El Vaquero Mexican restaurant and cantina

What a wonderful surprise for Wray Colorado! The pollo feliz was fantastic, the shrimp were plump and delicious, the cream sauce was fantastic and the chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and moist. The margarita was delicious, the one pictured is the "medium" size, quick means they have a large! I recommend this place over and over, the service was great, even when they were busy with the local high school prom crowd.

Very seldom does a restaurant get 5 stars from me. The atmosphere is wonderful. The decor is extremely eye catching. The wait staff is attentive. The food is spectacular! Totally authentic. They don't make it for spicy, they create it it for the flavor. I will definitely be there a couple more times next week while on my work trip. My first trip was dine in, my second was take out. The only thing I would change is to serve it a little more "stove" hot.

This was my first time eating here and I was not disappointed. The service was fast and efficient even though they were quite busy and had two large parties. The food was delicious and generously portioned, and the atmosphere was clean and attractive.

Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. The taco salad had seasoned beef mixed with queso. It was amazing and the portion size was two meals for me.
Price was more than reasonable and the staff were welcoming and friendly.
If your in Wray you must try It.

I've passed this restaurant many times and so glad I finally stopped in. My fajitas were excellent, and the service was on point. Friendly staff and the price was competitive. It's been a while since I've found a gem like this restaurant in a small town. I will be stopping in any time I pass through!

We were just traveling thru and this restaurant was recommended to us. Some of the best Mexican food ever! Everything was fresh and homemade. Portions were generous and prices reasonable. Beef fajitas were awesome. Homemade flan for dessert was delicious. This is a gem in such a small Colorado town.

Oh goodness. The food is awesome. I had the enchiladas supreme, Ang had pork enchiladas (which were even better)

This place is great! On top of a delicious and super well-balanced lunch of Fajitas Jalisco (which honestly would be enough for two if ordered with appetizers and a dessert or two), the staff were super accommodating when I showed up soaking wet from a day of riding through a downpour and helped me stash all my soaking gear, charge my dead phone, etc. These guys are wonderful and will become a staple road trip stop for me.

The service was great and staff were very nice and the food was very good and the atmosphere was bar like with the perfect touch of restaurant. so overall I love it.

Sooo good! From out of town but so glad I got to visit!

Purchased for an entire business and they had it ready in the time it took to get there! The little of everything is just.. A LOT. It was amazing though. Best chili relleno I ever had, and I lived in New Mexico for a while! The burrito was my favorite!! Will definitely eat here again next time I’m in town!

After a 2 week vacation in South Dakota, these Texans were craving authentic Mexican Food. Boy did we find it!!! Food was fresh and delicious!! Service was over the top! Have already referred them to our group still to drive through!

Alejandro and staff were so accommodating and friendly to our large group when we stopped by after a Friday night football game. The portions are generous and delicious. The cheese sauce is the bomb. Will definitely stop in again when we are in the area.

I have never had anything I didn’t like!
