By far the best food we have had! This Five Star Dive Bar will not disappoint. We went on a Sunday night so it wasn't busy which was perfect and we were able to talk to all the staff including the chef. Very friendly and welcoming.
The food: We had the Cajun scallops with a dipping sauce for the App. Then New Orleans Pasta and Grouper and Crab Cake for our main meals. Incredible food and left very full. Portions were perfect for the price.

Gourmet food in a dive bar setting! The sea bass was the best I've ever had. They did sell out of a few dishes while we were there on a busy Saturday, FYI if you go expecting a certain dish. The filet looked amazing and I want to come back to try this sometime. Save room for dessert at the end - if you're lucky enough to get key lime pie, it's creamy and not too tart and worth the calories. We also had top notch service from Alexa the moment we walked in!

Wow. What a place.

Description on the website is spot on- dive bar with great food, or something on those lines.

The food is not just great, it's amazing. Not the type of amazing that you would get in normal bar food, this place is elevated. All staff replying thank you chef, commenting 'on your left chef' as they walk by. 75% of the bar is a typical Wisconsin bar, but it's what happens in the remaining 25% that is mind blowing.

Service is very good, and staff is friendly. I just can't help but repeat how surprised we were even though we kind of knew what to expect from the website.

If you are in the area and are thinking about it, you have to stop. Reservations are not really taken, but can be added to a list on busier nights I believe. It was just my wife and I so we sat at the bar right behind the kitchen (recommended).

What a special place! Seems like everyone who comes here knows chef Marshall and what a great chef he is. We had the crispy shrimp, the she crab bisque, the crab cakes, blue cheese filet, and each of the desserts that were on feature tonight. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Old fashioned was great too!! Can’t wait to come back ☺

Some of the best food we have ever had! Great ambiance, outstanding food, best service ever! Gem of a place! Chef Platter had grouper, scallops, and filet over garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Crispy shrimp is served over an incredibly delicious slaw. And the grilled Romaine was phenomenal! Abbi sure knows how to make a cocktail and Marshall is a proper artist in the kitchen!

Yup, diamond in the rough. What a great place, make it a destination in Door County.

Crab bisque, carlic beast burger, shrimp n grits, crispy shrimp dinner ...4 older dudes and 5 stars from all.

Met the owner Marshall, served by Melissa so in summary great place, great food, amazing service., ask for Melissa!

Amazing food in a tiny restaurant. You can watch the chef make your food. Alexa was a super helpful and knowledgeable server. We will definitely be back!

Awesome food, drinks, and service. We left a text for a seat which worked out perfectly. The crab fritters were excellent also as an appetizer. Outdoor and indoor seating was available our choice. We love our desserts so the only complaint was that they only had one dessert choice "Key Lime pie."

Best cuisine around! Had the best fried lobster for a starter. Then for entree a prime filet Cajun style and my partner had a citrus grouper. All was fantastic! 5 star in a dive bar! Suggest you get there early or call ahead.

My husband and I have had the fortune to experience many great tastes from coast to coast and abroad. We want to say THANK YOU to Chef Marshall and the entire Skaliwag team for making this (what my husband calls) the best culinary experience we have ever had! Damn…So good! We dined here on a Sunday evening. It was not very busy so we ordered and ate quite quickly. Best scallops we have ever had. Bartender and chef was so kind. Great to meet them! Did not disappoint!

The BEST meal I have ever had! ( foodie and darned good cook here.) I was delightfully impressed by the food and the service of this little bar. I have dined at the finest in the Midwest, I have had none better! Perfection!

Food and service were amazing. Seating is extremely limited.; only three small tables and seating at the bar. We sat at the bar very close to the door during the winter. Every time the door opened, we were hit with cold air. That was the only downside. The food and service were worth it though.

This past week we stopped in on our way to Ephraim after hearing about the place from several people. I must say that it lived up to the hype. I enjoyed the simple chef made menu and the overall character of the building. Marshal explained the menu thoroughly so that we could make the best decisions. We ordered the crispy shrimp to start, the Bleu fillet, and the sea bass. Oh, and a delicious brandy sweet old fashioned. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. This is a must visit and worth a drive to experience this restaurant and the rest of the nearby shop and brewery. I will definitely be returning and telling people about my experience.

We had an Excellent dinner 🍽 and experience 😋. I had T-bone and wife had filet and Cajun shrimp.
Only downside, wish they had House Salad 🥗 before steak.

Five star dive bar! I drove 40 minutes from Green Bay based on a friends recommendation. Chef Marshal and his crew did not disappoint! We will definitely be back for more.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, and amazing drinks and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. I can not wait to try the desserts next time. I recommend to everyone! I can not wait to come back here again and again.

We got there at opening (4:30) only to get the last table. By 5, our drinks were served and the menu was described IN DETAIL by the owner Marshall. Service was impeccable and the food came out with exceptional timing. I cannot imagine better service and quality of food from the nicest places we have been. I cannot wait to return but will do so with a reservation based on popularity and small seating space. This sour beer was one of the best I have found.

It is what the sign says...5 star dive bar! The food is upscale hotel fine dinning style. Presentation and taste was amazing. Chef Marshall and his protégé, Ethan are top knotch! We really enjoy this place and highly highly recommend.

Took a group of out of town guests to Son of Skaliwags and we were all treated to a phenomenal meal. Son of Skaliwags has great atmosphere it seems like everyone there is in a good mood. Friendly and attentive staff and great food. Can’t beat that.
