Sunrise Restaurant

Hometown dining. A dog rescue brought me to the local vet in Dansville and while I waited I ate at the Sunrise Restaurant which I picked from other Google reviews! The hometown environment was definitely reinforced when I heard the guys at the counter joking with the waitress that they had texted her. My sausage biscuits and gravy was scrumptious. I asked for my eggs a very specific way and they nailed it. Since I had lots of time on my hands I stayed for something sweet. The chocolate cream pie is outstanding! The pie crust was the best I’ve had in years. I’m hoping to come here again.

Everyone was really nice, our waitress Ellie was amazing! I loved her attitude, always showing a smile and very humble! I will definitely be coming back the next time I come through Dansville. A really great experience! The food was just what I’ve been craving all week! Thank you for great food and amazing service. Keep up the good work Ellie!

My family and I came up from Rochester to bring our cat to the vet. While waiting we were looking for food. We found sunrise and it was an amazing experience! Our server Ellie was the nicest young lady ever! She went out of her way to help us and she was extremely thoughtful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cute and friendly. Everyone had a smile one their face! It was the greatest experience I’ve had in a long while. Definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through or living here! Thank you for a very pleasant experience and amazing food! And thank you to Ellie for making us feel welcomed!

Super quaint local restaurant. Clean. Kind servers. There are tables or booths or a bar to eat at. The dessert selection looked fabulous. We got the Taco Salad and the chicken salad lunch special. Everyone ate about half of the very generous portions. A fine little find!

Such good breakfast!! Friendly staff. Will definitely come back. 😊

I am not from Dansville i came up from Rochester to bring my cat to the vet. My kids and i stopped into Sunrise Family restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was even better. Our waitress was Ellie and we adored her. We will definitely be coming back and we hope to get Ellie again. She was very sweet kind and respectful.

Very private booth. Food was hot and delicious! DH ordered meatloaf - it was savory! I had a Greek omelet - delicious! Server was attentive but not overbearing. We will be back!

Our waitress was the sweetest person ever, the food was quick and very good and the atmosphere was like being in a classic diner. This was our first time here and we would definitely return!

First off, this place was open on a Monday evening when the only other things open were bars, which is a huge plus! It was actually pretty busy, but sound doesn't carry far in there so I was able to easily talk with my family at a normal level. The service was great too! The servers were really attentive and hardworking. The food was delicious too, and as soon as it was plated the servers brought it to the table. Try the reuben, the tuna melt, and the baked beans! They're delicious! Also, their milkshakes are pretty darn good too!

Wonderful food, the eggs were perfectly cooked. Everything was really good and hot. Good serving sizes, prices are normal for the area. Lots of seating for families and groups plus seating at a counter. Friendly people, well maintained clean restaurant. I would definitely recommend for breakfast lunch or dinner.

Delicious food and relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. Vanilla milkshake was fabulous. Serving sizes are very generous and reasonably priced for the amount of food you receive. Waitress was great and accommodated us changing part of our order to go at the last minute graciously.

I cannot speak to anything else on the menu, but I got a pancake and a western omelet with pepper jack cheese. It was satisfying!

Nice little dinner my wife and I were passing through and starving and this place really hit the spot. Because of COVID we ordered take out but the inside looked clean and dinnerish! We ordered stuffed french toast w strawberries and philly cheesesteak sandwich which came with mac salad. Everything was delicious! Mac salad was perfect with just the right amount of mayo!

Solid diner with good, speedy service. Great for breakfast.

It’s exactly what you’re expecting if you’re expecting a diner.

It’s an actual meal, fast, with good service, and isn’t fine dining or contemporary. If you love coffee, stop at MacFadden’s or the SugarBowl first.

I had a great BLT Club with a side of fruit and hash browns, plus a pork chop dinner with has browns and a side salad (usually more topping but we requested no cheese or croutons). Their breakfasts and omelets are superb.

By far my favorite local restaurant. The pancakes were extra fluffy today. General atmosphere is so cozy and nice. So glad this place is still up and running!

Six of us met for Breakfast/Brunch at Sunrise and so glad we did. Was a perfect get together at a perfect place! Staff were all very friendly and informative. Food was delicious.
Have recommended Sunrise to many people now. Of course, we will be back!

This place is what small town restaurants should be. The menu has "just the facts ma'am" No goofy meal names, no crazy food concoctions, Just ordinary people's food.
Second is the location. This it what I think of when I think of small town downtowns. The street atmosphere was almost relaxing. I will be returning for a lunch or supper real soon.

First time here today. Really enjoyed breakfast, and the atmosphere was nice. Our waitress was also very nice.

Only thing is, the cinnamon rolls we got did not have any cinnamon flavor whatsoever. It just tasted like Dough and royal icing.

I did however think that the texture of the dough was very good. I would stop back if ever in the area.
