Such a beautiful piece of land. We love to go for a small walk/ jog. It is being completely surrounded by nature while being in the middle of town. An absolute beautiful place to spend a healthy, dollar-free afternoon. Also, a really safe and great way to work-out toddler energy.
We also had our Christmas photos here right when the trees changed.

Lovely stroll in beautifully maintained gardens! Many markers to read and learn about the varieties of azaleas and other plants, and out of this world beautiful in the spring (in March). Could easily spend an hour meandering on this highly shaded walk.

Can be easily walked with little effort. Some areas are wheelchair accessible, but not all. No bathrooms near park, so plan ahead. Plenty of benches to sit down and enjoy the scenery.

Also connects to the shade garden at SFA as you cross the river on the bridge.

We LOVED this garden with trails! What a treasure…we will be back! It is a well kept botanical garden with many seating areas for reading, relaxing, visiting, or picnicking. We loved the variety of plants that they grew.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to get my exercise start for the day. It doesn’t matter what season we are in , it’s a beautiful peaceful place to walk , talk, workout. One of the beautiful things about Nacogdoches.

Easily walked paths, lots of "hidden" points/areas of interest. Wide variety of plants and types of scenery to be enjoyed.

This is a must see! Whether you live here, or you’re visiting. The grounds are well maintained, the plants and trees are just beautiful! I plan to make a trip when the maple trees are in their fall glory!!

My wife and I and our 2-month old came up to the area for the weekend to enjoy ourselves in nature away from the hustle and bustle of big city life. The Azalea Garden was the first green space we visited on our trip and it did not disappoint. The azaleas were obviously not in bloom in late July, but the winding paved paths through the garden (perfect for a stroller!) gave us our first concentrated dose of Piney Woods, Texas. We even discovered a new tree that blew us away. We'll let you figure out what it is. Here's a hint: It's a special type of bald cypress.

The Ruby M Mize Azalea Garden is one of the most vibrant, beautiful and peaceful places that I have ever visited. Its colors and nature change with the seasons in a beautiful and refreshing way, a restorative place for the mind and soul.

This garden is truly a hidden gem. I visited in the fall when the Japanese Maples were vibrant and fiery. Cannot wait to visit in the spring. Well worth the 3 hour drive to visit!

Really wonderful place. I didn't get to see much of it because a university police officer was trying to catch me on my motorcycle. He wasn't on my motorcycle, I was on my motorcycle while he attempted to catch me. Apparently, you're not supposed to have motorcycles on the walking trails.

Who knew this gem was hiding around campus?! At first I thought the gardens were worn down and unkempt but, I think it was just the time of the year. You start walking thinking it's just a little garden but, it turns into this maze of trails with some photo ops, a fountain, a Challenger memorial headstone of the seven astronauts that were aboard the ship and tons of shade. We spotted a few birds and squirrels. My two year old loved it! Just make sure to bring a water bottle. Time gets away from you when you visit.

My favorite place on campus, and in Nacogdoches! Tranquil, peaceful meditating grounds shaded by native trees and sprinkled with Japanese maples. Walk paths, benches and bridges, flowers and trees, the birds and the bees.

I spent every free moment here.

Very pretty, well taken care of, very peaceful. Seemed to be pet friendly, other people had their pets with them. I almost forgot that I was in the middle of town.
