One of my favorites. So many camping spots and hikes around the area. Truly a breath taking trip. People are very friendly as well. Best part about is that it’s dog friendly. Also lots of hot springs within an hour radius of the forest that you can go to

We hiked a loop in the Sawtooth Wilderness for 5 days. The scenery was breathtaking, hiking through alpine lakes and passes. The trail was quite easy, not rough or rocky. I was surprised how easy it was to access the wilderness, compared to the high sierra for example.
The weather was also super great, but quite hot.
Nights were spent at:
1- sawtooth lake
2- Baron falls
3- Upper cramer lake
5- Elk lake

I went to the Slate Rock area and camped with some friends. Had a lovely time there and it was very relaxing. I love the sound of the water rising down the river. Or was very beautiful and peaceful.

This place will always be sacred to me, as I've been coming here for seventeen years. Not a lot has changed (other than real estate prices going through the roof in nearby Pine and Featherville) and there's always great camping 🏕 and fishing with well-maintained roads and good restrooms.

This is the ultimate camping spot, folks! Sawtooth National Forest is where it's at. Seriously, it's got all the wild camping vibes you're craving. We're talking stunning landscapes that'll blow your mind, wildlife (yep, even spotted a black bear), that feeling of pure seclusion, a sky full of stars that's basically a show on its own, and some seriously gorgeous beaches. Oh, and those hikes? They're like nature's red carpet to Idaho's beauty. Don't even think twice – just go!

Great hike, beautiful scenery, and a must do experience. Approximately 5.5 miles to Alice Lake. Approx. 21.6 loop to breathtaking views and lakes. Bring some good hiking boots and bug spray as the uphill journey is long with 4 water crossings. You can hop the rocks or walk on falling trees or just wet those working feet. Awesome hike for the challenge and surrounding beauty. Dogs are welcome on leash but make sure they are conditioned for rapid elevation gain. We will be back soon!

Beautiful country. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of trails to explore. A quad or side by side is the best way to get around. Miles of trails and the trail conditions are very good. Had a great 7 days there. Hot springs were great to sit in after a full day of hiking.

Beautiful! Mid-June was the perfect time of the year to see lots of wildlife and flowers galore. Lots of roads and trails to explore with alpine desert flora on the tops of the hills and a few feet down the side it completely changed. Moose every where, even had a coyote walk thru camp.

One of the most beautiful places in the world.
Don't tell anyone else about it or post a review to attract anyone, they might want to stay 😁

Went fishing at Lake Cleveland and had a great time there. We caught a number of nice pan sized trout. A great day in the great outdoors.

The trails are well maintained and the views are beautiful! Great for both a day trip or a multi day backpacking trip. Some of the Backcountry trails are harder to follow so make sure you have a map or GPS to navigate.

Couldn't ask to live next to a more vast and rugged wilderness. Other places have their own unique features, but the Sawtooths are incredible til the end with western wildlife, a massive assortment of terrains, and seclusion in any direction if you seek it...

Was there on vacation in October! I absolutely loved the fall colors and different types of mountains!

This place is stunningly beautiful. Most camping is free in designated camp spots and there are hundreds of them all over the place nestled in little pockets of paradise. The campsites closest to the lakes usually require a fee of $18-20 per night. There are usually free options nearby as well though.
The only warning I have is BEWARE OF THE TICKS! Its always helpful to know of ticks beforehand so you can be cautious. We didn't know there were ticks in the area so we were mortified when we found them crawling through in our hai after a long night's rest.
The Alpine lakes are still frozen by the way! There is lots of snow on the path. It's still possible to get to some of them but easy to lost the trail.

Great time up in the Stanley basin area. Weather was great fishing was good. Wasn't crowded too bad, but getting there. Be sure to be mindful of your campfire and leave your campsite looking better than the way you found it when you leave. Fire restrictions go into effect first of July so check with your local ranger district.

Drove to the base of Pomerelle Ski Area in a light snow after the season had closed. Beautiful drive and no one but us there in high country peace and quiet that was truly extraordinary.

Great trails for hiking and biking with spectacular views- easy to intermediate. Galena trails had some fun up and down hills. Love staple trails just outside Ketchum- Fox Creek, Adam's Gulch, Forbidden Fruit and a few others around there.

Sawtooth forest around Redfish Lake is one of the most incredible views I've been to. If you want any amazing hike with the best view of the Sawtooth mountains, take the ferry across Redfish Lake then hike 4 miles up to the Bench Lakes. On the way up you'll see all the best views of the lake and the mountains.

Get reconnected with nature by hiking or mountain biking this awesome forest. Sun Valley has beautiful dry weather we greatly enjoyed a ten day visit! Ketchum and Hailey had many great restaurants. Go visit the Black Owl for a nice local coffee shop.

Very beautiful landscape. Great hiking trails. We did a three day 25 mile pack trip from Willow Creek to Baumgartner Springs. Worth the drive to enjoy the area.
