Adventures Vacation Rentals & Mountain Mayhem

A small one bedroom cottage just down the street from downtown. Everything is within walking distance. Super clean and cozy! Definitely will be returning! Even with it being the “off” season there is still plenty to do and keep busy.

We always rent the cottage. Its quirky and has personality. Huge yard with fire pit. We love that it is enough out of town that not much walking traffic goes by. Very easy check in. Very cozy, can't wait to go back

We stayed in suite 2 for 6 days. Yes, it's run down and old, but that's the true Lava Hot Springs for ya! Marley, the lady that answered the phone, booked us, walked us to our room and answered our many many questions she deserves a raise! She's amazing and because of her we look forward to staying here again.

The location couldn't be better, we love the convenience. The rooms are dated and beat up, not much has changed in the over 7 years we've been coming here. The staff is friendly but not very helpful. We definitely recommend this place still, I think we've outgrown it. So many incredible memories here.

IT WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE. The carpets were absolutely disgusting, I had to wear shoes the whole time. THERE ARE NO DOORS BESIDES ONE BEDROOM DOOR. NOT EVEN ON THE BATHROOMS. The bathrooms have awful makeshift curtains instead of doors. The stairs were extremely dangerous and hard to navigate up, especially at night after visiting the hot springs. In the kitchen there was a HOLE in the floor covered by only a few rugs. A very suspicious stair case that led to a door that locked on the other side, making it questionable if someone was on the other side able to come in at night. The toilet near the first bedroom didnt work too well, it kept running.

Won't stay in Lava Hot Springs EVER!

I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE STAYING HERE.

I have been a regular for 33+ years.
I have never stayed in one of the mayhem rentals.
Adventure, for sure..
The hot springs cost extra. We knew about that.
But to come back to a ROOM with NO HOT WATER?

What was the point?
None of us could shower, or even take a bum shower in the morning.

The unit next to us had an instant hot water heater, and the lady who checked ours only said it wasn't high enough, or the pipes froze and they couldn't control that. Then why was there running water? (Heard the one next to us run for over an hour) why not have instant hot water heaters in both units?
Inconsiderate....

As a previous plumber, I highly doubt she knew anything she was talking about. The pilot light had to be reset. 45 min before check out. 🤷‍♂

Was I compensated? Nope.
Was I offered a discount? Nope.
Was our trip ruined? Yes.
Will we be back? No.
Gator tube rentals from now on too...

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service.

I have several other Google accounts that I will be leaving similar reviews if this is not handled appropriately. 😐

Very very very disappointed.

I could barely park our 2wd car near the room door.
