South Padre Island Jetties

Isla Blanca Park's southern jetties are a must-visit! Walking on the southern jetties was a memorable experience, offering stunning views and turquoise beach water. Just beside the jetties, there is a Jesus Christ of the Fisherman Statue.

The $12 entrance fee is worth it. Great family destination and a local fishing favorite. It separates South Padre and Boca Chica Beach. Convenient bait stand at the rock's start. Ample Parking is available. Highly recommend!

Coolest jettie I’ve ever been on. We caught a ton of fish, saw several sea turtles, and even saw a few dolphins. Plus the beach is very pretty and clean. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon.

Wonderful walk out to the end. It was foggy so we couldn't see very far out. Loved seeing what everyone was catching. Lots of big redfish being caught. Worth the walk out.

How can you not rate this 5 stars? Went fishing here without any luck this time. Others were catching fish. Found the most beautiful shell this trip here.

Update: I returned a couple days later with nicer weather and decided to walk to the end of the jetty. As I was walking, and walking, and walking... I realized it's a long ways out there! According to the GPS on my phone it was 0.89 miles from where my wife was fishing by the tower just before the jetty starts. So if you're planning on going out there be warned it's over 2 mile round trip from the parking lot over soft sand and huge rocks. But when you get to the end and see the beauty of it all you'll be glad you did it. Plus the best fishing I saw was from the people that were near the end of the jetty.

Great location to watch the Starship launch. You can even feel the heat wave when the Starship going up.

We saw a sea turtle and a snowy egret.

Walked about half way out. Watched the fisherman. Didn’t seam to be a lot of action
Watch your step and everything will be fine but not watching could be a recipe for disaster.
Part of county parks so $10 a day but there are different prices for senior and military entrance fee but is valid at all county beach access points. RV park right there and there are some that are long term.

If you want to experience walking over sea, this is the place. You can walk close to a mile into the sea. When I walked I could schools of fish swimming close to the jetty and eating the baits , looks like they know the trick of eating without getting hooked. Scores of fishing folks, so you will have to weave your way through them, but do make it to the end for the amazing view

You only pay the parking and the activities you want. The walk is worth it on the beach! It’s such a beautiful place, its safe for the whole family.

Worth the walk. Children should not wear flip flop shoes. Our grandchildren loved this walk on the South Padre Island Jetty. Allow at least an hour if you want to walk to the end and back. Little one will need help.

The “jetties are a favorite fisherman’s a spot on both sides of the historic Brazos Santiago Pass. Great place to see ships going in and out of the port of Brownsville .

It was beautiful

I tried to make it out all the way out. Towards the end of the jetties it’s gets really slippery. I stopped for a break and watched the birds fly by, then made my way back to the parking lot.

Trate de salir todo lo posible. Hacia el final de los embarcaderos se pone muy resbaladizo. Me detuve para tomar un descanso y observar los pájaros pasar volando, luego regresé al estacionamiento.
