6th and Main

6th and main will forever hold a special place in my heart. The food is out of this world!! Not too pricey either. Heather was our waitress and she was amazing!! Everything was a 10/10. I will be back again and again!! If you haven’t tried them, it’s a must. They are delicious and have a very calming atmosphere.

Even though I have lived out of state for more than 10 years, I am a native of Wilkes. 6th & Main has always been the classiest place in town for fine dining and atmosphere.
So when my daughter’s boyfriend reached out for help with proposing to my daughter on Valentines Day, I immediately knew this would be the perfect location to pop the big question! It was semi last minute planning so I contacted the restaurant to see if they could squeeze them in for Valentine’s Day dinner and the proposal! Heather, the owner got back with me immediately and helped me plan out every detail. She offered to have them come in an hour before the restaurant opened so they could be alone in their very special moment! We also had flowers delivered to the restaurant beforehand and Heather once again, stepped up to make sure they were delivered on time and brought out to my daughter at just the right time.💗
Even though I couldn’t be there, Heather kept me in the loop in real time which meant the world to me! She sent me pictures and even helped my (very nervous) future son in law, pull off the big surprise! My daughter called afterwards to tell me she was of course engaged and how beautifully everything had gone! (Mission accomplished!) She also couldn’t believe how accommodating and kind Heather had been to them. Sadly, this kind of service and people are becoming harder to come by so I share with others when I find wonderful people and services. Their meal + service were excellent! 10 out of 10 across the board! Thank you Heather and the 6th & Main staff for helping us pull off a very special event for our daughter and son in law to be.

Favorite place in the area by a mile. The filet is fantastic. Love the portabella fries. Staff is awesome. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. Can't wait to come back!

Sixth On Main catered my wedding and a plated meal of about 90 guests was served with the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, goat cheese salad, and an entree choice of filet mignon, fried chicken, or shrimp Alfredo with a few vegetarian and dietary restrictions. Heather and her team absolutely came through for us completely and Heather was a joy to work with. We had a very last minute issue with our bartender and needed a new one and Heather easily just offered us one of hers for a very affordable price. Idk what I would have done without Heather’s over the top service, she made our wedding just that much more special. Highly recommend Sixth on Main for any catering needs or just simply for a meal out, amazing experiences all around.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and careered with this amazing team and cannot say enough good things! Heather has an awesome team and they’re some of my favorite to work with! Highly recommend.

A lovely old house, lovingly updated with probably the best food around.
The service is casual and friendly, per local style. The menu reflects a scaled up version of local foods.
A meal here provides a quality sense of place: small town Carolina.

So glad we tried this place! We got seated quickly and were served efficiently! We got the Buffalo chicken dip and boom boom shrimp as an appetizer and they were great! Me and my fiancé got the build your own Mac and cheese and it was amazing! Our niece and nephew both loved the chicken tenders and waffle fries and ate it all! The flat breads look great too, more pizza style though. Highly recommend trying here and having either Haylee or Carlee as your waitress! We will be back!

Good food. The fried green tomatoes where perfect, good balance with the sweetness of the glazed bacon. My steak was perfectly cooked in a very French technique. Very steak fries. The crab cakes that my wife had were really good. Crispy but not dry or oily. Wine selection appeared limited, but the Cabernet that I was served was perfect with the steak and risotto. The risotto was very traditional. No gimmicks. Plain rice and some parmesan. Nice to find fine dining in rural NC. Service was friendly and not pushy to get you out

My wife and I have only been here once but we really enjoyed our meal. It is a nice restaurant. Our meal was great and the staff was courteous. We will come back again sometime! It makes for a great date night without having to go far off to visit a real nice restaurant.

Serious WOW. The food was amazing! The guitarist on the Friday night we visited was VERY impressive. We are from Raleigh, NC. Seen many top notch restaurants. Yet still blown away by their food and atmosphere. Please keep it up. Because we want to come back again every chance we get.

January 21 for the Chilean bass with brussel sprouts and with mushroom risotto was excellent … brussels not a bit overcooked and the same with the bass!!! and the seafood soup was incredible …a meal by itself!… and last but not least the blueberry brûlée was out of this world! Thank you for the delightful tasting food you prepared for me!😋☺

My husband and I went on Valentine's day. It was a lovely evening. The ambience is very romantic and the food was delicious. Their rolls with pimento cream cheese was delicious! Service was great!

If I knew how good the food is, I'd be there every night. Fish, chicken, steak and burgers were excellent and done perfect. Hot of the night was greens ham and bean soup, OMG.

My wife and I only come down this way once a year, but when we do we MUST come here for dinner with some great family. The food is amazing, and on top of that the staff is absolutely fantastic. Great food isn't all that hard to find, but to combine that with an amazing atmosphere doesn't come along that often. We'll continue coming here for years to come!

Celebrated our when we met anniversary last night. The food was excellent and we were separated comfortably from other diners. Waiter was perfect for degree of attentiveness.
