Sulak Campground

This is a great campground for family, fisherman and hunters. It’s free first come first serve primitive camping. Sulak is located in the Manistee National Forest near the a Pere Marquette river.

FREE! Primitive and very spacious. Private dirt road, sites with picnic tables and fire pit. Vault toilet. Short walk across the road to the river.

Nice place to setup camp if you want to get away. I was last here 4 years ago and enjoyed it. They have 12 rustic campsites that are first come first serve and big enough for a 30 foot travel trailer.

Beautiful and peaceful! If you need to recharge this is a great place to do it!

Great free place to camp when spots are open, however when it rains everything turns to soup. Bring toilet paper or extra long sleeve shirts for the bathroom, not stocked. Forest service is too concerned with how many cars you have parked in a spot than refilling the tee pee.

I have camped here two time now and love that we end are camper at the end of the Kayak ride. Fast moving and lots of fishing.

Great little rustic campground with a short walk to the Pere Marquette River. All sites have a fire pit, picnic table, and a post for your lantern. Wildlife is abundant, so use common sense or else the bears, squirrels, etc will be into your lunch!

Place is nice, MOSQUITO HAVEN for the unprepared. Some lots are small, only a couple are big enough to fit a rig. We managed to fit our 30' motorhome backing in one of the spots. No water so have your fresh water tank filled

Very reasonable distance from GR. No charge for camping. Secluded spot to camp. Tons of beauty to be discovered. Wish we had kayaks! (Bring a shovel and tp though - no outhouse)

Very nice campsites when there is a breeze.

Been camping here long before it was a National Forest. Quiet, secluded, and a far cry from the 90's craziness. A great place to get away. DO NOT EXPECT QUIET ALL THE TIME. Some folks come out here to party.

Loved it! We had a great camping trip here. Very clean and quiet camp sites.

Joint national forest and dnr site. Camping is free. Sites have a table and a fire ring. It can be very busy between March and April. And September through October

Great place, secluded sites. There will be a $10 per night charge starting in May 2019.
