I really enjoyed my stay here.
It was a nice romantic little getaway with my boyfriend. The authentic ambiance of the historic building welcomed us with a sense of nostalgia that transported me to a bygone era. The attention to detail in preserving the Victorian charm was truly commendable. Best of all, they let us bring our dog!
The menu at the attached restaurant in the lower level showcased a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary flavors. I’ve eaten here 3 times now and loved it every time.
One of the highlights of my stay was the private spas, offering a tranquil retreat within the confines of this historic gem.
The massage I received was beyond relaxing and soaking in the private hot spring afterward was the cherry on top!
There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the attentive staff. Their commitment to hospitality was evident in every interaction.
We will certainly be back again soon!

This was very comfortable and relaxing. The food was excellent and service was very good. The bed was perfect It's is not a Bougie Inn. So if you're looking for perfect, go somewhere else. It's historic and charming, but older interiors.

I really had a great time during my visit. I booked online, arrived five minutes later and arrived to an open door, room was warm and lit and ready for me as a guest (thanks go Gaston sp?). I enjoyed the layout and the hot spring hot tub rooms that were private and exclusive. There were Three options, small medium and large. Tiled clean water was so refreshing. This place has it going on and a neat old school appeal that I can appreciate. The only thing I would do is update the sign on the main street and the look of the building and signage. The interior is fine. The exterior would look more appealing if it had an update. I hope you're around for many years to come. I love Lava Hot Springs!! Thank you for having us. I'll be back!

This is my favorite spot to stay at in lava hotsprings. The breakfast and restaurant are great, with a coffee shop in the lobby too. The hot springs in the basement are very convenient as well. If you need to relax I'd stay here.
The building has a lot of history to it that is interesting to learn.

I've stayed at a good number of places around lava hot springs, and this is my favorite. The private springwater hot tubs are well maintained, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. They're well organized, and it's easy to schedule times to go to the private tubs

The riverside inn was a perfect one night stay for us! Wonderful staff with great amenities and yet still a cozy traditional and historic feel. We ate at the Portneuf Grille (the restaurant at the hotel) and had the chicken parmesan, potato skins and crab cakes and they were all sublime. The best my girlfriend has ever had, and she’s from Mobile, AL! After dinner we walked the quaint little town of lava hot spring and it is delightful. To cap the night we enjoyed two thirty minute soaks in the tubs they have on site and number 3 was much warmer than 2 but the perfect temperature difference to enjoy an hour. The next day we were provided complementary breakfast from their cafe. Overall 10/10 experience and would recommend to anyone planning to stay in Lava!

This is our second time staying here for our anniversary. Fantastic service both times. We love the private hot pools. The rooms are cozy and the air conditioning is great after camping for 2 days. Dinner was a little chaotic. We were told the chef had recently quit. We were warned several times that dinner would be a long wait and probably be wrong, we never complained and often stated how we were fine with the wait. The ambience outside was perfect. The food was delicious. I had the halibut and scallops, my husband had the ribeye. We both had cheesecake for dessert and it was phenomenal! We will definitely come back for our anniversary next year! The female wait staff was so sweet and was doing her best. She did wine tasting with us before dinner and was awesome to chat with.

I just returned from several days at the Riverside for my Birthday. What a great place! From the private soaking rooms to the newly refurbished rooms - just lovely, clean and wonderful. I met the owners - wonderful people who are involved with a 'light touch' - after all, many of their faithful team have been there for 5, 7, even 10 years or more! And they are more of a family in that sense...the feeling at this Historic Hotel is a terrific sense of peace, grace; I would describe it as 'kindness' I felt from such easy, nice small-town people. The best.

This place was fantastic! Super clean and very comfortable. We had fantastic service for dinner and a great experience overall. However some guests were absolutely terrible. At no fault of the hotel’s staff but if I was the owner I would have kicked out a few guests. I don’t know how they could tolerate a guest letting his dogs run through the building, drunk and hitting on the waitress. If anything the staff was to tolerate. I will definitely return. Housekeeping was definitely a hard worker and the grounds lady kept the area in top notch conditions.

