We came to Skagway twice doing a back to back cruise. Our first time in the port we did the train ride which was incredible. Our 2nd time in the port we did a hike to Goldrush cemetery and then came back and explored the town area. We rewarded ourselves for all the walking with a treat from Klondike Doughboy. The line was long, but moved quickly and was worth the wait.

Very nice little town! Can get the White Pass Train from here. Very clean and well kept with a nice shopping vibe. It's a 1/4 mile walk from where the cruise ships dock, into town but an easy flat walk.

You must take the Yukon train excursion here while in town, $150 per person, but it’s worth the trip going to the top of the mountain with the fantastic view.

Nice Port. Good terminal. There was a landslide, but it’s all repaired. Took the train tour into Yukon, amazing views.

Skagway is nice historical little Alaska town, it’s actually a National Historic Park managed by US National Park Services. I did a pre-dinner walk of the town for about 1.5 hours before the dinner on Cruise ship. Local establishments are most closed around 7pm, except a few gift shops and some pubs.

Saw a whale and bunch of orcas at the cruise terminal itself. The whales and orcas at the terminal hung around for hours, which is much better than the separate whale watching tour we went on the previous day.

When getting of the ship it's about a 2 mile walk to the town . Shuttles as re available and the skagway train excursion is right . I would definitely the 28 mile round trip through the mountains surrounding skagway. It takes you through the gold mining areas and tells the story of how the railroad was build . The views are amazing. There is a a out a 15 minute delay at the end of the line as the engine is switched from front to back to get you back to town. The train drops you off in the tourist area. Skagway is most interesting port of call the year round population is only about 400.

No concerns with the cruise terminal in Skagway. It was clean and conveniently located to the areas we wanted to visit. Never had any concerns for safety as we walked about visiting the shops. Definitely get the all day shuttle service as it’s convenient way to make your way to and from the shops with very little waiting. When we were there, it was only five dollars per person for the day. Definitely worth it.

We visited Skagway in July 2018, weather was very warm. We enjoyed walking thru the town while waiting on our excursion. Got to see harbor seal right next to the cruise ship.. pretty cool..

Skagway, AK was our 3rd stop of our eleven day Princess Cruise Alaskan adventure. Viewed the Mendenhal glacier, with the same tour bus taking us to Whitehorse on the Yukon River and back to cruise port to begin a 4 day journey navigating between the mountains of the Alaskan Inside Passage, then out to the open ocean across the Alaskan Gulf to the deep water port of Whittier where we begin a 4 day adventure through the Alaskan interior by train to Talkeetna, Denali and then by bus to Mount McKinley Lodge.

Loved the old Town feel. Loads to shop for, we didn't eat outside the ship.

One of my most favorite ship terminals. Walkways lead right up to the city and ready to find again since the city is opposite to the terminal. Nice to walk on the wood dock, giving an authentic feel!

From the free shuttle to the friendly people this was a fun stop. So glad to have been able to sneak in before the season was over.
