Julia Greenwald and Kati Pelletier are absolutely amazing. They know their stuff, are so comfortable to talk to, and quickly work on any issue. They’re the best medical professionals that I’ve ever been to.

I am absolutely the worst patient. Especially when it comes to dental. I love Dr CJ. He is honest, and seems to actually care for his patients. He has gone way out of his way to help me with a difficult dental issue.

I hate going to the dentist, but had a tooth ache that I put of so long it got infected and my whole head hurt, my jaw was burning ears stinging and headaches frequently, I called on a Friday and they fit me in and pulled it by the following tuesday, I can’t say enough good about this dentist, he was dead honest about the entire process and told me exactly what he was doing before or as he was doing it, not only was his patient relationship second to none but he also didn’t judge and was only looking to help. Great guy I would highly recommend!!

I had my first eye appointment with Doctor Farrell today. I was super nervous going in because I have been having so vision issues and due to various anxieties. I went in fearing the worst, and got the best. Both the technician and doctor himself were amazing. Super receptive and kind. They never downplayed any of the things I presented to them and validated the things I was experiencing. Thank you all for making my visit everything I needed it to be, I look forward to future visits!

I can’t say enough about the KVHC Pharmacy in Millinocket. They are wonderful-by far the best pharmacy I have ever used. They call about refills coming up, work to find the most cost efficient way to purchase medications, and will prepare prescriptions so quickly. They provide personal service, and quickly learned my name and the names of my children. They even deliver prescriptions! They have great saver plan as well - much better than local chain ones. Thumbs up. FYI, they now have PT, massage therapy, and eye doctor there.

I am a "white knuckle flyer" when it comes to going to the dentist. A 5-Star rating is insufficient praise of the truly outstanding (and painless!) care I received from Dr. Christopher Castonguay and his dental tech. His filling and recreation of a broken and discolored tooth was both healing and artistic! Thank you Doc for restoring my smile!

The staff here have the best disposition, even when they're swamped. It's always clean and comfortable.

I was skeptical at first. But as soon as I walked in I seen their equipment and I was amazed! It’s top of the line equipment and a very good optometrist! I’d recommend visiting to all my friends and family!

the quality of care really depends on who you get. i have had two doctors and a couple nurses be rude and ignore my identity despite me filling out paperwork about it and them acknowledging it. however, after switching to a different doctor, i have experienced excellent care. the doctor and nurses i interact with now are extremely caring, compassionate, and open minded. i highly recommend if you’re lgbt+ you switch to a different doctor if you’ve had a bad experience at this place because there can be amazing people if you look around in this health center. i’m not great with remembering names, but after switching to a different doctor, i got a different nurse who talked to me as well and she was one of the nicest people i have met in this town. if she ever looks at this review, keep up the kindness you offer the people in your life, you truly are a blessing in this world. you truly gave me hope during a really bad depressive episode.

As a new patient, I was nervous to meet a new doctor; but the receptionists are friendly and fun to chat with. They make you feel like you’ve been here a thousand times, and are able to answer all your questions. Although I have insurance, there is a $2K deductible. The receptionist offered me a form to fill out to qualify for sliding scale rates, which will save money on co-pays and deductible costs. The releases for my past doctors were very simple to fill out, I suggest picking them up and filling them out before your appointment (if you have any pre-existing conditions) but is not required. The entire office is neat, clean, and gave me a welcoming and comfortable feeling- prior to even seeing the patient rooms.
My appointment was with Dr. Roy, I could have seen the female nurse practitioner, but getting an appointment with Dr. Roy was sooner. The medical assistant called me to come back into the office. She was dressed in yellow scrubs, with fun pattern on them, but still looked professional. She took me into the room, which was small. She took my vitals, and asked me questions about my medical history. She was very respectful while asking sensitive questions and genuinely laughed with me when I answered some questions sarcastically or with a joke. She answered questions and anything she didn’t know, she didn’t hesitate to ask the doctor.
Dr. Roy knocked, he came in only after I invited him, he shook my hand and welcomed me. He also asked questions about my history, but more in-depth. He chatted with me through out the appointment about different subjects that sometimes didn’t even have to do with my medical care. That is not to say he was not thorough, because he was; but I would get side tracked (ADD lol) and he would entertain my questions or comments. He was knowledgeable, interesting, and pleasant to talk with. He did not rush through like most doctors I’ve had in the past. As it was my first visit, he ordered lab tests, which his medical assistant would draw. I am terrified of needles, and not in the way average people are. I was a bone marrow/stem cell donor when I was 12&13, and the needles they used were enormous ( I think maybe I have some PTSD). Let me be clear, this medical assistant was AMAZING!!!!! She took her time to find a vein (and I don’t have much to offer). I had 1, but she “didn’t like it” lol. I was having a mild panic attack and staring at the wall, waiting to get stabbed.... well when I looked over she already had half a vile filled up! She was so good I didn’t even feel it. To give perspective- my veins are deep, they roll, jump when I’m poked with needles, and I have extremely thick skin. Not even IV nurse’s are able to get a vein on the first try without fishing. I can not say enough about the cleanliness, ambiance and the entire team in this building.

