Cannot say how much I appreciated meeting Michael, seeing his workshop & hearing the history of his business. Oh, I got a beautiful hand-crafted canoe as well. It’s so rare to find a craftsman producing bespoke canoes one boat at a time. The quality is top notch. What a find.

Michael (owner/builder)at Ranger Canoe is a true craftsman hand building them using state of the art material. Michael took the time to explain features and products used in his canoes. The kevlar hybrid material makes this a light (about 52lbs) canoe that is easy to handle both on and off the water. We love our canoe!

Have used my Ranger canoe for years. I bought it after years of research and, after having met the owners at a free canoe trial day in Maine (after "testing" multiple other canoes ,that on paper looked better), my wife and I raced to the local distributor to buy it. NEVER A REGRET !
My hope is that this review (8+ years in the coming) will help others who want a lightweight canoe that isn't "tippsy" and will make for the best canoe you and your family will ever buy. I'm reviewing this after many years while looking to replace the gunwhales (gunnels) which look pretty sad after my own neglect.

This has been a great canoe for the tens + years I have owned it. I use it for fresh and saltwater fishing as well as duck hunting in the winter in saltwater. Great workmanship and workhorse on the water.
