Visiting Police Park was very enjoyable and relaxing experience. You can hunt fossils if you want to (just wear water shoes) or you can hike a trail. The place is not crowded at all. Plenty of space for everybody.

I’ve never found a shark tooth before in my life. This one was so smol. Idk how I found it. It was like finding a 4 leafed clover. So satisfying. I took it home to inspect it under a macro lens attachment for my phone camera that I picked up at 5 below a couple years back. It was fascinating.

Great place for the family with young children...although my siblings & I all enjoyed the experience. Expect to get wet & muddy. I highly recommend water proof boots that come up to your knees as you'll be walking in the stream bed. Bring a small trowel & something to sift gravel and sand in as you look for fossils. We found some shark teeth along with some other types of small fossils. Very grassy & forest like so make sure to bring bug spray & tick repellent

First time fossil hunting. Found a few pieces. Had a great time! Great place for the kiddos. Be sure to wear boots or water shoes, there's alot of broken glass. Some parts of the stream bed are quite soft and you sink in a little.

Went fossil digging a few days after a lot of rain. It was super easy to find fossils. There weren't many other people around so we had a super time making our way down the stream. Tools you may want are plastic sifter and shovel. But many fossils can be found with just your hands. Bug spray is definitely recommended.

A special place. No services at this area. Usually quiet, always interesting. Families can all enjoy a day outside for free. Please observe the rules, don't litter, don't dig out fossils there are plenty loose in the water. Always wear water shoes because there is a lot of glass in the stream bed.

An excellent place to bring children and adults who are interested in fossils and exploring.
We found a shark tooth and an ancient sea shell today. There weren't any dinos but I took the liberty of adding one for fun!
I highly recommend this for a fun few hours that doesn't cost anything! What a treasure.

I have not been to this park in o e 20 years. I was amazed I found a few fossils without digging, though this is not the time of year to be wading in a stream sitting sand. When the weather breaks and folks might be looking for a cool thing to do with your children I would definately recommend visiting. Bring some old shoes, towel,a small garden shovel as no large spade shovels are allowed and a sifting device if your kids like the outdoors and into finding things in nature not normally found you will have a great time. Make sure you read the rules in the parking lot as it is a delicate landscape, there is no bathroom facilities and please respect the environment to preserve it for generations to come.

70 million years of history crammed into a few hundred feet of streambed! If you enjoy the greater outdoors and getting a bit muddy while wading in a stream this is your location. Is you need amenities you should look elsewhere. Good spot for fossil hunting too! Go off season or right after a summer storm for fresh fossilized finds! You can also check out the Ramanessin, Big Brook and Shark river.

Such a peaceful place, we had a perfect 2 hour field trip, and although we only found a few unspectacular bits and pieces it was fun and I would go again with the kids.

Fun time, especially for the kids. Don't expect to find a T-rex but you will have a shot at some ancient shellfish, plants and the odd shark tooth or two (the area was a prehistoric seabed during the time period exposed by the stream.

Great in expensive way to get your kids off the couch and outside for a few hours. All you need is a scoop and a sifter and you can spend hours playing Indiana Jones.
