It is so great to have this place in the mountains, especially for a snowy night. Property management team is extremely helpful to remove snows and helped with everything you requested. Excellent team and professional. Highly recommended. Location is excellent too.

Was very easy to check in and out. Parking was convenient right in front of our room. The beds were nice and the room was clean. We could tell it was an old building. The shower didn't drain very well, but everything else worked and it was a good place to crash for a night.

This was a great place for our little family! The room included one king size bed and two queen beds in separate room. Fire pits in the grass was awesome to sit by the fire and look at the lake!

I realize some people wouldn’t agree with us but, this was one of the most friendly and inviting stays we’ve encountered in years.
It’s truly a vintage little motel and by far one of our favorites.

The price is perfect, the location is spot-on, and our hostess was very obliging and attentive.
If you’re looking for a 5-star “Ritz,” this is not the place for you, move along and find something else.

We stayed here 5 years ago (2017) for our winter anniversary … it was so very quiet and quaint, just perfect for this retired couple!

Recently we booked the first week of August of 2022 to bring our youngest grandie-boys to enjoy Bear Lake, and kayak with them. This was absolutely ideal for them!
We had separate bedrooms, ample parking, and a little park for them to enjoy. We were able to walk to the local ice creamery for a late night shake and it was most pleasant!

Sadly, our hostess told us this will eventually be torn down and replaced with more “modern” accommodations, but frankly, we prefer the sweet nostalgia of the “Mom & Pop” era.

Please don’t take away this wonderful little treasure! There’s enough space to keep it, as well as the new facilities!

Thank you Amanda for your kindness and personal attention to detail.

Hoping to see you this winter!

The staff catered to my situation. My dog was welcome. Very friendly. Yes the motel is older but it's comfortable quiet and The scenery is beautiful. Also the restaurant Cody's next door has excellent food

Definitely a throw back motel with good bones. Snow plowing was less than desirable and the bathroom vent was pretty loud. Overall good place with a nice pizza place built into the property. Short drive to Beaver Mountain.

We come here every year, we love it! Amber, her husband, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best. A special shout out to Amber, she was wonderful! She invited us to a "Merica" party on the property that was so fun! There was a great band, (the singer was incredible!) delicious food from Cody's, and the fireworks were spectacular! Thank you so much to everyone, we love you guys!

Great little motel that allows dogs. Price was cheap and they had availability on short notice. Location is close to everything. Kids and dog enjoyed the courtyard area. Room wasn’t super nice but the beds were comfortable, the fridge worked and we had a full bathroom - everything we needed. No A/C but the 2 fans in the room were nice.

We stayed for the weekend and utilized 3 rooms for a family vacation. We loved the view and the grounds keepers and housekeeping staff were very attentive and friendly. The fire pits and games in the center allowed us all to be together in the evening to make smores. We loved being able to bring our dogs with us. Sam was so helpful in working with me on the reservations and the check in process was super convenient. We will be returning again!

A great place to stay in a great location. No air conditioning, just fans. I recommend bringing an additional fan. This was my 6th year staying there.

My daughter and I stayed here at the end of April. Staff was very helpful. Room was clean and the location is right next to the lake and down town. So you could walk to anything wanted. I don’t write many reviews but I was so impressed with the lodge that I had too.

It's located near five places to eat, all were good food too. The room was an older style but really clean and comfortable. Had fridge and coffemake for one cup at a time. Which was nice. The manager lives on property so he was there when we needed anything and was super nice. I enjoyed my stay.

Old, but the only motel in Garden City. Very close to "everything" Bear Lake. The staff was awesome! We needed two rooms, so we were assigned room #13. It was a great night's sleep. One problem is that door between the rooms was not a solid door - just slats. So since I snore, it would have been a little easier if it had been a solid door. But the beds were pretty far apart, so it worked. and I don't think it had AC - but Bear Lake doesn't need it in July or August. So no problem. They had fans. Also there was no fridge in our unit or microwave. We wanted a fridge so we asked them when we checked in if they didn't fill that night would they possibly get us one. And the did! Not saying that is possible for every time, but the staff made the extra effort and it prompted me to write this review! It was very quiet. I don't know what that other person was talking about the mattresses - mine was the best I have had in years. No, not a 5 star resort, but an awesome, clean older motel. View of the lake is wonderful. Location is perfect. Price was reasonable. What more do you need?

