Great spot for some camping.
Couple trails to walk around. Right on the river.
Sites are well maintained with a great staff.
Crawfish all over the river.
I didn't find a really good spot to fish on the river. 4 miles or from the camp site you can go to lost lake.

Hadn't camped here in literally 26 years....went with a friend for the weekend, it's as lovely as it was all those years ago. Well worth the drive from anywhere, clean and oh so beautiful....was a perfect weekend. Right on the Nehalem river, so peaceful. Already planning my next visit ❤

I love this campground. Ive been coming here sense I was little, the people that camp here are always friendly and respectable, they sell fire wood in the mornings and use a wheel barrow to take it to your camp, and are very generous, have never had any problems here ever, the creek is very nice and shallow in most areas, great places to catch crawdads. Its not too far from the beach if you decide you wanna spend a day in seaside, theres a coffee shop down the road if thats just the kinda person you are, theres a road that goes up to a nice little lake with a trail that goes all the way around. A great place to get away for a few days and rates are affordable

The campground is pretty much perfect. They're county campgrounds, so first come first served. Teri is an excellent host, and has reasonably priced firewood for sale. A well pump ( old fashioned kind), bathrooms are available. Beautiful spot on Nehalem River. County campgrounds are better spaced sites, and are not as hectic as state campgrounds. Between my crutches, and wheelchair I got around fine. Great place!!

Loved how it was peaceful, quiet, uninhabited and beautiful. Some biking and hiking trails.

Perfect campsite all around, great host, adequate amenities for a campsite in the bush, and the best tasting drinking water in the state!
CAUTION: the lizard pictured is the rough skinned newt it is very common and easy to catch at the river at this campsite, however it is poisonous and should be admired from a distance! If your kids end up catching one just make sure they wash their hands thoroughly, the poison needs to be ingested to take effect!

No running water, sewer, or electric at the camp sites. You are close to the river. I thought taking a chair to the river an just relaxing would be great.

I've been camping here for at least a decade and It's my go to for a quick get away. A place I feel comfortable going solo - me, myself and my pug 😁. Don't forget to stop at the Baker store in Elsie for yummy pastries!

Great primitive(ish) campsite. Still had plenty of open sites on a Saturday in June. Unlike state parks, sites are far enough away from each other to have privacy. Great for tent camping. And no one was loud at night, which is a good change of pace.
Be aware: large RVs would have trouble fitting. Sites do not have electricity or water. (There is at least one manual pump well at the campground). No cell reception.
If that kind of camping appeals to you, this is top notch. If not, don’t even try it.

Pandemic is finally almost over and had to get the family out since moving to Oregon at beginning of it all . Found this place after going 4 wheeling in Tillamook and the creek and pool was perfect for oregons heat wave 2021. Camp hosts were extremely helpful and nice ,campsite was clean, bathrooms seem to be cleaned every day or every other which helped with the flying bugs in them .quiet times at 10pm was nice and everyone we met down at the pool or creek were extremely helpful and friendly to let us know if the local resources. (being from AZ and not knowing the area well ) 10 mins from shops and amazing coffee in case you forgot something but nestled nice and deep into some gorgeous tree covered bliss . Definitely coming back as 3 days was just to short to enjoy the trails and creek. my daughter got caught in a small current and I was paddling towards her when others jumped in and help grab her before the currents took her down stream . So thankful for such amazing community and people . Definitely coming back.

Beautiful campground on the side of the river with picnic tables, fire pits, and outhouses. Great driving experience just going out there. Worth the journey to be in such a scenic place. If you ever want to get away from it all, think about heading over there.

The have done some work since summer 2015. We stayed for the first weekend of spring break 2016 and it was gorgeous. No one around. Light traffic for this time of year. A convenience store close by and the Elderberry Inn has great food. We vacation here for the weekends when the crawdads are in. It was to cold, deep and fast too catch any now. Love this hideout.

Amazingly Great camp site, got large designated fire pits, well defined large camp sites, large slow river nearby 10 to 20 ft wide, camp sites near one side/area if campground is beside river, great scenery of forest trees forest and aquatic wildlife. Overall u have enjoyed many repeated visits to this camp over 8+ years, great lake nearby called lost lake with rainbow trout, I'm sure the river gas fish in it but I have never tried fishing it myself, would like to try, hope you enjoy this area
