Rigo's Place

Rigo's special offers a chicken breast topped with a crab cake and champagne sauce. Served with a side of mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables, it was incredibly flavorful. There's a reason it was named Rigo's special.
We also had Chicken Marcella and chicken parmesan, which were quite good.
The menu is much more extensive than listed online, with a list of daily specials.
You owe it to yourself to try this one, many times!

Warm, clean, bright and comfortable.
Rigo's place is a welcoming and friendly establishment. The woodwork adds a warm and welcoming style to a well done dining room and bar. Tastefully decorated with well selected artwork and accents.
A wide and varied menu provides quality choices for everyone. Pasta dishes are cooked and seasoned properly and served hot. Steaks, seafood, salads, soups and desserts.
A selection of special offerings are provided as well, in addition to the regular (large) menu. Warm bread and butter is served tableside in a covered basket. The well appointed wine list and quality liquor choices makes Rigo's Place a great spot to quaff a few adult beverages in a great atmosphere. The kitchen pays attention to the details and that is a strong point here. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. It was really a pleasure to dine here. I will be back as an opportunity provides. As if all that is not enough, Rigo's have and upstairs private party room for events with its own well appointed bar. I moved out here from Chicago about a year ago. Being from Chicago food has been something I've missed. I was looking for some place that had good Italian food so I googled and came across Rigo's Place. This place is a Hidden Gem. When I first walked in, I loved the Ambiance and the piano playing in the background. I loved the dim lights with the candles lit on each table. I ordered the Classic Cosmopolitan and it was perfect. It had the perfect balance of flavors and alcohol. For appetizers the Calamari Fritti was delicious and it was fried perfectly. For the main entree I had the Smoked Italian Sausage Pasta and I loved the homemade tomato Basil sauce. It was really good. For dessert I had the Banana Cheesecake and it just melted in my mouth. It was so delicious. The service was great and the waiters were very nice. 10/10 recommend and I will be going back to try other things on the menu.

The taste of the Big City without the big city traffic!! The ambiance was very nice, conducive to having a lovely dinner. The live pianist was a very nice touch. For starters we ordered the saganaki "flaming cheese" then were served rolls , soup and salad. Just as we were finishing that, the entrees came out. Everything was served in a timely manner. Our waitress offered the specials and was helpful in helping me decide on the Poulet Bleu, which was a chicken entree with blue cheese and brandy sauce. It was delish ..My wife got the chicken marsala and she really loved it. Dinner pricing for most entrees was in the $20-25 range per person. It was nice to go somewhere that offered unique menu items for the area. Can’t wait to go again!

After having a bad experience at another restaurant we ended up at Rigo's and oh what a difference. We showed up 5 minutes before opening and were welcomed by a very gracious host. The place is very clean and classy. Waiters were super professional. Food was delicious. I ordered sea bass and my husband got the tenderloin. Bread was great but the salad was only one slice of tomato and one of cucumber with a bunch of lettuce. Great music. We're from out of town but if we ever go back to Kankakee we'll definitely eat at Rigo's again. The menu has lost of options to explore. Parking lot was large. By the way, they speak Spanish!

The food was delicious, everyone in our party raved about their dinners. Also had appetizers, and they did not disappoint. It's definitely worth it for a nice dinner with a great atmosphere. If you can save some room for dessert, it is well worth the homemade taste.

Shrimp de la casa was delicious and the service was outstanding. Creme brulee was among the best I've ever had. (I heard the tiramisu was amazing as well, I didn't catch a photo of it unfortunately). 10/10 would recommend

Atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a 3-4 course meal. Start with appetizers and drinks - you MUST try the French Martini. The crab cakes with Champaign sauce is a customer favorite. You must try the Rigos special, pecan crusted grouper or bacon wrapped shrimp dinner. Plus the bartender is super cute!

Great place for a date night, anniversary, or for a friends night out.

Great food with a very neat ambiance. The food has a little kick to it. I had the blackened chicken and had to keep drinking water in between bites. Not horrible where it ruined the taste, just something to note. My boyfriend had the Italian sausage pasta and said it had a little kick as well. The shrimp is nice size, almost seemed like two put together. We had the tomato soup and it was beyond delicious, not sure how they spruced up tomato soup like that. Really enjoyed this restaurant.

Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. The building is in downtown Kankakee and is old and drafty but it has a ton of character. Food is amazing. The menu is interesting and has choices for everyone. Bread is fresh and delicious. Definitely try this place!

Had a very nice waiter named Austin he remembered us from another restaurant won't mention the name in this review out of respect for Rigo's place. Food was delicious, atmosphere wonderful. Will be returning to this place again prices weren't so bad either for such a nice place matter fact they were excellent prices for the food that you get.

Quaint cocktail lounge and international cuisine wrapped up in one.

Go enjoy the soft music and calming brick, lighting and lavish woodwork.

And as an added plus they have a private banquet room upstairs!

On a Friday in Lent, this is definitely the place to eat! The dinner rolls are hot and fresh, and too delicious to pass up. Rigo's soups are always outstanding, and the baked vegetable soup did not disappoint! I also ordered the crab cake entree. The crab cake was the perfect consistency, almost melting in my mouth. My fiance ordered the liver and onions, and said it was tender and tasty, the best in town.

First time at Rigo's Place, and we loved it! Phenomenal food, great service, and wonderful ambiance.

Food is exceptional and so is the service. Atmosphere was just okay. Could use something to wow the patrons. Just not sure what.

very busy time and so thankful to Rigo and his team treated us like gold. Also thanks for Taking care of my Hollywood Friends. (Pretty high maintenance ).

Great Kankakee venue. You can feel the staff's genuine desire to provide exceptional service. Blackened shrimp over angel hair and NY Strip with double baked and asparagus were both exceptional. Crab/shrimp cake appetizer is interesting, you'll either love it or hate it for its uniqueness. Good value for the experience.

Great to have an upscale restaurant with delicious food and great service around. Will continue to support them every chance I get! If you haven't been there you should definitely give them a try!
