My entire family enjoyed visiting. There was more in the museum than we expected. The kids could get into the cockpits and one large aircraft. Recommend going here to see.

Great enjoyable history here! Came with my 10 year old sister and she loved it as well. Much more stuff than what’s in the pictures and has a very nice gift shop. It’s on base though so make sure you get a visitors pass(free) located at the visitor center near the base entrance

This place is absolutely amazing. I have been to this museum twice since 1995 and it’s truly a hidden gem. Located on base, it will require base access, but definitely worth stopping by and seeing the facility and aircraft. A few one off prototypes and even some historical birds present and on display. The R66 Comanche helicopter and super 68 helicopters are located here as well and can be viewed!
Again can’t recommend enough and anyone visiting the Gulf Coast who is interested in air power and helicopters should definitely take the time to swing by and see what all is here to offer!

Ft Rucker, recently renamed Ft Novosel, is the home of Army Aviation. This is Army Aviation's museum.
It has a good showing of early military aviation starting with a Wright Brothers designed two seater to an SE5A from WW1. Unfortunately, there are no aircraft to show for the WW2 period when the Army Air Corps ruled the skies before the USAF came into being. Then, the museum focuses on the Vietnam War before ending with the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The full-scale dioramas are first rate.
There is a nice gift shop with a lot of military aircraft prints for sale, apparel, kids toys and Army Aviation collectibles.

Incredible exhibits chronicle aircraft and people from the birth of aviation through the present day. Many unique fixed and rotor wing aircraft in interactive and static displays. Many stories of heroes from all wars that Aviation played a role in. Exhibits both indoors and out. Plan for 3 or more hours. Easy access and several restaurants right on base.

Went to Fort Rucker for flight school back in 2013. This is a fantastic museum that shows the history of U.S. Army Aviation. My recent visit was in 2024 and there is now a Camanche in there. Not sure what history they want to tell about having that aircraft in the Army. The museum is very clean and very well kept.

Incredible collection of historic aircraft and memorabilia. The docents are veteran pilots who have "been there and done that" and their enthusiasm is infectious. Incredible experience.

The aircraft on display were well taken care off and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. This museum was way more than I had imagined! 😁

This museum has been so special to me since childhood and remains so today. The people at the desk are always friendly, the museum is easy to navigate, and it has such great displays and information. I used to beg my father to bring me every weekend and now as an adult I love to bring my own child.

Really cool experience! Loved seeing a Comanche stealth chopper in person. Friendly folks up there too.

A great way to understand US Army aviation! Some very nice helicopters, along with some experimental types. Enough up close, hands on to keep the kids entertained.

From the Wright Brothers to today's drones, this collection has them and everything in between. A very well curated and fascinating look into where Army Aviation has been, where it is now and where it will be tomorrow. There is a well stocked gift shop inside the museum. Definitely worth the visit!

Great place to visit if you live in the wiregrass area. I’ve been since I was a little kid and each time I go I could easily kill an afternoon gawking at how man took to the skies. Only thing I’d dock a star for was the goofy Christmas decorations on the exhibits at the time of my visit. It makes it a little difficult to get decent photos of stuff, but that’s just personal preference. Admission is free. Good cheap fun.

My husband was stationed here many years ago while in the Army. He asked me if I would be interested in seeing it. I wish we could have seen more of the base but I loved what I did see.

Great displays. Free. Mask mandatory. Helpful staff. Should visit is you are in the area. It will be even nicer when they open the new building and can display more. We enjoyed it!

It was awesome to stroll through the outdoors and look at the different kinds of aircraft. I was amazed at how large some of them were yet there were a couple so small. Each one serving a certain mission or a certain job. It was pretty cold to walk among them and looking at them so closely.

EXCELLENT MUSEUM!!! Takes a minimum of a couple of hours to see. Would be much longer if you really like to read everything. Yes - it is on base, but access was not an issue. Really nice gift shop as well. I'd suggest starting with the movie screening on the history of Army aviation before going through the exhibits.
