Was looking for a great spot off the highway to meet my mom for lunch and stumbled across Marieke Gouda / Cafe Duchess. Had an excellent experience with an excellent lunch! Bought some stuff from the shop before leaving as well. Can’t wait to go back again!

Tremendous value and quality. Love stopping here for breakfast while traveling on 29. Thank you all for making such amazing hash browns.

Staff is super nice. We have stopped here many times and always enjoyed it. Sometimes we enjoy a full lunch, burger, grilled cheese or Mac and cheese (my son loves it here), fries are nice and crunchy. The cheese curds are pretty darn delicious too. Not greasy and the breading has a nice crunch. Hard for us to stop and pick up some cheese without grabbing a bite to eat. This last time it was just a quick snack with cheese curds and fries and it was served quick and we were on our way! And during the summer there is a nice patio area to sit, plus a jump area for kids and a must is visiting the cows and baby calves!

Amazing fried cheese curds. They use New Glarus beer for their batter. The dip is ok, but we also got the cheese plate and dipped the curds into the dill spread that came with that, the ice cream was pretty good too.

Stopped in for lunch two days ago with my wife and sister, everyone thought their sandwiches were great, service was good, prices were reasonable. We liked the cheese shop.I will be back for sure.

This quaint cafe inside Marieke Gouda is definitely worth a stop. The menu has great selection - all with their made-fresh gouda. Our service was quick, food was hot, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of eating inside this can't-miss cheese destination.

Great find right off Rt29. Fun aspect of road trips is lucking out and finding unique spots like this to eat. We enjoyed our lunch. They have a nice selection of fresh, healthy options. Cafe was very clean, and everyone was friendly. 👍

Fantastic stop for lunch during our roadtrip. Excellent burgers, salads and wraps all reasonably priced plus a cute shop with a wide variety of cheeses and other items.

My kids loved the big trampoline out back (free for paying customers) and the viewing area where we could watch the cheese being made and cows being milked. Definitely 5 stars.

Always love coming to Cafe DUTCHess. Food and staff are amazing, and I love that they have Monthly specials. Went there today for the gouda and beef sandwich with some tomato soup and it was perfect for this chilly fall weather. Would highly recommend🙂

Awesome Burger and Salad. Had the bacon Colby burger. I swear it was the BEST burger I have eaten in my entire life. And I eat keto and pretty much eat only meat, so I eat a lot of burgers. They don't have side salad and the sides were not keto friendly, so I ordered the $6 lunch size salad...and it was totally worth $6. Really folks! The homemade ranch dressing was thick and creamy. The salad was huge and delicious, especially the sesame seeds. I can't wait to come back through Thorp again. You can bet I'll be enjoying this amazing meal again.

Super duper food. Mac & cheese was real gouda/gourmet. My kids loved it, my friend's did not. Service was slow, but expected these days huh? Thanks!

Really great sandwiches of all sorts! Almost all have Gouda cheese in a starring role. Good prices, and you can take some home too!

Note, don't be calling the fries, chips. You will get crisps (chips). But the burger is so good I didn't care.

Had a mushroom and gouda omelet. It was the best omelet ever. Cooked to perfection 🥰.
