Honey Hill Recreation Area

Great place, traffic off in the distance, park on south side. Be sure you bring what you need 41 miles either direction to Wal-Mart its a pack it pack it out area. Pit bathroom kept very clean. Beware of the locals, no respect, for the beauty it was Dec and the leaves were falling like snow.

Clean, great size, plenty of room. We had a great time camping beside the swamp. Decent amount of firewood kicking around to keep us warm that night. Very peaceful and secluded. Has a public "pit" toilet.

Nice spot to spend the night or week. Gives you just the basics of camping. Cement picnic table and earthen toilet when you come in, and that is it. So if rustic in the woods camping is what your looking for this place has it.

Those with RV or trailers might have some issues with branches and clearance. In addition, there is a large water pond driving in too.

It's a great weekend for camping. Worked hard over New Years and come out to have some alone time. Going to rain tonight but not cold. Got fire wood ready for tomorrow night when the rain will be gone and going to be a lot cooler. I've loved coming here sence back in the 80's.

Free campground with a vault toilet. No running water but had plenty of room for our class A motorhome and it's really pretty. Has a short driveway to get to camping spots and it's not too bumpy. We couldn't get any cell service at all with ATT.

Nice area, but no cell service with Tmobile. Also signs need to be posted Leave No Trace. Some campers don't appreciate free camping by leaving trash.

It's one on the few free primitive camping areas in South Carolina. With that being said almost every space is taken on the weekend. Some louder generators and motorcycle when we stayed. With that being said it was a great visit. And after 10pm is was super quiet. The deal breaker would be the time of the year...heat and bugs...neither was an issue for us.

It's my birthday gift from my wifey and I love it,,honey hill recreation area it is a wonderful place to come to,,,I am blowed away, this place is peaceful I would come again and again and again and all my friends too,,,,😃😃

Good place to get out and experience. It's in a good part of the woods. Trails nearby and less people camp there so thats always nice. They have a bathroom but no water.

Just pulled in for my first night here at Honey Hill Recreation Area really like it restroom was in nice shape the sites are well laid-out you have a picnic table and a lantern hook

Came down for a winter vacation down here between here and the other spot definitely have a new favorite spot to come to now and I'm not sure what myself provider is I have a Straight Talk phone but I have two bars of service and I'm able to watch my spectrum app without any lagging or YouTube of course I'm here to camp but if I need data I've got it

Very peaceful and serene place to camp. Whether in a tent or an RV it can accommodate. There is a restroom but no other services.

Great spot for free camping! Neighbors were friendly, the place was peaceful and beautiful.

My girlfriend summer absolutely loved the place even when the tent leaks very quiet and clean

Nice place for a quickie get away. And it's free. Just clean your mess up before you leave.
