Absolutely beautiful and clean! A great break from the road. You can take a swim 🏊‍♀ if you have the time or just enjoy a picnic. There is a fantastic playground for the kids to get all their wiggles out!!!
places for you to park and stay if you have your RV behind.
Some fun wildlife and a great place to stop and check out!!

⚠Out of state visitors are welcome but there is a small fee $8
✅I always suggest you pay💵 it even if the doors are closed because that’s what keeps this park looking so amazing

Nice family oriented fishing, swimming, boating (kayak, raft, SUP) pond. Big enough to be a decent workout in my kayak doing laps. Fun to stop at a downer tree and catch some largemouth bass or find that deep spot where the rainbow trout are lurking.

Plenty of parking, multiple rest rooms, a small park for the kids to play, a dock for swimming around and jumping off of. This has been a go-to for years.

Folks do need to pick up after themselves, too many leave garbage behind. The staff working the grounds does an amazing job managing it all. That's no excuse for those of you leaving your trash all over the place. Handle it!

Sometimes I wish it was open beyond 9A-9P, but it works out well and the fishing can be pretty good once the pond is stocked and/or fishing pressure goes down. This also means it's a good place to go after some early AM river fishing to wind down, have a picnic, plan a BBQ and reserve a spot or a host a small gathering. Frenchtown Pond has really cleaned up and improved this past decade, and we're happy to keep coming back to it!

Frenchtown Pond is also a great place to practice fishing strategy. I've been personally working on my kayak fishing, easier to adjust and make changes here than on the rivers or bigger lakes. Between my paddling form, fishing tactics, kids having fun, and overall enjoying these beautiful sunny Montana days, we're pretty content having this state park just 20 minutes from our home.

I took some youngsters from out of state to go fishing for the first time. It was a stunning experience for them and I'm so glad I made myself bother to do it. We walked to an isolated part of the shore and started fishing and they immediately started catching. Not trout. And certainly not monster-sized. But what a thrill for them to have that experience. We did not try other aspects of the park but it looks very nice, clean and well kept. There are fees for entering but if you simply is a Montana car with normal passengers and not camping, there is no fee.

The water was just the right temperature. They provided a shower to rinse afterwards. If there were any complaints I would have to say that the cement under the shower got slick. I saw a few people fall after showering.

Nice, open, large pond. Easy access points to it. Picnic tables near the pond's edge. Bring your paddle boards or tubes for floating! Bathroom facilities on site as well as a host... No camping or dogs allowed, though seen dogs with their owners.
Just a super awesome day-use place to unwind... Fishing! Did I mention fishing? You can fish there but please check with host as I have not done that yet. My son went one year on school field trip and they fished.

Right off the highway 90 so allows to get to easily.
Come and dip your feet or your whole self in the pond, enjoy fishing or floating and then have a picnic with the whole family!

I love this pond. My family and I enjoy fishing here, we are always guaranteed a nice catch. The park hosts are wonderful and full of great information. There is a little walking area between the trees at the pond that makes ya feel like your in a whole other place and not in civilization, if I were a kid I would definitely be playing there every chance I had! Thank you to the wonderful ladies that keep French Town Pond welcoming.

It had been 10yrs since I'd last been there even though it is directly across the hwy from us. The reason I did not go usually is because no animals are allowed and I have dogs which are good and I love to take everywhere with me. My friend talked me into going and we sat comfortably at the water while her niece played the water was a good temperature it was clean there wasn't too many people there it was quite enjoyable I've been there again since and will again

Swimmers Itch is a real thing here, unfortunately.... However there is an outdoor shower to rinse off! Which is a huge plus! Highly recommend making everyone who has been in the water to rinse off, even if going right home to shower.....! Lovely picnic areas, many covered! Lots of grassy areas for playing ball and a nice playground for the younger Kiddos. Nice little trail around the pond to walk. It is along the interstate so a bit noisy. But that is about the only complaint! Super nice hosts every year also!

Always nice place to visit. The kids love to play on the playground. There is a nice trail around the pond to hike on. The restrooms are always clean. A great destination for kids to learn fishing, paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking, ice fishing, and all kinds of water activities.

Great fishing spot for a variety of species. Kids have a good chance to catch a fish. We went on a school field trip and several of the kids caught fish. There are some Canadian Geese raising little ones there. I don't know if you can see them in the pictures.

Great place to fish, swim, bbq. The kids will love it. Keep an eye on them kids as there is a monster in the pond that’s been known to snatch a few every year. Oh, and bring your own damn smokes, quit trying to bum em all the time will ya?

Great park! Always clean and lots of room to spread out so you're not bumping into other visitors all the time. It's a great place to picnic, earn some Fitbit steps, gaze at the clouds, splash in the water, or fish. The playground equipment looks fun (makes you wish you were a kid again), and now you can visit the Pokestops to grab Poke balls and other goodies. Great place to exercise or relax. Special thanks to the host and the people who maintain the facilities. I love this park!
