Cardwell General Store and Campground

We stopped here overnight in their Boondocking sites. We had access to all the amenities on site. A shower after a long day on the road in their bathhouse was wonderful. We had to arrive late, so we reserved online and communicated to them our needs. They were very accommodating. Will definitely stop here again even if it is a little out of the way for our trips.

A great find for an overnight RV campground & stop traveling north. Ez on and off I-90. Campground has all pull through and level RV sites. Very friendly staff. Excellent restrooms and showers. Everything you need in a store, gas station and there is also a new bar attached.

A very nice, clean and well maintained little park. An excellent location for an enroute, over night stop, right off I-90. Sites are level and roomy enough. The wifi is first rate. It's a bit pricier than most parks like this. But after staying for a night, I didn't mind..

Hands down the best campground we have ever stayed at. We stayed in tent spot #2 and its real close to the freeway so bring earplugs and you will be good. The owners are hands down some of the most personable people ever. So so nice!!!! The coffee bar is amazing and great coffee. The showers and bathrooms were so clean!! We will be back any chance we get.

LOVE this campground! The family that runs it was so sweet🤍 Everything was very nicely kept. Free to do laundry which is unheard of! & the shower house was one of the best I’ve ever been to. The general store has everything you need and has a delicious coffee shop that serves breakfast all day. We will definitely be back!!

We were coming from glacier national park to yellowstone and this was a good midway point. The man who owns it was super super sweet and kind to my kiddos. The bathrooms were clean and had huge warm showers. Free laundry is what won me over though. After a week on the road with kids it was nice to be able to get some done. A little noisy from the highway but we had a fan going and didn't even notice it

We finally had the opportunity to stay at this lovely campground!! It’s clean, has plenty of walking areas for the dogs, a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills and very easy access off of highway I-90. The owner greeted as and took us to our campground and even helped us with a trailer hitch issue!! The campground sites are some of the cleanest we have seen - and we’ve stayed at several over 4 years of driving across the US every spring. And laundry too!! The store and gas station has so much to offer. The ice cream/coffee/breakfast shop in the store is so quaint and has so many tasty items as well as great customer service. The owners are dog friendly and our dogs even got treats 😉🐾🐾 We would definitely stay here again.

Bathrooms are clean, nice hot water. Laundry is great. Easy on and off route 90

We enjoyed our RV stay here very much! The park was clean, quiet and the staff was very helpful. The price was reasonable and we had full hookup.
The shower house has been upgraded and was spotless! Can't wait for another excuse to head that way and stay again!

We stayed in an RV space July 21-23, 2023. Cardwell was one of the nicest RV parks that we’ve visited. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. The grounds & surrounding scenery are beautiful. The restrooms & showers are clean. They have a free laundry room, awesome general store, great RV sites, & even had live music!

Great hosts. Very clean in all areas. Well designed and executed business in all aspects of a one stop total solution for the traveler.

I rode in on my adventure bike and was treated like a king. After more than a month on the road this is the nicest place I have stayed, and at the lower end of cost. Highly recommend!

This campground is 100% a full package. Great value for money, amazing modern, spacious and free shower facilities (better than some hotels) free laundry and a store on site! Conviently situated off the highway, after a 7 hour drive, it was a real treat to come across this place! The owners are really friendly and helpful. There was a lot of small touches that most places don't think of that really stood out for me! Would stay here again

The pride the owners have in this campground shows everywhere; from the meticulously maintained grounds to spotlessly clean & spacious bathrooms and showers. The store has a thoughtfully curated gift area, and the ice cream and coffee bar always had friendly staff. The campground was well laid out; we had no issues maneuvering our longer 5th wheel in and out. A convenient location with views of the mountains, we can't wait to find a reason to stay here again.

I can’t imagine how anyone would give this campground a less than 5 star rating. The owner (I’ve only met the husband) is friendly and helpful. The facilities are spotless and in perfect working order. If you need to do laundry, it’s free. There’s a store on site for your needs. And the grounds are well groomed and maintained. If I make my way back up here, I will camp here again.

We got in late but had called ahead and let Kurt know. He was a great host, greeting us upon arrival and took us right over to our reserved spot. This was our first stop on an 11 day trip and we didn't know much about the RV we had rented. Kurt helped explain our generator, answered other questions I had and made sure we got set up.

They had live music playing that night, there were swings for the kids. Overall a great introduction to RV Parks for us beginners. They have a general store that has most things that you'd need in a pinch and other cool homemade things. We made sure to get our Montana ornament there. They also have a coffee shop and breakfast sandwiches to order, we didn't try any but they smelled and looked good. 10/10 recommend.

We were on our way to Yellowstone National Park, and we needed a place to stay for the night. Called the phone number on the sign, and they had one site left for the night. Very nice and friendly staff, Bathrooms and Showers were very nice clean.
Would stay here again .Thank you for your wonderful hospitality

My wife and I are full time RVers and have stayed in over 100 campgrounds in 36 different states. Cardwell General Store and Campground is one of the best we have had the opportunity to stay in. The General Store has a great variety of products. If we are ever through this way again we will be sure to stay. Owners and staff were top notch.

Had a great time tent camping here the other night! Great views, clean bathrooms and free laundry. The owner was very helpful bringing us to our spot and answering any questions we had.

Only "con" is that the campground is a little noisy at night with the RVs and their bug zappers. Something to be aware of depending on what you're looking for.

We stayed one night in the cabin on our way back home and wanted to go to the lewis and clark caverns. The cabin was adorable and the bed and pillows were so comfy! The owners were fabulous we sat at the counter and ate ice cream and visited with them. They were so welcoming and funny. The bathrooms were super clean and the showers were big. We had such a great experience it was a fabulous end to a great trip.

From Minneapolis to Idaho via Helena and back, these folk have the best facilities. The restrooms, laundry and showers are first class! No wonder Lewis and Clark camped here! The breakfast muffin also warrants a mention as do the staff!
