Hitchin Post Steakhouse & Grill

A great little place for Sunday lunch. We went after church and there were just a few regulars, not busy at all. Got service immediately, Mackenzie (sp?) was friendly and quick to get what we needed. Drinks were served immediately, she was patient as we muddled over the menu, and then got our food to us quickly.

The burgers and kids pizza were perfect. Meal sizes are significant. The appetizer sampler was great too- mozz sticks, potato skins, battered mushrooms, and corn nuggets. Epic. We'll definitely be coming back again. Next time I want to check out the dinner or pasta entrees, and some other apps like the fried onion petals.

The atmosphere is really cool, lots of rough hewn lumber and real wood paneling, neat vintage and rustic decor that is tastefully done, looks like a full bar too, with a variety of drink options; music playing in the background (not too loud, which was awesome).
When we left literally everyone working today thanked us for coming and invited us back again!

We might have to check the place out on Thursdays when we have our weekly date night. I hear they have live bands which sounds super fun.

While in my travels I looked on to Google to find places to eat when I stumbled upon The Hitchin Post steakhouse. We were happily surprised with the menu and choices starting off with soup of the day which was Italian wedding soup. It left you wanting more but knowing I needed to save room for the main course. I ordered flat iron steak dinner with mashed. My husband ordered the Post Steak with mashed. Everything was prepared wonderfully and service was fantastic. We topped off the night with carrot cake and ice cream. We exchanged kind words with the chef. We highly recommend.

The service was ok. But the food was great. We all sat outside which was great.

The bartender was friendly and great! He took our order and served us too, we had clams that were fantastic and pizza and wings were also great, definitely recommend this place we will be back!

Great food and friendly staff. Sit at the bar for a few drinks with friends or in the dining room for a more family friendly atmosphere.

Had our baby shower here and it was perfect! She was able to accommodate our large group of family and friends with the downstairs room and catered a delicious meal with our total headcount of 75 people! We come here for dinner and drinks often too and we're always pleased with the people, the service, and the atmosphere 🙂

Locals know the deal, and if I lived nearby I would stop in all the time. But as someone from out of town who is a regular traveller along I-88 I wanted to highlight that I do not think there is a better place to pull off and recoup. Great food, staff, and space. If you haven't been - cut the foreplay and give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Food & service was phenomenal! Will definitely be going back. The new owner took the time to visit our table and chat with us, very enjoyable dining experience.

Love this place. I just tried it for the 1st time. I had the Italian trio which has chicken parm., Manicotti, and meatballs all covered in mozzarella. It was delicious! The serving size was enough for two people to share, there was tons of cheese, it was just perfect! I especially like the marinara which was nice and tangy with a slight bitterness (from tomatoes) and a good amount of sweetness. I'll definitely be coming back.

What a nice place. Food was good service was good and the people are so nice. Def going back. I just read another review complaining about the service. I was very surprised after how attentive they were with us. Guests need to remember that the pandemic makes it very difficult on small businesses. We should all try to be grateful and have more patience.

Wow! Passing through from upstate NY to MD and stumbled across this place. Looks a little suspect from the outside but once you pass through the doors the hospitality and the food are out of this world. The Buffalo cauliflower is perfect and the burgers are huge. Definitely a good place for a pit stop if you’re in the area!

Seafood Buffett was amazing. Best clams!!everything was fresh. Totally worth it.

Went here for dinner on a Monday evening and had such an awesome dining experience! John, our server, was very attentive and helpful, and even helped me out when I questioned if there were any vegetarian options. He went and got the chef who was super kind to me! She created a totally new meal for me that was incredibly delicious! Wonderful experience and would highly recommend :)

Amazing food. Friendly people. Love the atmosphere there. Food served fresh and hot. Cheap drinks at bar. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and want to try something different.

Amazing food and pleasant atmosphere. If you remember it as a bar, it is far more than that now. Try their Friday night seafood buffet or the Saturday night Italian buffet. The bacon wrapped scallops are to die for. See their Facebook page for the new winter menu and nightly specials.

Feels like the country hospitality everyone wants!!! The food was great and the price was great!!! We will be coming back often.

Good food, great small town atmosphere. Worth the drive if you don't live there. Owner is always involved never had a bad time or meal there

Food is very good. Had a large surprise Birthday party for my husband here. It was great. Owner extremely accommodating. Prices are reasonable . Highly recommend