If not for the pharmacy staff I would give a full 5 stars. My prescription went on hold. When I inquired they kept speaking in medical jargon. They gave short snappy responses, seeming annoyed when I didn’t understand what they were saying. The girls behind this window didn’t walk over to the counter, one sat in her chair, without looking over when she said “it’s on hold” and then rambled of some terms that made zero sense to me. Then as I kept asking questions to see if I needed to call my insurance, another girl voiced in a volume that seemed to echo in the waiting-room, another lady waiting next to me “what are you on MaineCare?”, which would have been humiliating for someone on mainecare, as there is a stigma attached, and I immediately felt sorry for anyone having to endure this breach of confidentiality. I explained I was not on mainecare, then they looked into my file. Again they rambled some medical jargon, seeming even more annoyed than before. I ended up just walking away to avoid further embarrassment. I saw an employee come out of the doctors office and explained my situation to her, and within a minute Dr. Roy’s medical assistant came out and provided my answers in a compassionate and knowledgeable manner.

Should not even be in business! This clinic will make elderly patients reschedule when their 10-15 minds late, but the staff are always late? It's also illegal to charge a patient a, full hour long visit when again, staff are so late, you have 20 minutes of that with them. There are few options for care up here and it's a shame that this clinic, call in the wrong prescriptions, wrong doses, and does test after test but never follows up on anything. The worst experience I've ever had after 30 years being disabled. No other clinics have ever treated you so horrible. Than when you file a complaint with the state board of Nursing, you find out a lot of doctors, nurses and staff, are addicts to drugs and or alcohol, they get slapped on the wrist while the patients still suffer! Not to mention the tax payer funded, you should be more professional. The excuse short staffed is a you problem, not a patient problem! You neglected several people that use to go here including me. It's a real shame too that people don't tell their honest opinions or that 95% don't leave reviews. To many complaints about this clinic. This only applies to the Millinocket clinic. Not sure how the other clinics are. Would not recommend anyone go to this clinic! No doctors, just nurse practitioners. They can't even send you to the specialists, cause they try to act as if they know what they're doing. Much better places to go than here. They should remove all the phrase painted in black letters on there walls, nothing it says is true.

Dr. Thibault seems way too competent to work at KVHC. She was great, but the office can't keep track of when I've called them, or when or why or if they've called me, Overall, a terrible hassle to receive care from a condescending and arrogant staff. KVHC is a mediocre at best doc in a box clinic acting like they're the orthopedic staff of Hospital for Special Surgery. I would recommend not needing medical care in Millinocket.

Edit: Also see Jon Martz's review. Seems like at least two patients have had to resort to filing complaints with the nursing board. KHVC staff told easily disprovable lies in their response to my complaint. Specifically, that they had no record of me calling them, but they left me a voicemail in response 2 days later.

They refuse to do a simple test. Now my wife can't work at all. All this could be avoided. 3 years of pain and suffering loss of work. You should take responsibility for your actions. And pay for what you have done . And you made her as an addic in your records and she not shame on you.. sever crohn's disease it was a simple test they refused to do.
