Happy Thought Coffee

I loved their sausage, egg, and cheese croissantwich. They have delicious muffins as well. They have a pleasant atmosphere for getting together with a friend to chat over coffee or chai tea.

Does the thought of a warm cup of coffee give you a happy thought? Yeah, me too.

For years, I have been wanting to try Happy Thought Coffee for two reason. One, its a coffeehouse. Second, because it has good word-of-mouth among people I know. After setbacks and hectic schedules, my friends and I finally worked out a time to go.

Upon pulling up and parking, we notice that the building shares it’s space with a few businesses. Nothing weird except for the fact that it appears that the travel business that shares the space with Happy Thought really does share it’s space. It was a bit jarring when I went to the back of the shop and encountered what appeared to be a bedroom converted to a business.

Any who, we are here for coffee and food. We all took plenty of time to pour over the menu and ask the cashier a million and one questions. The cashier was super friendly and answered our questions without blinking an eye. She even tossed in a few jokes here and there. After asking questions and placing our orders, we took a seat. The barista brought our drinks out to us and we quickly took to sampling them. My friend Tim ordered a Cremosa, Matt a flavored latte and I got a Happy Cap. We all had smiles on our faces as we were infusing ourselves with flavors and caffeine. I don’t remember exactly what the Happy Cap had in it but the caramel flavoring was good and the alcoholic taste was a surprise… but a pleasant one.

After chatting about nerd stuff for 15 minutes or so our food arrived. Tim and I ordered a Turkey Sandwich while Matt got the 3 Meat Flatbread pizza. I had instant food envy as the pizza looked delicious and I haven’t had any in forever. We quickly set upon or food and devoured it in a matter of minutes. Our sandwiches came with some chips and a pickle. Tim was gracious enough to let me have his pickle as he doesn’t like them and I do. The food got a thumbs up from all of us. Tim decided to top it off with a slice of pie, which looked delicious but he said it was not great. Too sugary was his issue with it.

So, did Happy Thought Coffee leave us with happy thoughts? I would say that after the delicious Happy Cap and Turkey Sandwich that, yes, yes it did. The pricing, atmosphere, friendliness of staff, and taste all left a happy thought with all of us.

Lastly, there appeared to be a vault door that lead to a little gift shop near the back part of the coffee shop. We didn’t take a look but the heavy vault door definitely caught my eye. I will have to take a peep next time I pop in.

Local coffee shop with a travel agency at the back. Say what? Yup, travel agency + coffee shop. 100% made from scratch menu items served on environmentally conscious biodegradable plates. They are also 80% sold out of their limited edition cookbook so get yours while stocks last.

They have extremely friendly service their website is super easy to navigate. The food is always amazing and their pies are incredible. As a stay-at-home mom I look forward to ordering their lunches which are always like homemade and their copying and chai are great. If I could give it six stars I would. I will be continuing eating here for as long as I live in the area for sure! 💕

this place is neato. i don't know what i expected, but i was blown away! their coffee is really good and they have vegan options which is always a plus. i wish their veggie wrap had something like hummus on it, but it was still delicious and filling regardless.

the customer service was great too. i believe they were high school students? they were very helpful and very attentive.

the interior is really neat too. feels more like a big city shop but without the crowds!

This place & these wonderful People deserve 10+ stars! Fantastic coffee ☕, awesome food & treats. Every year they selflessly put on a Christmas party for families & children. We've made it a tradition. & feel blessed by their generosity! ♥ ♥ ♥

grandchild of owner here! great place <3, ive been coming in since i was a literal infant and this place is a great place to be. not only is it cozy and the scones delicious, the vault is a hidden gem i dont see people talk about often. very nice for photography!

Stopped by for lunch with my buddy, Jimmy. We both had the special, a bacon cheddar macaroni thing, and I had a small side salad, while Jimmy had the Tuscan Tomato soup, which he proclaimed to be excellent. Nice atmosphere, Stacey at the register was helpful and welcoming. There is a good chance that we'll be back.

The name says it all. Who couldn’t have happy thoughts with the wonderful, coffee, sandwiches, lattes, atmosphere and a bit of pie! The staff has been friendly each time I’ve visited. The shop itself is neat and is often bustling with visitors. A few tables outside are also nice.

Absolutely the cutest little shop, the food is outstanding, the coffee is nice and strong. The service was very welcoming and friendly as well. Can't wait to come here again, the turnovers and the muffins were both very tasty.

We got there after 10am on Christmas eve.Sara was so sweet to throw more biscuits in so they could make our delicous breakfast sandwiches.

Cozy little coffee shop, the coffee is good and the desserts are fantastic. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is always friendly and prompt. I wish they were open a little later on Saturday and I wish they were open on Sunday.

Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Just a great place to have a meal or have a coffee. Really fortunate to have this business in Chillicothe.
