Anglers Rest B&B

I visited Yakutat on a work trip and could not have found a better place to stay. It was extremely comfortable and quiet, and Mary Kay is a truly kind and generous host. I cannot recommend Angler’s Rest highly enough - if there were a sixth star on here I’d give it.

Angler’s Rest B & B is the absolute best place to stay in Yakutat! The accommodations are top notch and Mary Kay is the sweetest host/owner. Hot breakfast every morning is delicious (the only place in town) and an amazing stay after a cold day winter steelheading. Highly recommend Angler’s Rest B & B!

Angler's Rest was wonderful! Mary Kay was super accommodating and knowledgeable about the area, and gave great advice on what to do around town, where to go, and so on. Her rooms were comfortable and I slept like a log. I stayed for seven nights and wished I could have stayed longer. She is so warm and friendly and her dog Willow was nice to be around as well.

She gives visitors full access to the kitchen cooking facilities and outdoor cooking facilities. The living room is hearty and hearth-y, with a nice wood-burning stove and log cabin walls, just the perfect kind of place you'd want to be when you come in wet and cold after a fishing trip or biking or kayaking trip all day in the rain.

Mary Kay took me on berry-picking trips and informed me about all that was edible and all that was not. In addition, she makes her own jams, syrups, and jellies out of wild berries and spruce tips she finds in the area, and they are so delicious on French Toast and Pancakes. She was also fun to be around and talkative and warm. I will never forget this experience. I would not have it any other way, would not stay at any other place than Angler's Rest. Sure beats the hell out of some formal, impersonal, Hotel.

The best place to stay in Yakutat. Period. From the accommodations to the breakfast to the comfortable beds, Mary Kay (owner) takes care of her guests and makes sure that they’re enjoying their trip. Highly recommend for your visit to Southeast Alaska.

Angler’s Rest B&B is hands down THE place to stay in Yakutat. Mary Kay (owner) will take amazing care of you. Fantastic food, comfortable accommodations, and a convenient location to a wide variety of adventures make this a no-brainer.

Absolutely wonderful! Mary Kay is so kind, caring and hospitable. Breakfast was delicious, and her sweet, adorable dog Willow is a wonderful amenity to the stay. Cozy, cabin feel. Bed was very comfortable. Wish I could've stayed longer. Highly recommend staying here and I will definitely be back!

Group of five - we just got back from eight nights at Angler's Rest. Mary Kay made sure everything was perfect for our stay. A great breakfast every morning, help coordinating our daily fishing and sight-seeing plans, and cheerful advice along the way. The house was always warm and clean, and guests are given full access to the kitchen, refrigerator-freezers in the garage, and fish processing area. Having access to a washer and dryer is a HUGE bonus. Angler's Rest is the perfect launching pad for a do-it-yourself trip to Yakutat.

The owner was absolutely wonderful! The house is clean and welcoming, with all the services I would expect in a B&B. She went above and beyond to help us when we got stranded without accommodations and her cooking is fantastic. I wish we had stayed here our entire trip! We stayed in 3 places during our time in Yakutat and this was by far the best. Her dog is one sweet pup who thinks she can take on any bear that comes by!

We had the absolute BEST experience here! We arrived in Yakutat on the same flight as the owners, so they graciously gave us a ride to the BnB and let us stow our gear there a few days before our reservation as we were hiking out to a public use cabin for a few days. For a reasonable fee they dropped us at the trailhead and picked us up after we hiked out. Breakfast the next morning was DELISH! We really liked the spruce tip syrup on the pancakes. All of this combined with helping us get a taxi ride to dinner (our phones had no cell coverage) is a 5 star rating in our opinion. We wish we could rate them even higher, though. The next morning our flight was cancelled leaving us without transportation and lodging- except, the owner had brought us to the airport and realized what was happening. Since there was room that evening, she brought us back to the Angler's Rest and helped us find a car rental. With recommendations where to eat, shop, and attractions to see, drying out our boots after a our rainy hike, and another yummo breakfast, our experience was like being cared for by a favorite aunt. We so appreciated everything the owners did for us and HIGHLY recommend Angler's Rest to anyone traveling to Yakutat. We cannot wait to return!

Mary Kay and her B & B worked out great for our group of 4. Great breakfasts and comfortable enough accommodations. Would recommend for visitors to Yakutat!

Had no Idea what to expect and was so pleasantly surprised by this awesome B&B. Fantastic breakfast every morning, nice clean bathroom and shower, comfortable bunk beds, and a awesome host on top of it all. (I even got to borrow some bear spray) I'll happily stay here next time I'm in Yakutat and will definitely be recommending Anglers Rest in the future.
