My wife and I just needed a place as a stop-over on a long trip and decided to stay in Lava Hot Springs at Bristol Cabins. We were extremely delighted with what we found when we arrived. The little cabin was cozy, comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom spaces were exceptionally well maintained with never a wait. Lucy (the dog) was sweet and friendly. And the recommendations for what to do in town and where to eat dinner in town were spot on. I have zero hesitation recommending Bristol Cabins to anyone considering a stay.

We loved the hotel. Cabins are older than the pics and only two sleep well on them, but the rest of the hotel is wonderful. The green spaces, the access to the river, breakfast was delicious, you can feel the good vibes! Excellent place!

I spent a night here with a dear friend of mine and we loved it. Our cabin (Cabin #3 AKA “The Bird Cabin”) was warm and cozy. A thunderstorm rolled in during the night so we woke up to flashes of lightning, roaring thunder and lovely raindrops. It was a magical experience, being under the covers and warm while a storm raged outside.
Being at the Bristol Cabins made me feel like a little kid at summer camp, with the cabins and cutesy decorations.
Parking was a tad sketchy (you have to get a running start in order to get up the hill), but no complaints otherwise!
I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a memorable stay. :)

Had a great stay over memorial day weekend! The cabins are historic/beautiful and the view is as good as it possibly gets in Lava Hot Springs. Collin is truly a kind, knowledgeable, hardworking host and my party and I were very appreciative of him. The breakfast is amazing and is ran by him and his wonderful sister. Couldn't recommend more highly!

On our 12 day road trip, this was by far our favorite stop-packed with fun, unique experiences! Everyone was so welcoming and incredibly kind. My son loved roaming the grounds and making new friends. Great fresh cooked breakfast, great fire dancing ;), a unique one of a kind of experience! Highly recommend. *No air conditioning, parking can be a little tight, but don’t let that deter you from great memories!

Me and my wife spent our 3rd wedding anniversary at these wonderful cabins, and we will definitely be coming back. The cabins were amazing, the staff is great and they made THE best breakfasts. I'm so glad we found this place, cause we plan to stay here every anniversary or any time we want just a quick weekend get away. Thank you very much for making our stay even better than I could've ever imagined!

Anna was awesome! She made me and husband feel like home when we got there! Great business and very friendly. The cabin were cute and small and very home like. It honestly brought back memories of home. When we got there, my husband I couldn’t turn on the heater and we called Anna and she came out to help us even tho she live 10-15 minutes away which was really awesome! I love this place and plan on going back there!!

Great stay in Lava Hot Springs! I was in SE Idaho working and this was a great alternative to another hotel stay. Owners are super friendly, cabins are pet friendly, and it's just a nice, quiet change of pace. If you want luxury, this isn't for you. However, if you want a nice, quiet stay in a historic cabin as a switch from cookie cutter hotels, this is perfect.

We were so happy to find this interesting place to stay. It's tucked behind a camp ground off the main road over a bridge with a beautiful river. The cabins have a nice bed and are set in the prettiest mountainside. The bathroom is large and cozy, they have a cute kitchen and even serve you breakfast the next day. Plus the little town is walkable from the cabins and a great place to check out. There is a public hot springs park, river tubing rentals and places to eat. There's also a nice grocery store in town. Highly recommend!

Bristol cabins are unique and endearing, a must-see/stay/experience if you’re looking for a trip back in time in quaint, cozy, and rustic but comfortable cabins in a rural tree-lined haven along the Portneuf River in Lava Hot Springs just outside the hustle and bustle of the small town yet close enough for easy access.

We booked our stay through Airbnb. We came for a quick overnight stay from Salt Lake City, Utah area. AnnaLeigh’s breakfast the next morning was an unexpected delight! She cooked our eggs to order, perfect over medium, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. It was delicious and a great way to start our day and end our brief but wonderful trip to Lava Hot Springs and Bristol cabins. We’d love to come back again when we can stay longer and enjoy this unusual, unique and special place.

What a wonderful find! & Annaleigh was lovely to talk with in the morning as well... She cooks breakfast for guests & is an amazing host from the Lava area originally! I stayed in one of their tent cabins for 2 nights & it was absolutely perfect. & I mean perfect, because the weather was very bad & I was nice & dry within my tent cabin (!!) They even had a fun little string of lights that could be plugged in, inside the cabin. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Lava!

What a fun funky, and welcoming place. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. HelloThe cabins are quaint clean and comfortable. The river access is wonderful with a nice natural pool and waterfalls. The Hot Springs are right around the corner. The breakfast was magnificent….Homemade banana pancakes, sausage potatoes, and eggs to order in the coolest little cabin with cloth napkins and just such a cool vibe. So much fun!

This place is magical, just like staying in a Hobbit novel. The cotton trees were shedding, the owners make you feel like you belong, the breakfasts were amazing. Set back in time it still feels like the 1920's. No TV was a nice change, gave hubby and I a chance to reconnect. If you have a mindset to try something new, this is it!

They rock! I was there with my autistic son and they were great with him. We were included in the owners fire pit gathering and they were all very welcoming (guests and owners alike). The breakfast was great. Very, very filling and yummy tasting. The cabins are all so cute and authentic miner cabins from the 1920s. Only downside was the cabin sleeping three people. It was a little snug. But I would go back in a heartbeat. Even though we were only there for a couple days it was great and super peaceful. Thank you guys!!!

What a quaint and cute little getaway! The people there are very nice, cook amazing breakfast, and they were very welcoming. They are pet friendly which is a huge plus! We went up here for our birthday (we are only 2 days apart) and it was perfect!
If you are a first time visitor, know that the cabins are very small (maybe 10x10) so dont bring too much that you won't be able to get around! When the other reviews say they are rustic, just know they mean it. Very old school and very quaint but cozy nonetheless. They cook you breakfast in the morning (homemade and fresh!) We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for the great experience!

This was my first time visiting this little gem. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate any need. The rooms and grounds were exceptionally clean. Roy and Ann made exceptional breakfast. The camp host Hudson Collin and Ann made the trip very fun. Thanks Bristol Cabins I will return in the future.

What a lovely and unexpected experience. We stayed in a tent-cabin on a cold, rainy night and we were warm and dry. We tried out the Lava Hot Springs and that was fabulous too. In the morning, the Bristol couple made us an incredible breakfast. The service was impeccable and the entire experience felt like a comfy, cozy, little adventure.
