We stopped by on our way back from Killington mountain. The museum, Leo the staff and the cheese was the best Vermont cheese I have had. It's a really unique and cool property in the middle of nowhere, but 8 to 10 minutes driving from Woodstock Vermont. We have had 3 different of their cheeses including the Lawsons sip of sunshine cheese which was really cool and tasty. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for usa history and loving cheese. We try all types of cheese and have had many local and small to big Vermont brands and this places cheese was incredible. You get free samples of the hunter cheese which was made in 2018 and today is 2023. President cooley made cheese here and that was cool.

Their hot pepper cheddar cheese is my FAVORITE! I always look at our local breakfast/lunch spot to see if they are selling it and when they are (and the hot pepper cheddar is in stock) I am delighted. Enjoying some right now and had to leave this review. Thank you for making amazing cheese!

This is an absolute must, if you are in or around the area, and first and foremost I would recommend the smoked or truffle cheese. We took our two kids here with a group of relatives, and came in at about 1pm, and did not leave until around 5pm. A pre-visit the day prior and discussions with Karen about the cheese, made us all want to come back and watch the making of cheese. Although a long process, we all (kids included) found it fascinating. And of course, we sampled the cheeses, curds, and other items along the way, which was great. Plymouth Cheese, also, have outstanding cheese. We bought/tried them all, and honestly, none of them disappointed.

Apparently second oldest cheese maker in VT. Friendly owner who opened up the store for us when his staff was out sick. We bought a bunch of their cheeses and other local goodies. From mild to sharp these cheeses are spot on. Also, look for the “ends” for a great deal on the same cheese.

Karen the Cheese Fairy is lovely! So knowledgeable, excited to share and feels like your best friend all within moments of meeting her. The cheese is to die for and they even ship the cheese, I’m thinking holiday gifts for sure!

Sarit and Jessie are INCREDIBLE! I usually find cheddar boring…but they take it to a whole other level—their hot pepper cheddar is now my favorite cheese. Great to meet a couple like S+J who are so passionate about what they do and share it. Amazing customer service too. Highly recommend.

My out of town friend and I visited last weekend and what a great time we had! "Cari the cheese fairy" made the experience so much fun and, of course, the cheese is wonderful. Cari gave us ideas about different uses for the cheese flavors - can't wait to try lasagna with the Sage and Herb Cheese!! Learned a lot about the cheese making process and cheese itself. As a local, I will bring visitors back again and again. It was a cool, rainy day when we visited, so of course, we came home and made the best grilled cheese sandwiches!! Thank you for reviving a Vermont Classic!

I regret not asking the name of the wonderful lady that was working when we were there, I can only assume by reading other reviews that her name is Cari. Please let her know that the family from KY thank her for being so sweet, informative and kind! She made our very spontaneous trip, way off course, worth it.

This stop off the beaten path is SO WORTH IT. This is the second oldest cheese maker in the country, the cheese is delicious, the site is historically interesting, and the town, quintessential New England. I look forward to my Vermont trips and always stop in. You should do the same.

Bought the sharp cheddar at a pop-up shop in Bridgewater at the old mill. The
‘’Cheese Fairy” told us what to buy. Amazing cheese. Shared with my Mom, she said it was the best cheese she’s had in years. She is 86 and knows her cheese. Thank you Cheese Fairy!

Absolutely phenomenal cheese. So glad to have visited. The staff is knowledgeable, very friendly, and the cashier had a wickedly good sense of humor. Will definitely visit on future trips as well as order online for a cheese fix.

Stopped by for cheese and left as friends.

First things first. This is some of the best cheese you'll every try. They variety is truly amazing. On top of that. Each kind is AMAZING. the truffle one knocked socks clear across the room. The aged 12 month cheddar is so sharp it could cut glass. The smoked one rivals a good scotch in its smoky-ness. It's not a like a diner. Where a diner can make everything but only so-so. Their variety is amazing because each type is AMAZING. The time and effort they've put in to ensure the whole selection is apparent. No phoning it in here.

On top of it all our car quit life in their lot and they welcomed us as their own until a tow truck showed. Good folks, good conversation, lots learned and then THE CHEESE !!!

We were a bit skeptical about going because of the reviews we read, but were pleasantly surprised at the excellent customer service! Cari was super warm and welcoming and knew a lot about the history in the area and their awesome cheese! Thank you Cari!
