La Catrina Authentic Mexican Cuisine

Phenomenal! As a New Englander that lived in Arizona for 27 years, I had less than minimal expectations, but I needed a margarita and some Mexican food. I was NOT disappointed. Absolutely phenomenal! Mangoargarita was on point. Salsa was amazing (and even got some habanero to spice it up). So yummy!! I got the combo plate because I hadn't had Mexican food in 8 months and it all sounded good! So happy I took the chance and tried something new. My belly is happy! Rafael was awesome too! Made a great margarita and very pleasant to talk to!

We dined here a couple months back. The food was amazing! It is clean inside and the ingredients were very fresh. Our waitress wasn't super friendly but she was quick and polite. Definitely looking forward to dining here again.

In a word: Superb. Fresh. Generous portions. Clean. fantastic menu but not overwhelming. i will definitely come back if i am in town.

Absolutely extraordinary! I have been here probably a dozen times and pretty much have ordered something different every time, to experience the whole menu. I was just reading someone's review of this place and they mentioned this fish dish, lenguado a la poblana, which I hadn't yet tried, and honestly may not have ever thought to. I'm glad that I did! All of the food here is divine and this was probably the best dish I've had here. Fillet of sole in a way I've never experienced, my compliments to the chef!

We loved this place! Best Mexican food we've had in a long, long while, and we're pricky. Everything was fresh, very tasty, and the Cadillac Margo's were excellent too! The service was top notch!!

Because of its unassuming exterior, we took a long time to discover La Catrina and we were impressed by the quality of the food. Dishes we have tried have been delicious and distinct. They also make a creditable margarita. Definitely recommended.

Warm and cozy family owned restaurant serving truly delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. Great choice of cocktails, tequilas and Mexican beers. Portions are very generous.
And the “decor”!!! Wall paintings by Memo Fernandez Moran. Amazing.

Amazing food, great service. More authentic than many places. Even the kids mac and cheese was great and not just kraft. Looking forward to making our way here again in the future.

This will hit the spot. UT on thing they need to add is Green chili. I would say try it you will like it.

Delicious Mexican cuisine, the margarita Camarones were yummy. Fun outdoor seating (although in parking lot) and dog friendly. Margaritas were delicious 😋

We have now been to this restaurant four times, all during the pandemic, and we think it is terrific. The service is excellent, the food is largely authentic Mexican, and we have never had a bad meal here. The nachos are excellent. I have ordered their sole (fish) dish three times; the fish is always very fresh and the amount of food they give you in this dish is generally more than I can finish in one meal. We will be doing takeout from here once it becomes too cold to eat outside.

We stopped here for lunch after a day on golden pond.
The food was authentic Mexican food. I had the sampler and it was delicious. My husband had enchiladas and taco which he said were excellent. We live in Newport now but will travel an hour for good Mexican food.

Wicked good Mexican food. Tinga poblano chicken was great! Love the free chips and salsa that comes out right after you sit down.

I am biased to my wife’s Brazilian culinary excellence, so imagine my surprise that I find comparable food in a town I grew up in 20 years ago. The food is to die for, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. The kids meal is, as we speak, being devoured by a picky 2 year old. Raphael is an awesome waiter and kept the baby entertained while my wife and I ate, so I have nothing but great things to say about him! 10 out of 10 recommend lunch or dinner here!!

I really enjoy going here after a good hike in the Whites. The food is flavorful and the service is fast. The group I hike with all agree that it's a great place to end an adventure. Collectively, I think we have tried about half of the items on the menu and all of them were satisfying.

Most of the desserts are good as well, but I'd probably take a pass on the fried ice cream. There was something a little smokey about the flavor that was a little off putting. The flan is quite nice and will be my go to choice the next time we go back.

A surprisingly good restaurant in a very small town. We loved the atmosphere, the decorations and the staff. We both had delicious meals (not you’re every day normal Mexican restaurant) and an awesome dessert. The guacamole made at the table side was a big hit with many of the diners and they all said it was really good (you get to decide what you want in it). We will definitely go back and bring others.
