Three of us fished on the Sea Wolf with Captain Matt in mid May 2021. What a great experience. Matt was knowledgeable and patient with us. He put us on fish with a limit of Halibut and worked hard to get us some King Salmon.
The vessel was very comfortable to fish on and got to the outside reef in a short time
I recommend him highly.

Captain Scott and the crew at Yakutat Charters really know how to fish. Yakutat is one of the best places in all of Alaska to fish for BIG Halibut and Captain Scott knows where they are at.

I was amazed that Alaska Airlines has daily flights into Yakutat and the price out of Seattle is very reasonable. Only takes a few hours to get there and you can be fishing the same day you leave Seattle.

Yakutat is a great place and has some nice accomodations. Leonards Landing is a great place to stay.

Captin Scott was saying that the waters off Yakutat are one of the few places in Alaska where you can keep up to 2 halibut a day. Plus there is lots of other fish to catch like Ling Cod, Bottom Fish, etc. You can even fish for King Salmon and Silvers when they are running.

Hoping to get back to Yakutat again soon ........

Mark and our boys, ages 12 and 15, really enjoyed a very productive fishing trip on the Sea Wolf, with Yakutat Charters. Fun days full of halibut and salmon, and enough fish brought home to Montana that we're still eating delicious, tender halibut 9 months later from the freezer.
The trip of a lifetime that we'll repeat many more times in this lifetime!

If you are looking for a very positive, skilled and experienced fishing guide, then call Scott the owner of Yakutat Charters. My friend and I were referred to him by another friend and we were not disappointment.
Believe me, don't wait to plan a fishing trip to Alaska, it's probably one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life.
I also learned how to "scope myself" there too. For those who do not know what that means, I will explain. Considering I have never hunted, Scott took us out after fishing one day to shoot some of his guns and when I shot his bear rifle, I held the scope to close to my eye and when I shot the gun the scope gave me a black eye.
The funnest part about it was, when I was at the local bar that night, I was in the restroom doing my business. One of the locals looked over at me and simply said "you scoped yourself". He then told me that everyone has done it.
Not only did have the time of my life catching some amazing fish but to me, those are the memories that I count.
Thanks for an amazing trip Captain Scott!
