Looks like work is being done to make the park a cleaner place to hike and bike

Editing to add: I've now enjoyed the park throughout the seasons! PERFECT place for sledding with the new bathroom and interpretation center!

Small playground for the kids, lots of beautiful hiking trails, picnic tables, and a new interpretative center with a mini museum! Check for geocahes and enjoy some beautiful local history at any time of year. The new visitors center has nice modern restrooms and a water bottle filling station as well. And all for free! Definitely worth the stop.

Beautiful rolling hills among lakes, forests and open meadows. Great for mountain biking and hiking in the summer and x-country skiing in the winter. Interesting interpretive center about the history of the place. Just 15 min from downtown Alexandria.

Was such a cool place to stop. The room inside the building has some way cool information in Vikings. The runes was runestones were cool to decipher.
Going over to the farm site was pretty cool too. Had some cool fall colors starting. Can't wait to go back and see what changes.
Going up to the site where they found the stone has the best color changes!!

Great local park with plenty of trails. Great for hikers, mountain bikers, horse riders, and people who want to be outside. There is a pavilion for rent as well as a barn. It also has a swing set and a merry go round for kids. Runestone also has a baseball field and a couple of meadows to play in.

The park is great, fun little trails to go on and a really nice facility to visit. Late night walks are also great here. Be sure to take care while you take a walk in the woods and experience nature.

Winter sledding the bomb! Our family visits the hill several times a year just to experience the thrill of whoosing down. Climbing back up is challenging but worth the hike. The park is lovely in the summer, full of trails and plenty of geocaches to find. It's a gem. Plus, don't forget about that allusive rune stone. Real or fake? Who knows.

Beautiful trails and trees, especially during first week of October foliage. Interpretative center is an Architectural beauty, don’t forget look at the displays inside that document the historical authenticity of the runestone (for further evidence see Scott Wolter’s book and videos on YouTube)
