The Colonial Motel

Moving back to the area the Uhaul I drove broke down in front of this business. A senior disabled single female I stayed 17 days here while waiting for my new place to be ready for my move in.For a motel of this age it is ok.Had a microwave and fridge. My pets were welcome but each week I was charged a pet fee. Total $130./17 days for my small dog The internet rarely was working i spent more time reconnecting than it was worth After calling the office several times with issues staying on I was told yes they knew and she was trying to fix it.The next day the owner call the room to say nothing was wrong with the internet it was all on my end..?? I reconfigured my internet connection and still received a message cant connect to the internet.Dont stay here if you will need internet. At one time they had 2 different networks the guests could access both had different speeds according to the properties of each. The housekeeping service was available to assist me and serviced my room when I needed something. However, I gave up on waiting for the clock to have a battery put in it so I put one in it myself. Also provided my own plug for the tub. upon discovering I did not have my phone charger the management was helpful in loaning me one
Having to wait another 2 days for my residence to be ready I am Moving to a different motel where I have no pet fee and no struggles getting online where I can get my tasks done and lower my blood pressure.

Great prices and atmosphere. Very friendly staff and clean pleasant rooms. Room came equipped with resident kitty we called Mr Douglas.

It's a cute motel so the rooms are different and cozy!!! We came here and found the manager and the house keeping were very accommodating and very nice and they sterilize the entire room and bathrooms so when you check in you can be assured that your room is clean and safe..

I spent two weeks at this motel. It was a friendly experience. The owner offered me a weekly rate which certainly helped my wallet. The housekeeper was friendly and they even have a gas grill available for cooking. I would certainly stay here again no questions asked.

I was heading through Weiser on my Harley a week or so ago but before leaving Salt Lake (via Denver where I live) I looked for Weiser-area motels (I figured I’d make it to the Ontario area in 1 day on my ride to Pendleton from SLC, but I’d heard about the good pheasant hunting in the Weiser area & wanted to check that out so I made a little detour off I-84) & saw that among only 3 motels there in Weiser that the Colonial was given a 1-star rating, despite the owner having pictures up of a pretty nice-looking place there. When I arrived in Weiser what I found though (all good) is prompting me to write this A+ review after seeing that Google has strangely given it only a 1-star. BUT when you click on the Reviews button I saw 2-3 definite high-stars & only 1 low-star for this motel, which Google's computers have goofily averaged down to a 1 star, which is the first rating that people see without clicking on the "Reviews" button, where they'll see that it's NOT 1-star but more like 4 or so. Bad math, man. One of those Google people should get out of their cubical at lunch & go drop by a Dollar Tree & pick up a buck calculator & then do the math. A buck calc would get it right where Google’s got it wrong for my new friends up there. So I'm writing this to put some justice in here for Kerry & Veria and to point out that Google's screwed up their star-rating math. And besides, both Kerry & Veria are cruiser bikers too, so we gotta hang & help each other when we can, right? ;-)

When I got to Weiser around dusk noisily tooling down the quiet tree-lined Main Street I could see the Colonial's sign in the sky off in the distance, and I could see that it was only a couple of blocks or so further into what looked like Weiser's downtown area. So seeing how nice the place looked in person I decided to take a chance & park my bike at their guest front door for an inquiry. Several cars & other bikes were parked in front of rooms there too, so that’s a good sign plus I was in good bike-lover company! GLAD I STOPPED! GREAT PRICES that Kerry & Veria have for their rooms there & with its perfect location in town, and in spite of it being an older but well-built building there in Weiser (there ARE no brand-new motels in that town!) I was given a nice well-furnished room with a TV, fridge, microwave, cable, bath & shower of course, and free high-speed internet for the night, which worked really well for my business-from-the-road stuff I had to get done that evening (had my laptop out in the motel's grassy area) & next morning. I had no problems with the internet, and I had only FAST trouble free connections.

A couple of the most pleasant things I experienced during my stay there that evening through late the next morning is a really cool little hamburger & shakes drive-in (and sit down) restaurant called Jeb’s right over the motel’s nice looking tall wood fence, and a bowling alley with food & drinks that’s right around the other corner from the motel, and I could walk into downtown for a brew or for breakfast and coffee at several restaurants down there, or walk to Weiser’s tree-filled city park, all within 4-5 minutes walking time. And I saw that there's a Christian & an LDS church right across the street, too. Great location especially for families!

Me & my riding buds will definitely stay there again on our next roadtrip or two (or three) this summer, if for no other reason than to drop by & say hi to Kerry & Veria again & maybe go for a spin with them on their bikes to nearby Cambridge or Ontario or wherever. And I'll definitely recommend to my other biker buds & my car driving friends who are driving through or near Weiser about that 5-star gem compared to what I saw were the only other 2 pretty shabby-looking motels available there in Weiser (which inexplicably to what I saw have high stars), both of which were far from downtown Weiser & had nowhere near the amenities around them that the Colonial motel has.
So anybody wants to know, you can't go wrong for an overnighter or two there at the Colonial in Weiser!
