There is no rooms, you camp with tents and firewood Is available at all times and you will hear the river and its peaceful and the owner and camp help is awesome. You can camp below or at the top. Nice areas and trash cans available too.

Took my 13 year old son up here for the weekend. I’ve been wanting to check it out for some time, and the entire experience was even better than I expected. Lane runs a chill, mellow, festival - community vibe space. He was always just an email away, and spent plenty of time hanging around to make sure my kiddo and I were well taken care of. The longer river float was one of the most peaceful days spent on a river (okay - minus the appalachiarantulas lol) and the spot we camped, just on the other side of the river, was quiet and calm. Lane took plenty of time to make sure we had everything we needed, including safe places to camp and chill, dinner recommendations, and some great conversation. If you’re looking for a grassroots place to truly relax away from the hustle of state park camping, you’ve got to check this place out. We will definitely head back up to hopefully enjoy some midsummer tunes, maybe some yoga with a new yoga friend (Alicia everywhere we go, there we are!) and overall tap into the mellow nature that surrounds the land and the spirit of Jessup Mill. Thanks for such a great time you guys!

Last minute camping trip. Nice out of the way spot. Spent both nights listening to the water flow over the dam and the wildlife. So nice not to hear traffic, industry, or other noises. Some really neat camping options on the hill. Caretaker was very nice and helpful. Very laid back and casual place. Campsite is designed for campers to interact with other campers. Has running water, firewood, three bathrooms with showers. We brought our dog and he was welcome.

We went tubing, took the 3 hour float! The staff was friendly and got us right out on the river. The Dan river here is wonderful. Almost trash free and clean . Rock formations all along the trip. With a few small rapids. The river was NOT crowded. We had it to ourselves , the entire float. It's a remote float , but worth the ride to get to Stokes County. I cant wait to go again!!

My friends and I were looking for a place to go tubing from Raleigh and chose this one on the basis that you can make reservations from their website and they had great reviews. Andrew was really helpful in responding to my questions regarding the water level and helping us to make the decision to drive out from Raleigh.

We had a great time, the river is beautiful and everyone was very friendly. The Mill is also a very beautiful old building. Since they seem to cater towards families rather than large groups, the river was peaceful and felt secluded.

We will definitely be back sometime for the camping and live music (and more tubing of course)!

Great atmosphere!! Lance was not only helpful, he was super nice guy. They weren't calling for rain, but we had a quick downfall and he made sure our stuff didn't get wet as we had just unloaded the car. We made new friends by the campfire. The river was great can't say enough good things. Great price!! Thank you for the memories!

We made reservations for a Saturday to tube for 4 people. Their website for making reservations was down so I posted a question on their facebook page. They answered within a few hours and even called me to make the reservation. When we showed up, we were greeted and since we were a little nervous about the river current, they were quick to explain everything and they even let us check the river out before we paid. This place is very clean and nice, great people, great tubes and such an amazing experience. They also have picnic tables for you to bring your own lunch and they hold your keys for you so you don't lose them in the lake. At $5 a person for the short run and $10 a person for the longer run, Jessup Mill will definitely be a place we visit often in the summer!

Jessup Mill is a unique location that will appeal to just about anyone!

After stumbling across it in a web search and reading about the options there, I made a reservation and hoped for the best. My expectations were met and easily surpassed! You could not ask for a better place or better people to spend time with.

It's little things that make places like this the best... like having the owner call you to see if all is well and you'll be able to make it after getting a late start... Being greeted with a huge smile and handshake rather than as $$ waiting to be parted.

The deck camping is AWESOME! Like being in a tree house without the ladder! Overlooking the ground camp sites and the venue's stage area was great. The kids camped on the ground while the big kids camped above! Each deck is large enough for a family tent, cooking gear and 6 people without stepping on one another.

Save for the occasional Harley or car buzzing by, you are removed enough from the city to forget your cares, but Pilot Mtn is close enough for a bite for lunch after hiking or the "emergency" run to the store for what ever you might have forgot to pack.

The kids spent the days investigating the trails, the dam, the river and their favorite.. the fishing. Even with the river up as high as it was, they managed to haul in "record" catches! So despite the river being a bit too high to safely tube, they had a unforgettable weekend!

For the ladies... the facilities are great! Immaculate individual bathrooms with clean, new showers and although it was way too hot outside for me to use it this weekend, generous hot water!

We're eagerly awaiting the new schedule to plan our next outing! Come visit Andy and everyone out at Jessup Mill... you will not be disappointed!

Andrew is very nice and welcoming. Great place for camping and tubing. The long ride is definitely worth it if you have 4-5 hours. Otherwise the short run is great too!!

This was our first family camping trip and we had an absolute blast! Andrew, the owner, was so nice and made us feel at home as soon as we pulled up! I wasnt sure about the community camping but the first night it was just us and the second night a small group came and were nice enough to give us some ice for our Captn and Coke! Andrew played fooseball with my son while he worked around the mill! My favorite was the river tubing ride - it was relaxing enough for us to enjoy but still enough of an adventure for a 6 year old not to get bored! We will be back next month for sure!

We had a magical weekend at this campground due to the location, the friendly and accommodating owners, and also the awesome weather! We had called around last minute looking for camping around Greensboro but all the campgrounds were booked up but we were able to reserve a spot easily on their website. The area is quite beautiful with the river and the dam adjacent to the campground along with the quiet tobacco farms that you're allowed to explore. We had booked one of their communual camping sites but we opted for one of their platform sites which was like sleeping in the treetops. The top platform will have wildflowers growing very soon and will make it especially beautiful. Definitely will be back to the area!
