Skagway Ferry Terminal

Skagway is a beautiful city that lies right on the ocean. Highly recommend this as the one not to miss. Beautiful city.

I was on a motorcycle as a stand-by vehicle. I was the very first one loaded into the ferry. People in town said that motorcycles always get squeezed onto the boat, which was great for me.

The employees were very good at their jobs. They seamlessly played car/ truck/ RV/ trailer Tetris to optimize all the space. On my particular ferry, every single how vehicle was loaded including every stand-by vehicle despite being “completely sold out.”

You will want to call ahead to get in line to be the earlier stand-by vehicles. I wouldn’t wait til day of if you know you want to take the ferry. Getting there early will not help you- they go by reservation number.

They have compensated for the rocks, light impressively, actually you get closer to town now where you dock
