WOW. Why doesn't this place have five stars across the board?? We got takeout last night, and it couldn't have been better. We got a couple orders of the Vegetable Deluxe, which I think is an order for two, and I was really knocked out by the quality. Every vegetable was treated differently. There was pickled daikon, there was some tempura, and some things I'll be honest I can't identify. The seaweed was also delicious. Family loved the smoked salmon. Everything tasted amazing! Full order was ready in 45 minutes, and on a busy Saturday night with a lot of orders, we were very impressed with the quality. Staff was very attentive and continued to update us in our order. EatStreet tracked the order perfectly and it came out the moment it was supposed to. Best vegan sushi I've had in town and I want to eat here every weekend!

Overall a nice experience. Sushi was great. The service was good, our food did take a bit to come out however the presentation was beautiful.

This is a great space. Open design and concept creates a nice flow. Extensive selection and not just sushi. We order 2 Bento boxes. Teriyaki chicken and beef negimaki....both were spot on. We order 2 rolls....they were good but we should have stuck to our usuals. All this for $35 with excellent service to boot. I highly recommend.

Ordered take out - the Dancing Salmon roll was AMAZING. The tuna salad was also good. Didn’t experience issues with slow service.

Best fish quality I've found in Madison. Prefer it to red. Usually the salmon or yellowtail impresses the most. Not the fastest service or fanciest decor but I always like the food.

I eat here every week! Yummy sushi & great prices! Staff is super friendly and always helpful! Other options besides sushi - vegetarian & vegan options available

Ended up spending $60 on 2 apps- edamame and a salad (the house ginger dressing is amazing!) and 7 rolls, no bad and it was so good so worth the money!

Food is really good and generous portions. We have only been here for lunch and the bento box is my favorite.

Impressed. This place is small- but pretty with several tables available outside. The sushi is delicious, with very generous rolls and the fish is incredibly fresh. Service is fast and friendly. I personally observed someone rip into a waitress (No reason!) and she stayed calm and sweet throughout. I wish I knew his name so I could review him...

Food was all amazing. Felt a bit rushed to finish and leave. As they where cleaning around us to close at least a half hour earlier then their posted hours (online and on the stood front). But I would still return.. I would just make sure to go sooner next time.

Very well presented sashimi, decently priced, kind staff, atmosphere is also different than most sushi restaurants. Definitely would recommend the sashimi , rice tasted better than most places as well. Lightning is a nice golden tone with a huge island for seating in the middle, includes a patio well sized on opposite side of parking lot.

Sushi large, flavorful and delicious. Service fast and friendly. Miso was subtle and perfect. Highly recommend, will be back!

I went on Valentine's day. It was packed so the service was a little slower but that just gave us time to talk. The sushi was great! Cocktails also great.

This is one of my new favorite sushi places in madison. First off, the atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Gives that hip kinda vibe you want in a sushi restaurant without being overdone. Secondly, the ingredients are very fresh and taste so too. I had the salmon lunch platter and was very impressed by the quality. Delicious.

I had never had sushi before coming to Takara 88. I had an amazing time at this restaurant. Service was friendly and quick, food was very good. I would definitely recommend going to Takara.

Once I was seated the service was fast and attentive. I had a very nice shrimp tempura Bento box for lunch.
