Lava Spa Motel & RV Park

Beautiful snowy weather, amazing view of the river. Wonderful ambiance of sounds courtesy of the rushing river waters and trains moving through the mountains. A small playground, hot springs, and trailhead are within walking distance.

This motel is great. Clean rooms, close to everything, friendly and prompt service. Plenty of parking spaces. Being pet friendly is a huge bonus! If you are looking for an easy, central, and reasonably priced hub for your Lava stay, this is the place. I would definitely stay here again.

We came in our RV and were right on the river! Quiet and right at the pools! There are unimproved springs right there in the river that the locals have surrounded with rocks to keep the hot water in! So nice! For one and all! This is a small 2 star hotel with a small campground behind it. Has everything we need! Plus it's 1 minute walk to the pools at Lava. My review is NOT about the rooms. We only stayed outside behind the hotel and were very happy. Staying again this week. For our needs it’s a 5. Very inexpensive and private.

Chose this place based on proximity to the hot pools. Nice view of the river from our room. Reasonably priced. Rooms could use an update but were clean

We stayed one night in room 103. It is a quiet town, so no rowdiness or loud noises to report. Air conditioner worked well especially in July, which was a huge plus. Nice bed, we were able to sleep comfortably. Clean room and bathroom. TV was large and worked very well with good cable channels to choose from. Extra points for this because most places have very small TV's or something is wrong with the cable, or simply lacks channels beyond just local ones. Shower worked very well, hot water did not run out. It was a pleasant experience. We would like to thank Effie, the housekeeper. Excellent job keeping the rooms so clean, tidy, and well stocked. Thank you for making our visit so relaxing. We will definitely stay here again should we be passing thru in the future. Another big plus, it is conveniently located across the street from the town hot pools.

We love Lava, quaint and quiet and walkable; even exhausted, the people there are friendly. People saying that the motels are "dated" um, of course they are! 20 miles up the road is the overpriced, characterless monstrosity you crave. This motel is peaceful, very clean and quiet. Like the others in town; it is convenient to the healing waters, it's beds are comfortable, the people are nice and friendly. Actually, the rooms here are less claustrophobic than others in town, lots of room for even a table and chairs! The parking is lousy - again, that's the same for most places in town. The Lava Spa Motel is better than others in town, just for the beds and location alone. But the low prices don't hurt. Where else can you stay at a resort for a week for less than $500? Thanks, Aubrey, for making my rez over the phone while I was driving in the pouring rain 5 hours away, and for the great room! We even love the trains on the hill...

The staff was so friendly, Aubrey and her husband were great. My room was very clean and comfortable. This motel is located next to the river, across the street from the State Mineral Hot Pools and Sunken Garden walking trail. It's also very short walking distance from a great little restaurant called the Chuck Wagen and other shops.

We have spent a night here, awesome place, owner/manager gorgeous family, they live on site, always ready to help, ready to make tour stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms and washroom spot clean, smells nice when you enter. Highly recommend, short walk to the hotsprings.

One of my best hotel/motel experiences! The staff is so friendly and the room was super nice. The cleaner, Nicole, did an excellent job and also popped her head out of the room she was cleaning to say goodbye. All our interactions at Lava Spa were fabulous.

Our bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathtub was also great for relaxing and cleaning up after a day out. The heater worked beautifully and it is, no lie, the first time I haven't been freezing my entire stay at a place.

We will 100% be staying here every time we come to the hot springs!

Great value! I brought my two boys up here for two nights and felt completely safe and comfortable here! The mattresses were brand new and super comfortable. Everything felt clean and maintained and we had a wonderful, inexpensive time here! I can't wait to come back next year. The front office staff was AMAZING and she helped us unlock our door for the dozen times my boys locked us out!

We've stayed here multiple times for the motel in winter and the location is great right next to the hot pools and river. Our last stay was with our rv behind the motel and we camped right on the river and loved it. Best to reserve in advance soon as you know your travel dates/plans as weekends fill up fast.

Awesome people! Front desk lady was helpful. Management was also helpful and told lots of very funny stories. The office smelled like vanilla cupcakes. Outside smelled like amazing food! Room was nice and clean the extra blankets and pillows smelled nice and fresh.We had an amazing stay!

Love this place! Just far enough away from home to be a nice vacation. Staff rocks and are very professional and accommodating. The motel shows it’s age but is so clean that it doesn’t even matter at all. Great location. Nice beds. We had a jetted tub in our room was great and clean! We always stay here and are planing to stay here whenever we are in Lava.

Love this retro motel. Rooms are quiet and clean. Close to everything in town, can walk everywhere from the motel. The hot pools are right across the street!!

Very basic accommodations. We only stayed one night & motel was sold out. Seemed clean & friendly check-in. I would definitely stay again. SUPER LOCATION!

It's a vintage property. The furnishings older, but the king bed was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was updated but the soap very small. The paint in the room was brown and dreary. But I don't go to Lava hot springs to spend the day in the room. The room served an excellent service and I'll stay there again. It's across from the hot pools.

This was a great overnight stay for us when the roads were too icy and snowy to travel. The attendant at the front desk was very kind and the price was worth it, especially for the easy access to the hot springs across the street. We'll definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Little camp spot feels like you're camping in their small little town

RV park is located directly behind the motel up against the hillside.. It's a gravel parking lot with about 12 RV spots with trees and fire pits.. Sits right against the river. Since we visited in November and it's freezing cold, the water is off but has electric hook-ups for RV's ... so being able to run the heater and lights was nice. This was such a great place as no one else was there so we were able to pick whichever spot we wanted, & brought our kids small motorcycles to ride around the lot with.. there's also a small trail to hot pots in the River annnd the reason we picked HERE was because The Lava Hot Pools are just across the street! Spent the evening soaking in the 5 Hot Mineral Pools with Family. Had a great time at this place.
