Cowpokes Restaurant

This is one of those classic and timeless diners you hope will be around forever! It brings me back to my childhood in the 80’s riding cross country in an eighteen wheeler with my dad. Every truck stop back then had an amazing diner like this one! The food is great, the service warm and friendly, the coffee cup stays refilled. And there’s plenty of parking for hungry truck drivers!

Husband and I stopped on return to MO from AZ. It was a long trip bidding his mom farewell. There was a peace in the restaurant for us. We were able to sit in a corner, and the friendly waitress had the perfect amount of interaction and presence.
We both had the Western Omelette. I special ordered mine and they were very kind about it and it was great! The sausage in mine tasted really good, not like a typical greasy somewhat fake meat you usually expect and get.
We skipped on bread choices, due to GF issues. But the omelette was plenty of food!
So glad we stopped. Blessings on this little treasure of a place.

W always leave very satisfied. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious. I order the Chicken Fried Steak and I am NEVER disappointed. The service is great too. The atmosphere is calm, rustic and inviting. Everytime we drive through Weleetka, we HAVE to stop at Cowpokes.

Good place. I stopped for breakfast heading back home. Got the "Belt Stretcher"(omelette, biscuit and gravy, and home fries). Great service, good food. Biscuit was very soft and good. Omelette was big size. Home fries were okay, I like them cooked more and seasoned more, but that's just me.

I had the hamburger steak with mushrooms, onions and gravy. Mashed potatoes with gravy and sweet peas. It was awesome.

What a great place to stop for a bite! *Everything* that came out of the kitchen looked yummy. Very polite staff. Bathrooms were super clean - if you're traveling the interstate and need a meal and a bathroom break, this is the place.

Oh 👏 wow! What a wonderful Hidden Gem! This place is the place for home cookin!! Mighty portions. Plenty of food. The iced tea was weak but i like strong tea,tea, it probably was just me.. Price is pretty typical but not pricey by no means. Waitress was awesome. She made sure had what we needed and checked on us to fill our glasses. We will be back.

Really enjoyed it. BBQ sauce was amazing we bought a 16oz container to take home it was so good. lol

Sever was awesome, never ran out of sweet tea. Food is homemade. Bacon cheese burger and chicken fry steak sandwich with homemade onion rings. Yummy!! Shhhh....truck parking in the back. Yep plenty of truck parking. Thanks for a great lunch!!

Open at 11am on Sunday. Show up after planning to stop there to eat and they're closed!! Nothing else close by, so we wait. One star!

Update: Food and service was worth the wait. Super friendly servers. Tasty food, freshly prepared. We are very glad we opted to wait. All parties are full of really good, hot, home cooked meals. Five stars!

Classic diner, check. Friendly staff, check. Massive size portions, check. Delicious old fashioned cooking, check. My wife and I stopped by this quaint diner today and had some incredibly delicious food. If you are in the area, please think about supporting this local family owned business. You won't regret it and neither will your stomach.

The chicken fried steak was very good. The staff was very friendly. Glad it was open on a Sunday. A lot of place or not open during Sunday when everyone is going home from a road trip and looking for someplace interesting to eat.

Cowpokes seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere. It has easy access on and off the interstate. The waitress was friendly and courteous. The food was unexpectedly delicious and reasonably priced.

Chicken Fried Steak 😋 may not have been as big as their sign but it was "almost " as big as the dinner ...tender & delish !

Cowpoke cafe! We love it here!!! Great for the family, fantastic atmosphere and very nice people. The detour is worth the wild! Don’t miss it!
