Great RV park. Sites are more spacious than other RV parks we've been to. Beautiful foliage views in October and we enjoyed our site right on the river. Quick ten minute drive to grocery store (Shaw's) and some nice local restaurants even closer.

Central vt finest campgrounds. Only 3 min outside of randolph. Reasonable rates. Many walking and hiking trails. Holiday sponsored cookouts and live performances through out the season.

Abel Mountain Campground was a great stop for us. The most impressive was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They must clean them throughout the day as they were spotless. The tent site was nice, on plush grass and the electricity was great to charge our phones for the next day. The staff was very friendly. On Saturday night they had a band play down at the gathering spot and it was great! They gave rides to families/kids on their tractor, which was pulling a hay ride behind it. All in all a great time!

Very nice RV park. Super easy sites to get in and out of. Wide open spaces and great things to do for the kids. Hiking, playground, pool and a river to float down give endless hours of fun in the sun.

We just returned from 3 nights camping here and it is a really great place! We had our 2 grandchildren and we were right across the pool. We spent time in the river cooling off! The bathhouse with the showers is exceptionally clean and the bathrooms near the pool are clean. It's a very quiet campground, we will be returning! Thank you for providing us campers with an excellent campground!

This is a hidden gem in Vermont. We have stayed here several times and each time it is a different experience. The nice woman who runs the campground, Sylvia, has 3 adorable pups that never leave her side. The white river runs through the edge of the campground with about 40 sites along the water. There are live bands on Saturday nights, a pool, biking/hiking trails, pet friendly and you can tube down the river at a lazy pace. There are plenty of things to do locally (wineries, breweries, maple syrup farm, and waterfall tours. The prices are comparable to most campgrounds and the kids had fun. We will be back!

We enjoyed our 2 week stay at lot 70. The sites are extremely spacious. The owners and seasonal campers were very welcoming and kind to us. The hiking path is quite a workout. Highly recommend!

Sylvia and Ken are wonderful! It was just the 2 of us and our pup and we had a fantastic experience in our RV at Abel Mt. Super clean bathrooms and showers, the grounds are constantly being maintained and everyone was happy and helpful no matter the weather! Definitely will add it to our "Let's go back there!" list. Thank you to all the folks there who made our stay perfect!

Abel Mountain Campground is now one of our favorites! The owners are very friendly and take exceptional care of the sites .. which are larger than most campgrounds. Tubing on the river was an added plus and the pool was pristine! We will definitely return next summer with the grandchildren! Awesome place!

Wow! We love this place in the heart of Vermont. Spacious with a site that backed up to the crystal clear creek with a mountain behind. Water, sewer, 50 AMP, and excellent WiFi. They had us complete the registration online ahead of time, so check-in was super simple. We loved driving around Vermont back roads. They do not allow billboards in the state, so all the forests are all you see. We will definitely stay here again. The only thing is if you come from New York directly from the east be prepared to take some windy two-lane roads.

Amazing atmosphere as soon as you enter the property. Does not feel closed off and impersonal, as some parks do. Staff is great and guests seem to all have a great time. With live music every Saturday throughout the summer and a lazy river nearby, you cannot go wrong with this place! We will be back! If you find a parking spot for my truck for 4th of July weekend, that's all I need! I'll pop the tent in the back and I'm good to go....

We camped in a motor home with a jeep in tow. Plenty of room. Sprawling property with good amenities. Surrounded by trees. Walking trials. Close to quaint towns in central Vermont. Nice owners were very helpful.

Been coming here for years. It's the gold standard for us that we use to compare others against. Enough attractions to make it interesting but not so "in your face" about it like a KOA. Flat spots that are just the right size, most have some shade, and a lot along the brook. Owned and run by really nice people, too.

The owners, Ken and Sylvia, of Abel Mountain RV Park are exceptional! Very gracious hosts! They have gone above and beyond in accommodating all of our needs. Our site has wonderful views and the park is suitable for ALL ages from swimming, hiking, walking, kids play park, shuffle board, etc. In addition, the park's planned weekend activities from bingo to evening bands performing live music is a special extra treat that all the guests look forward to. The guests just love this vacation spot gem 💎 We are thrilled with our stay here and wouldn't hesitate to staycation here again!!

Awesome campground with wonderful staff! Sylvia was warm and inviting when I stepped into the office last night. They had a community fire burning and we hung got to warm up in front of it. Also, the shower/bath room was immaculately clean and the water was HOT!
I would definitely recommend this campground!

5 star for RV camping- clean, friendly staff, activities, pool is pristine, and the river is just gorgeous. We camped during the week and it was wonderful. However.... Friday came and this place really fills up with huge RVs. I guess this is typical for a campground in this day and age. If you are tenting and looking for a primitive experience, this is NOT the place for you. If you go, try to get a spot along the river. The sites (everywhere, not just along the river) are all large and roomy. I want to mention one more time how clean this place is... the showers and toilets were immaculate and I liked that the owner was in there cleaning at 5 AM and not in the middle of the day when people wanted to use it.

Great campground in the middle of Vermont.
Many places to see and visit within a 1/2 hour drive. Large spacious sites with full hookup at great rates. Large heated pool, very clean bathhouse. One can hike mountain trail or just relax by the river. It is a pet friendly campground to all. Will recommend it to faimly and friends.

Abel Mountain Campground is a beautiful location and has clean facilities. Driving through Vermont during early spring my husband and I decided to stop at this campground due to its high trip advisory rating and location. It is located centrally in Vermont to make it the perfect launching point for touring. We originally payed for two nights, then discovered how great the facilities and location were we stayed for an additional two nights.
Pros
Location is central. Waterbury 45min. Burlington 1 hour. Montpelier 30min. Woodstock 40min.
The hosts are helpful with activities in the local area and are considerate of needs. In fact we were staying during Mother's day and they gave each woman a carnation.
The campground has nice flat grassy camp spots, no camping on gravel. There is with each site a fire pit, picnic table, water, electric, cable, and some sites sewer. The campground has a playground, picnic pavilion, and communal fire pit. Friday night we were invited to the communal fire. They sale firewood and have a laundry house. The bathrooms are centrally located and well lit at night. These bathrooms were the cleanest for a campground I have seen. The shower stalls each had a changing area attached with plenty of hooks. Also plenty of hot water.
Behind the office is a small bridge over the creek with a small amount of hiking trails that look perfect for kids to explore.
Cons
Cell phone coverage is minimal, but the idea of camping is to get away from technology.
Overall fantastic campground!

We spend the season here. It is the most relaxing respectful campground we have been to! Love that it is pet friendly, great entertainment schedule, super clean, great spot for family get together and functions and awesome pool that our grandchildren absolutely loves....especially our grandson that is only going to be 2 this summer that has no fear and is ready to swim because of his Abel Mountain Campground experience! Thank you for such a wonderful place!!!
