TUNDRA Restaurant

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Each time I visit I leave raving about the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

My most recent visit was with a group of 9 (including two young children). The restaurant is small for a group of this size, but they made it work flawlessly. Our server was articulate, organized and very polite. Every single dish that came out was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Bravo to the Tundra team for continuing to provide such a wonderful dining experience time and time again.

Went to TUNDRA for a nice birthday day dinner for my mom. Definitely need a reservation it is a small intimate restaurant. There is outdoor dining which we weren't offered when we called in our reservation. It is a wine restaurant so beware if you aren't into that. The food was great. Wine was delicious and the staff is knowledgeable about the wines and special beers they serve. The waiter picked a great wine for me. The trout was great. My mom ordered the duck it was great. The elk meatballs were just okay they needed more seasoning . I ordered the artisan bread basket it was great. We also ordered the special appetizer of morel mushrooms on bread it was fantastic! I would come again.

We have been here 3 times now, this year alone. Going closer to opening is much slower and quiet. The first time we visited was around 9PM and every table full.

Amazing atmosphere. Great wines. Cozy. By far my favorite foods. We've had the Artisan Bread starter, as well as a Bruschetta. The Trout has been our *FAVORITE* SO PERFECT every time. The Gnocchi while a lighter dish/starter is what won me over my first visit, and brought us back the second time.

Menu usually has the same dishes available. It does change sometimes.

Carrot Cake - Unlike anything I've ever put into my mouth.

Most expensive visit was this latest one at $63 before tip, and that was with a starter, a glass of wine, entree, and desert.

Will visit every time.

Consistently by far the best food in the Valley. And the wine list is outstanding! Creative menu with incredible detail to mouth watering flavors.

Service was top notch, ALL staff was walking around, refilling water, taking plates etc. Food was incredible. Best trout I have ever had and desert was great too. Very friendly staff, clean restaurant and amazing food. What more could you ask for?

It was my first date with a beautiful lady I've been talking with and the staff was soooo welcoming and just wonderful in ever since. Thank You for helping make our first real Date together a memorable one. We will be back.

We ate here our first night in Hailey and will definitely return. The service was fantastic. We chose to split a salad and ordered 2 entrees - each tasted as beautifully as they were presented on the plates. My husband had the trout which was on the menu and I ordered the Wagu beef which was a special that evening. We split the carrot cake for dessert. Every bite of every course was phenomenal!

One of the Valley’s finest! They offer traditional Idaho food but with a fun twist. It’s always delicious and exciting. We love them so much we asked them to cater our small wedding and Joel and his group were happy to take it on! Best food and the best company!

Update: We spent 3 days in the Valley during Christmas and decided to have dinner here twice.
Tundra once exceeded our expectations. The food, service, and value are unmatched anywhere. Just go there.

This is a special restaurant in the making. We didn’t know this when we made reservations but hearing that it was relatively new (two years) we asked several locals about their experiences. We received great reviews.
I’m summary, the service, food and experience exceeded our expectations by far.
The menu is excellent, wine list unique and reasonably priced and the setting perfect for any occasion.
The calamari was amazing and when we thought that dinner couldn’t be better the trout simply blew us away. As for dessert, well, it was a perfect ending to a superb evening.
We can’t wait until we return. It’s warm and casual and so it poses little threat to a fine dining experience but it may just be one of the top restaurants in the entire Sun Valley area. Relatively small, go now before it becomes difficult to obtain a reservation. It is that good.

We absolutely loved our dinner at Tundra. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My sister loved the rack of lamb and my scallops were delicious. Best part - they seriously cater to gluten free! My only hang up are the prices, but otherwise - great food!

Tundra was amazing. Food was phenomenal. I ordered their Prawn pasta. I also ordered a bottle of wine they had on special, delicious. For desert we shared their Carrot Cake which also was delicious. The service was top notch. Multiple times we were asked how things were by management. They truly seem to care. Thank you for a wonderful experience for an out of town guest.

Absolutely Fabulous. WIfe had the trout, first time she ordered trout and loved every bite. I had the steak, cook perfect. All out veggies were perfectly cooked. Serving size was just right. Wine selection was though the roof. Attention to detail was second to none. Servers were so attentive but not overbearing. Establishment was clean and bright. 1st time visitors to areas and so glad we picked Tundra to enjoy our Anniversary dinner. Scored points tonight with my selection. Thank you for a wonderful meal and nice atmosphere. Suggestion, pick the bread, put some salt and pepper on your plate and rub the bread into salt and pepper, taste like a pretzel from New York City.

I rarely give 5 stars...I was a bit surprised given some of the other reviews, however it did not disappoint. Menu was small but well rounded. What they did they did exceptionally. Huge range of wines! Service was great. Only con was the dessert, was not something I would go there specifically for but was not terrible by any means. Parking could be a problem...we found it hard to find parking on a Saturday night but thats to be expected. Definitely would recommend making a reservation.

Delicious!! Excellent service. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Sophisticated but casual. Highly recommend. We ordered the Idaho trout and the lamb special, must haves! Enjoy!

Amazing food, wonderful service, excellent wine list. Flawless experience. Will definitely be back! The chef is top notch and the ownership does everything to complement the high caliber of food that is made and served. Did I mention I propose to my girlfriend here?? Definitely the right spot to do it.

And found the best restaurant in Wood River Valley and one of the top in Idaho. What an amazing meal! Every thing we ordered was delicious, generous and portions and beautifully presented. There was something for everyone, from our eight-year-old picky eater to the vegetarian and the meat lovers in our party. The service was friendly and attentive, starting with the owner. And the wine selection was excellent and reasonable priced.

This was the best dining experience I've had in years. Excellent service, great food and great wine. It didn't hurt that I had great company.

I used to live in Ketchum. I don't up there as often. But, I would DEFINITELY go back. And, I will be recommending Tundra to others!

I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Best meal and staff that I have seen on my current three week trip. Had the Idaho trout and elk meatballs at my table. Everything was perfectly prepared. The side of wild mushrooms was delicious as were the salads.

Great dinner at Tundra!! Server was attentive but not overbearing. Dined solo and got the bread basket, elk meatballs with polenta, and chocolate mousse, plus some yummy Chardonnay. Portions were perfect size. Hoping I have time to dine here again before I leave Hailey!
