Van Abel's of Hollandtown

Great atmosphere, friendly staff! Made reservations for tonight had a drink at the bar, ordered and was seated when onion ring app and salads came out.
Rings were lightly breaded and hot! Salads were very good as were the dressings we chose.
Steaks were cooked as ordered and scallops and cod were nicely cooked and very tasty. Basket of bread/buns with butter. Potato wedges were very good with a light breaded crust. Wasn't a huge fan of the green beans with bacon sauce. A little too different taste for us.

Rich with history and The oldest Wisconsin supper club, this is a must stop if you are in the Fox Valley/Green Bay Area.

They have 2 large bar/seating areas while you wait for your table(wi supper club tradition) and a game room area for the kiddos.

Service here is great! especially with the volume of people they serve day in and out.

Food is good, supper club fair. If your not sure what to have for fish on a Friday I would recommend the Fish Platter it has a bit of every thing.

The food is fantastic. Great place for banquets and holidays. Their chicken is legendary but my favorite is the stuffing.

Went there for fish Friday evening. We were greeted by a smiling hostess who took us in to a table as we requested. As soon as we put our menus down our waiter was there and took our order. The food was there fast. It was delicious and hot. Our waiter checked in with us to make sure everything was satisfactory. When we left he thanked us for coming out and said he hoped to see us again. As we passed the hostess she also thanked us. I don't think there is another place that makes you feel so welcomed and valued as a customers.

For our birthday, my sister and I wanted to see Van Abel's of Hollandtown as our parents used to come here for dinner, dancing, bowling and fun over some 85 years ago. I remember as a young girl having fun here with my cousins and enjoying the family style dining with my aunts and uncles.The place, (with some upgrades) immediately brought back many wonderful memories. Although the bowling alley is converted to a banquet hall, the layout remains the same.The food is just as delicious and plentiful as I remembered it so many years ago. Bring your hearty appetite as the Chicken dinner includes dressing, dinner rolls, cranberries, bean salads, regular salad, and many additional sides, including dessert, just keeps coming! The food is quality, quantity, and reasonably priced. There's something to be said about a restaurant that has been in business since 1848. My only comment is you are not allowed to take leftovers home so take only what you can eat. Hollandtown is approximately 30 minutes south of Green Bay and is certainly worth the drive to experience Van Abel's.

Van Abel’s catered our wedding in Green Bay in December. We got so many compliments on the food, even our local guests that knew Van Abel’s were so impressed with how fresh the chicken was. Our out of town guests called it one of the best wedding meals they have ever had! The service was great and the lines moved quickly. I would recommend Van Abel’s catering to any bride and groom!

This place is a community staple and a must dine at location. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is home cooked and has that comfort food feel.

I’ve been coming here for around 30 years and while there have been changes, it feels like the place is still the same as always (in a good way). Dining in can take a while to get seated, room for hundreds but not the kitchen or staff to support (necessary to accommodate weddings/events) but the food is awesome. The chicken, fish, steaks - all top notch. Sides are mediocre but that’s not why anyone goes. Great old fashions too. Takeout is a great option, usually takes one drink at the bar amount of time to get your food.

They catered our work Thanksgiving dinner and it was exceptional. Food was hot and cooked to perfection. Sheri and her team were very well organized and professional.

We were there for a benefit banquet. There were more people there than expected, but the staff handled it very well. The food was hot and the buffet was being replenished constantly. The staff at the bar were great and personable.

Chicken Booyah was plenty of chicken can I suggest you please put more veggies in it carrots, celery, potatoes ECT no mushrooms though 😎, Jacob was awesome as well, McKenna was a wonderful bartender too, Sharon let us know about the menu before we ordered our food. Remember the kitchen staff 💯👍 very appreciative of the cooks, and kitchen staff 💯. Very clean, and completely honest. Thank You we'll be back often. Thank you for being legendary restaurant 💯👍👍

UPDATE: (March 2018) Ate there again today with my kiddos and hubby this time. We ate so much. Our server Molly was fantastic! The food AGAIN was delicious. Still 5 stars.

We had Van Abel's cater our wedding in July and it was wonderful! The food was amazing; we got so many compliments on it from our family and friends. The team was so nice - never once did we have to worry about the food. They were also very helpful leading up to the wedding and answered any questions we had. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer!

Van Abels has the best food! Please come hungry and if you leave hungry that is definitely your own fault! Took my family of 9 out to dinner this evening and we had the chicken and cod family style. Everything was delicious and we all left stuffed! Not one complaint. Restaurant is always clean, super friendly and accommodating staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. Thank you for always being amazing! Love it here!

Van Ables catered our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made! Patty was great to work with throughout the entire process, and both the food and service were amazing. We also rented our table linens from Van Abel’s, and they were high quality and affordable. Out guests loved the broasted chicken buffet, and we saw multiple tables going up for seconds and thirds. 10/10 would recommend!

Van Abel's was great for our wedding in June! Everyone could not stop talking about how good the food was, especially the parmesan peppercorn chicken and the mac and cheese! They were so easy to work with from our first email inquiry to the day of and helped with any questions that we had. Everything went smoothly on the day of and we were so glad we went with them for our catering!

We could not have been happier with Van Abel's catering our January wedding. They were incredible to work with, easy to contact and timely in their responses, and overall amazing. The guests couldn't STOP talking about how delicious the Mac and cheese and chicken was, and didn't run into any issues with running out of food! They were on time and everything was set up and ready to go when we got to the venue. They provided a stress free experience for us and we truly enjoyed working with them. 10/10 would recommend them every single time! Thank you Patty :)
