Russo's NY Italian Kitchen and Pizzeria - SPI

We really enjoyed our time. Waiter was immediately engaging and had a great vibe. He offered solid suggestions and even offered a good alternative when the kitchen was out of one dish. The pizza crust was fantastic. Pasta al dente. Great job to the cook team. For the six of us including drinks, just over $200. Definitely recommend.

My family and I actually had dinner here because our first choice decided to close an hr early today. We were NOT disappointed and were glad fate decided to bring us here!! My daughter had a chicken Parmesan, I had a spicy chicken and mushroom Alfredo and my sister had the baked ziti pasta! The food was so fresh and you can taste that it was all made from scratch!!! For an appetizer we had the chicken wings and let me tell you…. I think they’re about the best wings we’ve ever had!!! We wrapped things up with a strawberry cheesecake, and it was 10/10!! Not to mention Steve our server was very attentive and accommodating! We will definitely be back here.

Feb 2023 It's so refreshing to find a restaurant with professional caring servers. Robert was a breath of fresh air. The food was superb. We enjoyed a slice of NY pizza and the best thing was the truffle mushroom campanelle. I loved the atmosphere. You could taste the love in the food here.
***update December 25th 2023. Thank you for being open on Christmas! The food still tasted like love! The insalata caprese and meatballs were awesome. Pizza and pasta were all also still phenomenal.

had never been here before and will DEFINITELY be coming back. our waiter, Vince, was very engaging, attentive, had a great sense of humor and was very sweet to our dog, even brought her out a bowl of water. He was very welcoming to say the least. Food came out quicker than expected, was very delicious and overall had an amazing experience here and so did our pup.

Steve our waiter was great!!! He offered great customer service and was able to answer questions.
I had the spicy chicken and mushroom Alfredo!!! It was the best dish I have had on our trip!! Needing a different meal/break from seafood this is the place to go. Husband and son shared a pizza “ the New York village” pizza! They loved it!!

We all had a dish of pasta. Walked in for pizza and all fell in love with the pasta choices. Did not disappoint! I’ll definitely return to try the pizza as it looks top notch. The desserts also looked amazing but we did not try any. Someone at my table said their Italian sausage was the best she’s ever had!

Only downfall is they didn’t serve any type of bread. When I go to a pasta place, I’m used to getting a breadstick with my dish.

This place was simply awesome. Pedro our server was kind, very attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh. We ordered the wings as appetizer, chicken parmigiana, pepperoni pizza and a kid’s Alfredo. Everything was delicious. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take pictures of the food we ordered. But when visiting here we will definitely be back. Oh and Dora I believe she was the manager, was also friendly and attentive. Good food, Great people.

Incredible treatment by all waitstaff 🥰 when we got home with our dessert to go our waitress put a sweet note! The pizza and mozzarella sticks were incredible 😋

We never thought we would end up at a Pizza place while we were in SPI. Of course we were mainly looking for seafood. BUT I feel we were lead here after long waits everywhere else and this place DID NOT disappoint! The food was amazing and our waitress Ayla was super sweet as well. She had lots of knowledge about the menu and was very helpful. The food was amazing and seasoned perfectly! We also noticed they sell HUGE pizzas too which I thought was really cool! They also had a great view of the sunset as well!

The ambiance, the decor is top notch. The food is phenomenal, especially if you are looking for New York style pizza. They use fresh ingredients. Our server Nadia was phenomenal, professional and courteous. Even manager came over to check on us. They care for their customers. Definitely recommend everyone if you are in town.

We really enjoyed their halal pepperoni pizza, as well as the appetizer they gave us for free (bread and dip).
Their red velvet cake was on the dry side but still not bad.

The pizza was so good! It's thin crust, sauce, and personalized toppings were made beautifully. As we waited on our order, we were served bread bites and OH MY! They were the best combination of crispy and flavorful. There was a garlic dip sauce served with it, and while I'm not a fan of it, I won't knock it for someone else to try. Larry was a great server! He was very attentive, kept my glass full with sweet tea, and he was kind when my son spilled his drink. The prices were reasonable, especially since we were on a tight vacation budget. Every time I come to South Padre Island I want to eat at Russo's! Such a delicious and great experience for my family.

OMG, we eat all over the U S and sometimes Out of the country, had some good pizza, but we had the simple one slice pizza, very very good, the bread, amazing. Service, excellent. We will be back.

Went here for my birthday. I was concerned after reading some other reviews but the waiters were friendly so we went in. Dinner was great and the cost was very reasonable.
The bread appetizer with oil was wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

This restaurant has excellent food, atmosphere and especially service. My daughter said the gluten free pizza was the best she ever had. I would say that the fettuccine alfredo was in my top five. Pedro was our waiter - he was excellent and very funny!

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from vacationing here in South Padre! The food is very tasty and they have a large variety of options from pasta and pizza to sandwiches and salads, plus much more! Definitely a good place to eat if you’re in the area! The staff are super friendly and it’s a fun environment as well! Our waitress, Loraine, was very curtious and was quick to refill our drinks before we had to ask, and just all around a great waitress!

I can honestly say that I did not have high hopes for an Italian restaurant on South Padre Island as I am from a part of the country where good Italian food is readily available, and I just didn’t expect it among all the seafood and Mexican dining options at SPI.

Well, I was WRONG. This place blew me away. My wife ordered a pasta dish and my son and I split a pizza. Everything about our meal was fantastic. There was nothing generic about the food at all. In fact, it was better than some of the “authentic” Italian dining places offer here at home. Very flavorful, ingredients tasted fresh, portions were generous, prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was casual enough yet still classy.

To say that the service was great would be an understatement. “Steven”, our server, was exceptional. So courteous and helpful while making sure to be attentive to others dining as well. He even helped my wife with ordering something she had heard about, but it wasn’t on the menu.

If you want a break from the foods that are so abundant in the area, and like Italian cuisine, give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I think we have now eaten at three Russo's locations. This one is by far the favorite. Family group of about 12 of us. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The location in Pflugerville can learn lots of valuable lessons from this location. Every year when we go down to SPI, we either dine in or order to go from this location at least one or two times. During the height of summer, they are spot on. In early October when they are quite a bit more dead due to the upcoming off season so to speak, they are still solid and spot on. Do over half of their dishes satisfy 100% of the daily recommended calories that one person should consume in a 24-hour period? You betcha. But, if you're going to have a 2000 calorie lunch or dinner, at least it needs to be absolutely delicious, in this place delivers. This time I ordered a specialty pizza as I think their pizzas are better enjoyed at the restaurant than via take out, and it did not disappoint. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

So good! I received a rose in honor of Mother's Day. I had the tortellini with chicken and a Pina colada. Our waiter, Caesar, was very attentive and professional. We finished with the creamiest cannoli I have ever tasted! We will definitely be back!
