memorial Day 2022. The camp was quiet and relaxing. We got a lot of much needed rest. The staff was pleasant, accommodating, and very helpful. They answered all our questions, were clear about the camp rules, and made good suggestions for local places of interest. They also doted on our two spaniels, Hershey and Winston, which always earns extra points with us. They held our reservations for a year after I broke my leg in 2021 (which ruined our first planned trip to this camp) then remembered who we were when I called to reschedule this year. The bathhouses were also clean and well maintained. My only complaint was something the camp has no control over — the May Maine Mosquitos! If you’re coming in May/June, bring plenty of bug spray, over-the-hat mosquito nets, and a sense of humor.

Place was GREAT. Spent a week here at cabin site 45 and I was very happy. Cabin was a simple hard structure with beds and big screens (think of a big hard tent) and one night was some heavy rain and we stayed completely dry in the cabin. The bathrooms were very clean. Showers are plenty hot with good pressure. Laundry on site works nicely (be advised run the dryer on high heat if you don't want to run it again). Left stuff out while out exploring and doing other stuff and nothing was touched. Owners and staff seem to take great care of this place and it shows.

This campground is absolutely lovely. Family owned by kind people who will ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. The showers were hot, clean, and not overcrowded (I never once waited for a shower). Surprisingly, we had full cell service the entire stay (and could listen to ballgames without any buffer). Affordable and with easy access to Baxter. Thank you for making our trip enjoyable!

A wonderful campground! Wendi the owner and her staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We went on the day excursion to the Ghost Trains and it was awesome with moose and other wildlife and a great hike to the Trains. We also did the 4 hour ATV ride that was a blast. Wendi went out of her way to show us the beauty in the area and made us feel like guests not customers. The campground is quiet and the sites are large, private and well cared for. When in the area this will be our campground of choice every time!

I booked months in advance and recently stayed for a few nights at Wilderness Edge in their rental RV. I noticed right away, only having talked on the phone a couple times, the owner was really easy to work with. When we got there, we were greeted at their cute little store and escorted to our site. The RV was very clean and modern and conveniently full of anything we would need. My kids loved the pool and playground- both of which were also very clean and up to date. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet place with amenities and it is very close to Baxter State Park/ access to Katahdin day use. But next time we’re definitely booking the moose excursion!

Amazing latrines! Seriously clean and new, can't get over them.

Pool, kayaks, more!

Pristine camper caravans and well maintained sites.

Would come again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Wonderful campground! Close enough to amenities but also the wilderness & Katahdin. Spaces were pretty big, bathrooms clean, staff friendly.

We stayed 8 nights, and were treated like family by the staff. They looked forward to daily visits from our Labrador for cookie time. The campsites are clean and private, and heavily wooded. There is plenty of room to maneuver, as well. The store is well stocked and pleasant. We will absolutely return! While you are at the campfire, go to dinner at River Driver's.
