Chives Restaurant

We had the opportunity to have lunch at Chives. Everything was wonderful. The food was delicious, the server did a fantastic job despite being very busy, and the atmosphere was great. The location within the Suamico downtown is amazing. Stop by when you get a chance, you’ll be glad you did!!!

I was invited to join a friends group at the chefs table. It was fantastic! Portions are small enough to enjoy a six course meal and you leave full! They accommodated the last minute notice of my Gluten free diet restrictions and I had two substitute courses that were just as fabulous as the rest of the group. Thanks for a lovely night and a wonderful experience in your kitchen.

A chic restraunt located in the Vickery Village of Saumico that offers a revolving menu as well as their standard lunch and dinner options. Their food tastes as great as it looks, and drinks are made to Wisconsin standards. A must stop if you're in the area.

Topline: Chives had yummy drinks, creative food and friendly service. I’d recommend it if you find yourself in the area. We ended up ordering personal soups and then 2 small plates and 1 medium plate to share.
Pro: Upscale casual ambiance, shareable food, sat quickly even on Saturday, Peach Moscow Mule (perfect balance of sweet peach and spiced ginger), excellent French Onion Soup.
Con: Noisy, some seasoning was a little off (too much / not enough salt).

I got the open face ribeye sandwich. Let me tell you, I think about it from time to time since as well. Exceeded all my expectations. The calamari was probably the best stuff I've had to date! The fam all enjoyed their meals as well. My wife enjoyed the blood orange martinis a little too much. Looking forward to our next visit. May replace our anniversary spot (Rivers Bend) with Chives.

So it was our first visit.

We kayaked the Suamico River during the day and stopped at Station 1 just before our reservations for 1.

Food was on top! Server was very nice and casual- like talking to a good friend. My wife got the stuffed ravioli and I got the Swordfish because I just grilled some badass steaks the night before. Otherwise, I would've gotten the aged steak for sure.

Cocktails were amazing, and a lot like we make them at home so we felt at home (old fashioneds).

Will certainly be back. Great everything.

Amazing meal! We got in town and called to make a reservation and they said the first available was at 8:30. We thanked them and said that we would come again. Started looking for another place for dinner and about 15 minutes later Chives called back and said that they had a cancellation and could take us at 7:15. I call that above and beyond customer service.

The meal did not disappoint. We were told by locals that this was the place to go and wow, were they right.

One word to describe this place…..amazing!

And I have one word for you the reader of this review……GO!! You will love Chives!!

First time here and the bone in NY strip was phenomenal. We had the crab cakes and bread for me and my beautiful wife. The crab cakes were moist and cooked perfectly. The 7 grain bread and the French bread doesn't get any tastier. My wife had the filet cooked perfectly. The service was perfect. Drinks were full and wasn't always being bothered by the server. He was awesome. To end she had the cookies and ice cream and I had the banana cheesecake. If you've been thinking about going here please do you will not be disappointed. From Appleton it was about 10 minutes past cabelas and the stadium right off the hwy. We will definitely be back in the very near future.

Wonderful dining experience. Chives was recommended to us by business partners and did not disappoint. Everything we tried was top notch.

We had heard of this place from friends as a “sister restaurant” of RYE Restaurant, our favorite Appleton restaurant! So of course we had to try—and we’ll be back!

Like RYE, they have nailed approachable fine dining. Comfortable dining room, excellent service (our server was Michael 👏👏👏, but the whole staff was very attentive and courteous), and the food was creative and delicious!

We enjoyed a few specials for the evening, along with the French Onion Soup!

The past couple years we felt Chives just wasn’t as good as it used to be in terms of food and service after original owner sold. The past few visits over several months have been fantastic. The food was much more inventive and love the healthier more creative options with such escalation in flavor. We never order deep fried appetizers. It was good to see a few things not fried. We were all pleased with the meaty crab cakes and salads. We typically order the grilled fish-the past few times it was fish rarely offered at most restaurants-ocean bass and ocean trout. It was fresh and flavorful! Finally fish done well and not overcooked or fried! They paired it well with creatively prepared vegetables and greens. One person in the group ordered a more basic/plain meal and got steak. Tender and cooked to order. The wine list was very good. Highlight drink was the blood orange martini. Not sweet, fresh and served with amazing garnish. The crème brûlée was also perfect. Clearly homemade with quality ingredients. We were greeted immediately and our service was superb right up until we left. They’ve upped their game. Feels like a standout place again. I hope it lasts. My only suggestion would be to keep the storage room door closed. Atmosphere is so important to the overall dining experience.

Wonderful experience. Went to lunch with friends to celebrate my birthday.
Very friendly atmosphere. Great service and tasty food. I recommend the Ultimate BLT and salad with French vinaigrette.

Stopped for lunch and the server was amazing! Quick, attentive, and friendly. We got the trio, which came with a salad, baked French onion, and grilled cheese. It was amazing! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Highly recommend

Chives was SO cozy. My family has season tickets to the Packers and this has been on my dad’s list to visit for quite some time. We finally made the visit and everyone loved it! We were all so surprised by how good the cocktails were (shout out to the mixologist)!

Two of us had the Filet, which was a fine quality cut and prepared to perfection. Vegetable medley had a terrific texture. All in all, great experience. We haven't been there in several years, but we will definitely be back on a more regular basis!

We had our best friend's memorial here, as it was he (Ove's)and his wife's Nancy's favorite restuarant when at home. Staff was incredible, food was excellent. Photo's are from around their place In The Village. Thank you for making an otherwise sad occasion memorable. They do happier occasions too!

Oh my gosh. So, Chives was a Google find while looking for places to celebrate a birthday. I called for a reservation and Luke was super friendly. We arrived and our table was ready. Megan was our server and was so fun, attentive, and friendly. She had recommendations and paced our celebration dinner perfectly!!

We ordered the Trio Appetizer to try a little bit of everything! The crab cake was crabby, the mushroom bruschetta is how bruschetta should be done, and the wontons were crispy and creamy. Then we got the Asparagus Salad with poached eggs...WOAH!! The textures and combination of flavors was fantastic!!

For our main entrees, we ordered the Swordfish and the Steak Fritte. Two words...MINDS. BLOWN. The Swordfish was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor! The Steak Fritte was enhanced with the Niman Ranch New York Strip. The garlic butter was so freakin' good...and the salad it comes with was perfect to balance the flavors.

Then to celebrate, we ordered the Belgian Chocolate Chip Cookies. Megan put a candle in it for the birthday. The cookies were warm, the hit fudge was some if the best we've had in a long time and the ice cream was smooth!

Chives is definitely now on the short list of recommendations and we can't wait to get back!! The service, the food...everything - totally worth it!!

I've eaten at Chives frequently, and they always have fantastic food and generous portions. Most recently, they catered my wedding!! Their entire team was so professional and they made sure our guests were well fed the entire night. It was great working with them -- as a pretty type A person, it can be hard for me to let go, and it was AMAZING not having to worry about the food component for the evening. We got so many compliments on the food and they really went above and beyond every step of the way (even going so far as to add the fresh fruit we supplied to our cake when the bakery couldn't).

One of the many great local places in the Green Bay area. My wife had the chicken marsala and I had the ultimate BLT. Both were fantastic! Our server Katie, was very polite and professional. Lots of bottled beers and some local brews from the area.

Always a favorite stop for great fine dining. Friendly laid back staff! On this visit our waiter, Yura, was wonderful and a truly patient server. He handled a specialized request and drink mishap beyond my expectations! Thank you for a great night!
