Butterfield Stage Motel

It doesn't look like much from the outside (except for the wonderful vintage sign) but the rooms are nice. Comfortable, spacious and clean. Great location. Nice staff. My room had a good size refrigerator and microwave plus coffee pot, but no tea.
Try the Cactus Cafe next door for great food. I loved the brisket tacos and breakfast burritos.
As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe.

This was by far the best little motel we have ever stayed at! Huge room, super clean! Furniture was so nice and the room was decorated so nicely! Even a big artificial plant!
Great shower and just nothing bad to write at all!
Loved it! If we are ever in the Deming area again, we won't stay anywhere else!

We will be back to the Butterfield Stage Motel, on our trips between Bisbee AZ and Taos NM. It was one of the most comfortable stays we have had, and at a budget price.
The main reason it was so comfortable was that the new heating unit was so quiet. When one stays often in hotels, one finds that the ventilation units are typically so loud that one has to wear earplugs.
The service was friendly and the room very clean and comfortable and quiet.
We sprang for the deluxe room, still cheaper than most motels, room #6 if I recall correctly. It had two large beds, a good sized frig, a kitchenette. Recommended.

My wife and I flew to Deming to see my mom and stayed here 3 days and 4 nights, all I can say is AMAZING, PERFECT, OUTSTANDING place to stay. Room was GREAT, MANAGEMENT AMAZING. Words can not express what a blessing it was to meet Cas and Matt. 2 of the nicest and most hospitable people you'll ever encounter. They should actually have a 15 out of 5 star rating.

Stayed there last month due to a friend's recommendation. It was clean, bed was comfortable, and the service was amazing. It will be the only place I stay at in the future and only place I would recommend others to stay while visiting or just passing through. The size of my room was bigger than my last apartment and you can't beat the price.

The service was awesome the lady in front, super sweet. The room was amazing. Huge. Very clean. Do not judge it from the outside. It don't look all that. But once you get your room for a great price I might add. You'll love it. It's worth every penny.

Very spacious and clean sheets and towels look and smell fresh. We definitely recommend room number nine.

Off the main road so easy to get to, and close to food and laundry. The rooms are large and clean. The woman running the place is so friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Decided to take a chance on the Butterfield after seeing the good reviews and I can say we are not disappointed!
The exterior reminds me of old roadside motels growing up. Yes the exterior can be a bit off-putting if your looking for curb appeal, but don't let that fool you! We stayed in room 4 and we're shocked at the space. This room is larger than my first two apartments combined lol
New beds, renovated bathroom, new carpet, full size fridge and a kitchen sink... It's perfect for our halfway stop in Deming and the price is better than most other places in town. Not to mention that it's IN TOWN and walking distance to restaurants and other shopping.
The owner happened to be working the front desk and we had a great conversation which turned into him giving us a tour of the newly renovated rooms and told us to pick the one we wanted. He mentioned they will be working on renovating the exterior next so I'm excited to see what they do with it next time around.

Excellent place to stay. We stayed there on our way to our destination and on our way back. Good price. Very comfortable and very nice people.

My family and I stopped at Butterfield on our drive from Dallas to California. The room was easily double the size of a regular hotel room. (two Queen sized beds, a full size hide-a-bed, dinning table with chairs, desk with chair, apartment sized refrigerater, and microwave) We were all able to spread out and relax after ten hours in the car.

In fact we were so impressed that we went ahead and booked for our return trip from California back to Dallas. It was after midnight when we arrived. However, staff was quick to answer the door and get us checked in.

Kas was great and on top of things!
Would love to see a dedicated area for animals to be off leash as a service animal deserves the freedom to run at the beginning and end of their day of work. That said I felt safe walking the area.

Okay hear me out- this is definitely not a 5-star hotel. The 5 star review is for the overall experience. I booked this online last minute to breakup my drive from Vegas to Houston. When I pulled in, the place immediately looked sketchy and I was worried I made a horrible decision. It was after midnight and I was tired so there was no turning back.

I rang the Ring camera and was quickly greeted and was checked in quickly. My whole mood changed when I walked in the room. This room was a HUGE room with a big and comfy bed. It was extra clean and even had a mid-size fridge/freezer and microwave. Big stand up shower as well. It has definitely been remodeled and was pleasant. I slept so good!!

If you need a place to stop for the night at an affordable place, I highly recommend Butterfield Stage Motel.

If I could give Butterfield six stars, I certainly would. Rooms are incredibly spacious, very clean and the motel is close to everything that you need. Prices are certainly reasonable.

The other reviews got me here and I'm glad I came. Rooms clean and tidy. Quiet except for the zealous policeman going back and forth with his siren going all evening. Maybe you don't want to speed when coming here, but definitely come LOL. I wish I'd stayed here all the years I've passed thru here needing a room. But this is where we'll stay henceforth.

This really is a hidden gem. From outside it looks a standard mid-century single storey motel, but I came to a standstill when I opened the door. The room was huge with a high ceiling, a fabulous massive bed, a couch, microwave, fridge - I've lived in smaller places. Everything was spotless and clearly cared for and it was a joy.

Where do I start? When I first got here I was met with a gentleman at the front desk that was super friendly. He got me checked in super fast which was really important after being on the road for 7 hours with my kids. Then we got to the room and it's definitely some amazing rooms. They are really large. We had a living room area where it has furniture very comfy furniture to sit in and relax when you just want to visit and watch TV. It has a little kitchen area with a table to sit at and eat. The fridge is larger than most hotel room fridges which I loved! I was able to load it up with our groceries and it had a separate freezer. Cooling down in this beautiful room with a nice air conditioner. This place is clean, friendly stuff and definitely a must stop and rest! Very conveniently located. Right next to a gas station and only a half a mile to Walmart. Subway just a block down the road.
And you definitely cannot beat the price.

All I can say is wow! This place is gorgeous. I was looking for a place to stop overnight and this place had decent reviews and a good price. We are ending a 3 week trip and by far this is the most well kept, cleanest and nicest room we have stayed at. It is quiet. As you walk in the room you can tell the owner is really putting money into renovations. The outside parking lot needs work but the spaces are numbered. If all small motels were like this I would never stay at another chain again. It may not be the biggest hotel in the area but it should be the one that fills up first.

This place you should not underestimate based on how it looks outside. Star super friendly, rooms are gigantic, you can have a family gathering of 10 people in there, clean and nice bathroom, mid size fridge and microwave. If I’m in the area again I will absolutely stay here than the chain hotels nearby.

I fell so lucky to find this motel. I got their newly remodeled beautiful 4 star room #3 for a 1 star price. The bed is new and so comfortable. It has brand new tile and fixtures that are also beautiful and classy. I also realy like the old fella who runs the place. 5 stars is not enough.