This was an awesome spot to stay at - central enough for site-seeing and mingling downtown and private enough that sleep was quiet and restful. (Having both memory and down pillows meant we were comfy for sure - I'm big on comfy pillows 😂) Everyone we met was smiling and happy to help, even after hours. I think I called staff with questions at least 5 times 😅 The food was fantastic! I wish I could try everything on the menu - especially the breakfast! The private hot pools made for a calm, nice evening to relax and enjoy our time celebrating our anniversary. Seriously - this place has something for everyone looking to stay in Lava and I can't say enough good things about it.

Very fun place to stay the people are friendly and very nice. The rooms are nice and cozy and the hot tubs are on site for mineral baths. The atmosphere is reminiscent of olden times and has been restored beautifully.

We had a fantastic stay here for a long weekend back in January, and we'll definitely be coming back again. The rooms were cute historic rooms with a super comfortable bed. We got the dining package all three nights, and the food in the restaurant was some of the best we've ever had. The complimentary breakfast was also the nicest hotel breakfast I've had, with my favorite item being the chocolate croissant.

We also got massages while we were here, and the masseuse was very professional and skilled. I'd highly recommend getting one during your stay.

The wine tasting they had on Friday evening was extremely fun, and the chef did a great job of explaining what would pair well with each wine and talking about the history of the wines. If they still offer this, I highly recommend it.

While everything about this stay was fantastic, the highlight definitely has to be their private hot springs. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and every time I entered their hot springs I could feel the pain leeching from my bones. My partner and I really enjoyed soaking in the hot springs every day and made sure to get the most of it.

I've never been more relaxed than I was during my stay here, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Unique, antique hotel facing the river. Like stepping back in time. Staff was very friendly. There are 3 free, private spa/soaking baths, can sign up for two 1/2 hr slots per day (believe me, 1/2 is plenty of time to lightly poach yourself in the silky spa waters). Room was large with high ceilings and new bathroom. Would love to stay here again.

A gem of a place!!! Extremely satisfying finding a fantastic place like this!! Staff is top notch. We stayed on a Tuesday night & got the room & dinner package. Very reasonable!! The location couldn’t be better! Dinner by the river was a culinary treat, everything was superb! Our king bed and room was SO comfortable and cozy♥ VERY clean and tastefully decorated! I love using an actual key!! A/C was a plus❣Bath tile work is beautiful. The building in 1914, very well maintained & beautifully decorated ! Smelled great! Mineral Baths were private, clean, & very nice 👍 And they provide robes! Special treat was a free breakfast!! Scrumptious quiche & pig in a blanket😋 espresso bar too! Such a wonderful place in a gem of a town!! Could go on & on! Can’t wait to come back! Want to thank the owners & staff for a memorable experience 💕💕

Our favorite place to stay in Lava. Rooms aren't like other hotel/motels, that's part of the uniqueness of this place. Love the private baths you can reserve. Breakfast was great. Staff was so friendly. Awesome history associated with the Inn.

This place is a great bang for your buck. Talk about a hidden gem. $380 for 1 night, 2/1hr massages, a terrific breakfast and a $40 dinner voucher. I read about a doz reviews on other places, and this place was thee spot. The fella at the front desk was incred helpful, and knowledable. The tubs are nice and clean, room was nice too. Def give this place a try, and enjoy all the add ons. We left feeling great... mind body and wallet.

We chose Riverside Inn based on hubby’s Google search for a Valentine’s Day get-away, that was different for us. We had never been to a hot springs locale before and enjoyed the private soaking tubs. Dinner at the Portneuf Grille was expensive, but very good. We were grateful for the breakfast vouchers, but would like to suggest adding more filling choices besides pastry-type entrees, such as an egg, cheese, bacon or sausage biscuit sandwich, for example, something that will stick with you for a few hours. Overall, a very nice, quiet (no kids!), relaxing time.

Had a wonderful stay at the Riverside. The staff was all very friendly and attentive. It was relaxing to soak in the private hot spring that you need to reserve. Luckily upon arrival there were plenty of spots left for a soak. The room was comfortable but the portable AC system was a bit noisy next to the bed. The included breakfast had options and a nice touch. The restaurant and bar downstairs has great outdoor seating by the river and the food was top notch. We really enjoyed are stay.
