We've celebrated many birthdays and anniversaries at Louisianne's, but hadn't been back in several years after we moved to the 'burbs. It was just as solid as we remembered.
We made reservations and were seated at a roomy, quiet corner tahle. We had Chelle as our server. She's an absolute pro. Everything on the menu promised to be delicious. We ordered apps for 2 and two shrimp entrees. We enjoyed all of it- including the complimentary salad, soup, and french bread that were included with the entrees. We left stuffed with an amazing peanut butter pie dessert to take home.
The restaurant has a cozy ambiance and a live pianist. We considered Louisianne's a special occasion restaurant, but frankly, our bill was absolutely worth what we paid and more. We're looking forward to returning soon!

Excellent Cajun food. Don't skip on the pulled pork crepes, an appetizer you won't see anywhere else. I had the tasso and shrimp fettuccine. I could have eaten a bowl of the mushrooms and sauce that came with that dish.

I wish there were more stars I could give - 5 seems too few... Sam our server was fun, informative and patient with all our questions. Food was WONDERFUL,, portions were more than enough. The atmosphere was like stepping off Hubbard street right into another country. We could have lingered for hours. Thank you to the front of house crew working Friday night, I think each of you at one time or another made eye contact with us and made us feel welcome, No rushing the courses, no pushing us to ""move on". It was a very enjoyable evening. Thank you again, Sam, for being so good at your job!!

I love this restaurant for special occasions and the catfish was perfect! Our companion, however, did not recieve her order until we were finished with ours..that was very sad..plus her desert was not delivered! We laughed about it but in retrospect it was a slight..

The atmosphere and ambiance were cozy and inviting. The vaulted ceilings and live jazz piano were just right for the sound.

Food was amazing. Crab cakes melted in your mouth. The Shrimp and Crawfish Diablo special was just the right amount of heat and the salmon with the REAL butter flaked perfectly. The real butter had a hint of lemon and possibly garlic?

The deserts were this pecan chocolate cake that was like a fudge brownie and so decadent. But the chocolate creme brulé was divine. Fresh whipped cream for both.

We will definitely be back and won't wait for our anniversary next time!

I love this intimate little restaurant. I almost hesitate to give a good review because I don't want it to get busier. The staff is great. The food is great. The specialty drinks are great. I don't have any pics, but the armosphere is like the best of New Orleans without the smell or being run down. The low vaulted ceilings make you feel like you're in a wine cave.

Fantastic Restaurant! The food was creative and beautifully prepared. Apps we had the combo platter for two then a garden salad with homemade blue cheese dressing. The entree was one of the specials. Grilled swordfish. Posting pics below.

Simply put, if you are looking for incredible food, in a great atmosphere, at more than a fair price, you will not be disappointed. Choosing between the special of the night, or an item from the menu may prove difficult. Relax, there are no bad choices from this establishment. Gwen has an excellent wine palate, and I highly recommend that you ask for her input. I would put this restaurant up against any of the four/five star restaurants of larger cities. Bon appetit'

We stumbled upon Louisianne's by accident, intending to go to the wine bar next door but intrigued by the basement location and unique menu.

We were not disappointed by our deviation in plans... The food was spectacular (we had the escargot and a "crawfish cheesecake" appetizer), and our server was extremely friendly and made the experience shine with her kind attitude and great service.

We enjoyed this place a lot and would love to come back for a full dinner some time!

Excellent everything!
I loved the food, wait service and atmosphere. The owner found my pendant that fell from the chain around my neck and her husband found the chain under my table that broke. I love that necklace so I am so greatful.

You know a place is probably nice if it's on the top floor of a building, but arguably it's even nicer when it's underground!

My experiences here are always top-notch and the vibe is excellent. The Creole insipred dishes always hit wonderfully, from the many ways they prepare their seafood to the absolutely delisicious pork loin - this place just doesn't have anything worth skipping out on.

Wonderful date spot for a date night, and the prices aren't far off at all from what one would pay at a chain restaurant of lesser quality.

I will be back!

This establishment was fancy without being pretentious. I went here with two of my coworkers the night before we flew back home from a business trip. The creole cuisine was a surprise to find in the Madison, WI area. But I jumped on it as soon as I saw it! I had the Crawfish Etouffee and a 4 piece platter that I shared with the other two. My coworkers had the sauteed shrimp and the barbecue shrimp. BBQ guy is a fussy eater. He enjoyed the shrimp in my sampler that I shared, but thought his entree was just so-so. But my other coworker and I both dug right in to our food. It was great! We also had a few rounds of bourbons and a margarita with out dinner. The hostess for the evening was a pleasure, and we enjoyed the casual banter with her. If I find myself back in the area, I'll definitely go here again!

My first time there. I had the salmon which is not on the menu every time. It was delicious. I'm not a fan of creole type food so was happy that the salmon was an available choice. The atmosphere was good but the tables were too close together for my liking. I also felt it was a bit pricy.

A really nice place to go. The vibe is great, especially for a cold winter night. Loves the foods and the appetizers are phenomenal.

Feels like a characteristic slice of New Orleans in an easy to reach location. Prompt and pleasant service, great food and atmosphere.

Really excellent place. Make time to enjoy a cocktail at the bar before or after dinner or both. I'm certain that you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Ask anyone working there what's great if you're not sure what to order because they all have seemed to try most or all of every menu item.

Amazing. Truly amazing. The food here is absolutely incredible, and so is the wine selection. I was here with a group from work along with one of our biggest vendors and everything everyone ordered looked and smelled unbelievably good. And everyone at the table had endless compliments on everything they ate. The live piano music is really wonderful too. If you go, ask if the chef can make the Arnold Palmer today . You'll thank me. Or at least your taste buds and stomach will thank me.
