The Philadelphian

This is the epitome of a hole in the wall restaurant. However, I would not come for the atmosphere, I would come for the food. The sandwiches are large and full of flavor. They have large portions of freshly sliced roast beef and freshly sautéed mushrooms and peppers. It is all made to order. The sandwiches come in many lengths. The fries are homemade and come with fry sauce. Definitely will be going back again.

Their Philly steak is so delicious! The place looks a bit ghetto but the atmosphere is good and their services is great. Their fried mushrooms are tasty as well. I will definitely come back to try other steaks.

Meat filled cheesesteak deliciousness! No skimping on meat here. A great value! Nearly a true Philadelphian steak, but was missing the whiz. Otherwise this is our go to place for an authentic cheese steak packed with loads of beef! Meatball was also tasty. We'll be back!

This was hands down the best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had. And I love pastrami sandwiches. I got the pastrami with provolone and all the garnishes—onions, peppers, pickles, lettuce. It was so unbelievably tasty. The cashier recommended I eat it with the au jus sauce which was an amazing recommendation. Do NOT hesitate to eat here. Atmosphere is simple, lowkey, fun…love this place. Will be returning.

Down to earth little restaurant. Love the easy going fun loving attitude that permeates the environment. Had the Philadelphian and the Phili burger with pastrami. Both excellent sandwiches. The fries and onion rings were good too. Loved the fact that the onion rings had the texture of a chewy donut. Not for everyone but I am having them again.

Always a great meal and experience. Love the Philly Steak and Cheese with onion rings!

The best cheesesteak I've had since living in Philly. Amazing, authentic atmosphere that makes you feel like you have been transported from Sandy to Broad Street. Place gets packed during lunch hour so make sure you give yourself enough time.
Prices are very reasonable too.

This is the best Philly! Everytime I'm up in the Sandy area I find an excuse to come here. Best food for the buck!

On a Philly Cheese steak hunt and decided to try out The Philadelphian! I ordered over the phone and then went for pickup. The staff was very nice and welcoming. the restaurant wasn't open for dine in at the time and also limited the number of people while ordering to align with Covid guidelines. We ordered the Philadelphian Steak - Steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions, smothered with Provolone cheese and The Pepper Steak - Steak, sauteed bell peppers and onions with provolone cheese. Would definitely like to go back and try other items from the menu again!

This is the place to go. I bought an 8" super philly with battered mushrooms. I loved it. It also helps that, though we hadn't gone in a while, one of the guys (Josh) there remembered us by name. Take that Subway. (Two years later) I came back to this review because, after all this time, I still love this place. The battered mushrooms are still amazing, and even though it might be months between visits, Josh still hasn't forgotten our names. This is one of the few places in the world that deserves to have a line out the door.

This place is a must go to! I feel like so many people don’t know about it and they need too! Every time I go here the food is amazing. I will say you go for the food not the location. But the food is worth it! Just trust me!!!

The epitome of a “greasy spoon.” But they make a delicious sandwich! My wife had the 6” turkey, and I had the 12” Philadelphian Steak sandwich. Both great. The 12” sandwich is made to be shared. It is huge!

Was able to stop in after hearing great things from friends. With the Covid situation, I had to take my meal to go. They had a decent system to ensure safety, and there was no wait when calling ahead. The Philly was great, but I believe it may have been better if I didn't have a 20 minute drive before eating. I really enjoyed the heat on the Pepper Philly, it was enough heat to add a solid flavor.

Great Philly sandwiches and sides. The onion rings we ordered were hand dipped and the Philly was very tasty. Had a meatball sub which was as good as a meatball sub can be.

Awesome food and the employees are always super kind! The interior is a little dated but who cares when the food is good?

I dare you to say there’s a better French Dip or Cheesesteak in the valley. There’s not. There is so much fresh, roasted, shaved beef in these subs you won’t know what to do with yourself. The bread is always so fresh and hot, soft and just slightly chewy. Yum!!! The meatball sub is also a hands down favorite. So good!

The Philadelphian is the only restaurant I know that sells English Chips—little fried nuggets of potatoey goodness. They’re so good! Portions are very generous.

The young men that staff this place are all real ones. They know what’s good, and they bring it every time.

This place is so nostalgic. I love their food and fry sauce. I get the Philly cheese steak with hot peppers and fries and put a little bit of fry sauce on every bite. Their fry sauce comes in a massive container.

When I am in the mood for a Fantastic Philley and Onion Rings that are hand dipped so they are like mini donuts. This is the place to go. They don't skimp on their sandwiches. It may look run down but you can't Beat the Food. The first responders eat here because you get your money's worth. AA+

This was our first visit, and boy were we in for a treat. The guys running the place were all so friendly and they rock that grill! We ordered the Philadelphian and the cheesesteak. Both were loaded with meat and flavor. The portions are very generous! We also ordered the English chips and the pillowy onion rings. All of it was amazing. And the fry sauce is very good. Once again the portion on that is also generous. We are already planning our next trip out to the Philadelphian. Do yourself a favor and try them out.
