Everything from top to bottom was amazing. Coming from Las Vegas, NV which is known for having some of the “best” steakhouses and top notch service industry, I was blown away. Outstanding Service from all of the ladies and one gentleman when I walked in. Katie helped me tonight and gave the best service. I ordered the prime rib, and holy COW. By far one of the best prime ribs I’ve ver had. This is a “must visit” gem. Prices are very reasonable.

Awesome place and food! My husband had the New York strip and it was tender and mouth-watering. I had the half chicken and it was delicious. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert. Prickly pear margarita hit the spot after a hot day in Silver City. Going into the opera house was an awesome experience as well. The live music was great too! Look forward to coming back one day!

Prime rib was out of this world. The blue cheese dressing is amazing! Enjoyed the atmosphere. The ambiance is wonderful, and appeasing. Our servers were Heather being trained by Maya. Both were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I think the bartender was Maria, her drinks were made just right for those that were partaking. Made us all happy. Heather is a new server and she did an amazing job. However we felt that certain questions were asked to our table to see about her performance. We feel this may have been unnecessary, as for anyone starting out it’s new. She’s a great server, and she handled us very well. When we return, we will visit again.

Outstanding experience. Friendly staff in a historic environment. A real hidden gem in the wonderful State of New Mexico. Definitely in my top three steakhouses in the state.

Very busy place on a Friday night but absolutely worth it! Best chili soup I've ever had in my life, and im from Cincinnati where all we know is chili! Fantastic food and such a cool place to check out even if you are just having a drink. Easily the best place in town to visit.

Great place to hang out and get a quick bite. Service is great and the food is really good. Good choice of beers and other drinks. They make a really good drink here. People are friendly and the crowd is as well. They had live music when we were there which was a treat.

Lovely place for a special occasion dinner. My husband and I went here for a getaway last April. Classic dishes to choose from, beautiful historical building and ambiance. There was live music. Make sure to call to make reservations!

Here’s a little inside scoop, I got to wash dishes in this kitchen a year ago. You might not expect five star in little Pinos Altos, but this place is legit top notch. Clean, superbly organized and 100% dedication to fine cuisine. We ate here last night with family from Texas and everyone was blown away! Its a good idea to reserve a table ahead but if you’re lucky, you could eat in the bar section.

Some of you will feel the sense of history that hangs in the air here...
From the bar up in front that has probably seen a lot of crazy stuff over the years to the theater next door that connects, this place is great. Unfortunately we were there early and they were only serving drinks but next time we're back in pinos Altos we will be sure to come for dinner the menu looks great.

A special highlight was helping our bartenders get the margarita mix just right with the tequila and triple sec... Thanks ladies!

Buckhorn really exceeded our expectations! We weren’t sure if we were walking into a tourist trap given the location of the restaurant being in very cool saloon and opera house circa 1860 but decided it was worth a try. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of old fashioned to start. Then we split the green chile stew, that is something I’ll dream about for a long time! Absolutely delicious, served with a fresh, warm tortilla. I could eat that stew every day for the rest of my life! We split a wedge salad and the kitchen served it portioned on two plates, a pleasant surprise and high end service touch. My husband had the steak sandwich, the cut of steak was generous and the meat perfectly cooked/rested. I had the green chile chicken alfredo as a main and really enjoyed the fun regional take on the classic dish. The servers and bartender were lovely and attentive but didn’t rush the meal. Great atmosphere and food, we’d definitely recommend a stop here and look forward to going back!

The Buckhorn Saloon is busy for a reason! Definitely call to make a reservation if you can. Service was good despite a full house and the menu did not disappoint.

What we liked most: the atmosphere and food. We ordered a ribeye steak with green chiles, clam chowder, and the salmon.

Something that could make the experience better: we added the green chile to the ribeye, but I think the dish would be better elevated with a green chile garlic compound butter.

What a great place! It's a bit out of the way, but it's such a unique environment and it's great for celebrating. I absolutely want to attend a wedding in the opera house - it would be SO perfect!

The prices are high, but definitely worth it. The quality of the food is on par with the best restaurants in Albuquerque. The cocktails are EXPERTLY crafted too! I had a drink with gin and prickly pear syrup and it was the perfect balance of not-too-sweet and not-too-strong. My mom had a drink, something about Millie? It had cranberry, peach schnapps, and... something else. Anyway it was also very good! Both of us sipped on our 1 drink each for the entire hour we were there, and usually I go through at least 2-3 drinks which gets expensive, so I appreciated that for a $12 cocktail I was fine with just the one!

All of our food was brought out with good timing. The bread was great! I ordered the ribeye medium rare, which was perfectly cooked the first time. This sounds silly but HOW is the broccoli THAT GOOD? It was unbelievably tasty! My mom got the prime rib and said it was good, though we were surprised it didn't come with au jus or horseradish - but it was reportedly delicious enough without those accouterments that she didn't feel the need to ask for them! My brother had the green chile chicken alfredo, which honestly was overpriced for pasta, and could have been a larger serving for the price, but that's the only negative thing I could think of and it's a reach. Oh well also my mom was bugged that other people were seated before us and she didn't know why but like... OK Boomer 🙄

Anyway I want to write a play so I can have a show in the opera house now! If you're planning to get married, definitely pick this place and also please invite me 😁

The filet was melt in your mouth delicious and cooked to perfection! The mashed potatoes were tasty and real. My sister had the ribeye and she said it was delicious too. Everything was great but sauteed mushrooms would be a good addition to the menu.

Everyone at the Buckhorn Saloon and Opera House, except Jasmine, is amazing! The food is delicious, the service is top-notch, atmosphere is super cool and the history of the building and the artifacts is awesome. If you don’t have a good time here then something is seriously wrong with you. Best place for a meal in all of NM.

Just kidding about Jasmine, she’s amazing too.

I grew up running on the stage of the opera house, ate there nightly, sat next to that ole Joe, my daddy even sold BBQ from the opera house for a while. My step mom, Barbara was running the place back then, we lived right up the street at the curve in the big beautiful house on the left. My happiest childhood memories are held in the walls of the saloon and opera house!!! God, I miss you Barbara Cartee,
I LOVE YOU BUCKHORN SALOON & OPERA HOUSE!

We cannot speak high enough about the staff and management at the Buckhorn. They were generous in hosting our event stop at their location and were more than accommodating.

A mess of us surprised them with a few more folks then expected at dinner and they did an absolutely incredible job getting us taken care of. Their professionalism and impeccable customer service is some of the best I’ve seen. The food was delicious, hot and fresh.

We hope they will have us again in the future. Cheers to the bartenders who spent the day serving a whole grip of different people. Thank you ladies! Y’all were awesome!

Classic, highly polished dark wood interior saloon bar. It's bigger inside than it looks outside and serves a full dining menu. Just ride on up and hitch your horse outside and step back in time.
