Great museum of Cactus Jack also known as John Garner and Dolph Briscoe Jr.! So much interesting information! Like, why was he called Cactus Jack? Go find out, it's free! 😉

I am so excited about my continued education theough my travels and stays throughout small Texas towns. I finally visited a favirote museum in this area. Austin you did fine work in perseving the leadership memoirs of a Uvalde resident and Vice- President of the U.S. I have to return to this fun museum to complete my "Scavenger Hunt" on John Nance Garner ("Cactus Jack Of Texas") and Dolph Brosvpe "Texas"!

Nicely curated museum with very knowledgeable docents. Lots to see and read, easy to spend more than an hour or so.

Been coming here since I was a kid, I grew up in Uvalde. It seems like much of the Garner items have been removed to make room for the Briscoe displays. That was fine by me, the Garner things that remain are really cool and Dolph Briscoe was very good to Uvalde. I'm glad people can go here to learn about him too. They had interactive materials which made it more exciting for my 6 year old niece. Free admission but worth dropping a few bucks in the donation bins so that the history of our area stays preserved.