Sam was very friendly and helpful! All communication was fast, our dog was treated like family, and Sam made sure we had a place to park our trailer. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Also, the location is amazing! Overall, it was a great stay.

Loved the location, service, and that it was within walking distance to everything. The only this we had a hard time with was the room was very hot through the night and only had 1 electrical outlet.

They turned what was shaping up to be a vacation from hell into an amazing vacation!

Read through to the end. But if you don’t then the final takeaway is: If you have any sort of problem, call them! They will take care of you.

I suspect this property was recently taken over by a new property management company. I found it on google. It was a last minute booking for the cheapest room I could find in the area, so I was not expecting anything glamorous at all, just a room in the area I wanted to play in.

After the long drive up I was looking for a hotel, as google had it listed. The Bear Lake Motor Lodge. I could not find it. I found what I thought was it, but I couldn’t find the office. Google maps was pointing me to a vague spot in the parking lot. I did find a sliding door that I thought might be it, but it was labeled as something else. I went into the attached Pizza joint, but that seemed completely wrong. Finally I happened to see someone coming out of one of the rooms who I asked, and she pointed me towards the sliding glass door. I open the door and there is a little coffee station and lock boxes. Neither of the 2 emails I received mentioned anything about lockboxes (this is about where I start wondering if it is under new ownership). Anyway, so I call, and the woman tells me the lockbox and the code. I get my key, mildly annoyed, but happy it was taken care of quickly.

Then I open the room. It had obviously not been serviced between the previous tenant and us. Beds undone, trash full, bathroom in disarray, and another set of keys on the counter. After everything else that happened, and now this I was truly bracing for this to be the worst vacation experience ever. So, I called back, I probably sounded about as irritated as I was, which I feel bad about. I got a different woman this time but I explained the condition of the room, honestly expecting to just have to wait while it was cleaned real fast, or maybe get a discount. The woman on the other end was so very kind and apologetic, she asked me if she could call me back after she looked into something, I said that is fine.

Not more than 5 minutes later she called me back. She explained there was a miscommunication between herself and the room service person. I understand, mistakes happen, I am no longer irritated. (Customer service lesson to all, just explain what happened!). She then tells me she has a different, bigger room she is moving us to, no additional charge.

The new room was way more than we booked, and offered an excellent view of the lake, which the original room did not have. A couple small annoyances (which I didn’t even tell her about) followed by a big annoyance, and she went absolutely above and beyond and took care of us. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our room immensely.

If that wasn’t enough, our boy left his favorite stuffed animal behind. They were amazing enough to locate it, and send it back to us at no additional charge.

Trish turned my last minute, cheapskation, which was going south fast, into one of the most wonderful vacation experiences we ever had. She went above and beyond, more than once, and she deserves to be commended for her customer service! I will definitely come back. I wouldn’t even hesitate to book the cheapest room again. (or even bring the entire family and get the biggest room either).

My only suggestions to the new property owners: 1) Make the office more obvious. 2) Be sure to include the instructions for obtaining the room key in the booking confirmation email. Otherwise, I understand mistakes can happen. Thank you so much for turning it around and giving us such a positive experience. It was way more than we would have even considered.

Great and friendly staff! Family friendly area. My kids loved the swing set on site. Walking distance to just about anywhere. Great view! You can walk down to the beach too! Will be coming back and recommending to friends.

What you see it what you get. The team that oversee operations are very nice and helpful. There was parking for my boat. The room was large with plenty of room for the family. We enjoyed our stay and will come back again

First room was ok. 2 sinks is a bonus, got much more than we expected from this place for the price. Second room was much better and the person in charge was super friendly, never got his name but he was great and made our stay very easy and comfortable. The location is great as well perfectly central can walk essentially anywhere worth going to in Garden City itself.
