Townsman Motel

Don't let the mediocre outside fool you. Inside this place was immaculate and very clean. And not the slightest hint of old smoke. New paint, newer carpet, new fridge and microwave, perfect AC, instant hot water. I don't recall EVER having such a good place at this price point. I don't mean to say that it compares to a new Marriot or Hampton, but for an older (refurbished) place, hats off to the owners.

What a pleasant surprise. This property's ownership has maintained and kept the room I had in excellent condition. The bedding was updated, and the room was very clean. A lot of lighting options highlighted the care taken to keep this older roadside motel sparkling. After a 2 week stretch that has put me in Marriott Boutique Hotels in Washington DC to several budget (only option in town) low-end chains, I was very pleased with my experience, as the length of my review would suggest.

I thought this was a great little Motel. First looks when pulling up gives you a little concern about the safety and cleanliness but once we got into our room it looked pretty clean. Checked seams and no concerns of bed bugs which is a great plus right there! I felt it was a decent sized room. The beds and pillows were a little firm but everything worked perfectly. Nice cool AC and the mini fridge was a pretty big mini fridge. Direct TV and wifi were a nice little plus. I really liked it here. If we ever come back through we'd definitely stay here again. Only stayed one night but I definitely think this would be a good extend stay option too.

First time stopping here on our trips to CO. Older motel, but was clean, convenient and cheap, like me. King bed was comfortable, towels weren't ratty. Dog friendly. All rooms on ground floor and opened onto parking lot. I will stay here again.

Clean room, clean linens, comfy bed, nice TV. They have coffee ready for you in the office in the morning. I enjoyed the big plants in there too. Overall, a great place to stay when passing through.

It's in walking distance to Love's too which was extra convenient.

This is a great little hotel and on the way to almost anywhere if you like to get off the Interstate and take the smaller highways. I did a lot of back and forth and always stayed here since it was right on the middle of a 17 hour drive.

Good food choices nearby. Limited but good.

I definitely recommend but make sure to book in advance since they always seem to fill up. The front desk is 24x7 and I've rolled on after midnight and had no issues checking in.

This motel may look a little sketchy to stay at but, the rooms are actually very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The wifi is good and the staff is respectful. I slept so great. If you’re needing a place to stay in such a remote place and don’t want to spend a pretty penny, I would recommend this.

The Townsmen Motel is a “gem in the rough”! Staff was very helpful & informative. Check-in was a breeze. The rooms were very clean…sheets & linens were white as snow and the shower had instant hot water! Will definitely stay again when in the area!

There aren't many options for places to stay in the panhandle, but that doesn't mean you can't find a clean place to stay. Based on the reviews, we decided to give this place a shot, and we are glad we did. From the outside, it looks a bit run down, but the rooms are clean. Overall, I have no complaints whatsoever, and if I found myself in this area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Such a cute place! I loved the retro feel of it. The room was very clean; had no musty smell or anything off-putting. The bed was very comfy. Friendly service who made it very easy to check in, even after hours. I would highly recommend to anyone who is traveling through Boise City.

Every once in a while you find a gem in a small town motel. This is one. Clean modern rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean and usable bathroom. Nice price. We will definitely stay here again!

Look, this isn't the Ritz, so by giving it 5 stars I'm rating it based on my expectations, not by how high class and glitzy it is.

We rolled into town after 8pm and the woman came to the counter within a minute of my hitting the "after hours" bell. She got us checked into a room, answered all my questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very nice and pleasant and made me happy I was staying in her hotel.

The room was great for what you might expect from a roadside motel and I would absolutely stay here again and am happy to recommend this place. The room is nice and clean, the carpet is nice and doesn't make you wish you wore socks instead of going barefoot. it doesn't have that old must smell some places have. You can tell they clean in the corners and take care of the details.

The bedding was nice and clean.

lots of outlets and USB ports, all of the appliances (small fridge, tv, microwave) worked fine and were in nice shape.

We enjoyed our stay and expect you will too.

Older Motel but it's a great location one of the better ones in town.it fills up fast . Cable tv. Wifi clean bathroom .safe parking. It's not the Ritz .but it's a good sleep.

We were VERY pleased with our stay at the Townsman Motel. We were wanting to stay as close to the Black Mesa as possible, so we could hike first thing in the morning. The Townsman far exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. But most of all the check in staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at Townsman Motel on my way from Oregon to Texas. Excellent mom and pop motel. The room was very clean, it was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the staff was super friendly. Wifi, fridge, microwave, electrical plug-in's, AC, and other modern amenities all in great shape and working perfectly. They had plenty of parking for my 20+ foot trailer. I have zero complaints. I had pizza from Godfather's Pizza in the truck stop across the street and it was actually really good too.

Good road trip stop over. You have to get off the main highway and into the town but access is easy enough. Exceptionally clean for this type of motel! The building is really old, but obviously is being maintained. The TV and A/C unit in my room looked to be brand new. Fridge and microwave weren't brand new, but were clean and working properly. Linens and towels were perfectly clean. Good shower. Mattress looked pretty new, but was really firm. Check-in pretty good: had to ring the bell a couple of times before the clerk showed up, but she was friendly once she did.

We stopped on our way home from Pikes Peak and then hiking Black Mesa.
We got 2 rooms our king looked recently renovated. Fresh paint, new furniture, new tub and surround. Pristine white linens and towels. Even the outside including parking lot were spotless! Great price. Excellent wifi and lots of hot eater for our weary bodies.

Great place to stop for the night just passing through on way home. Doest look great on the outside but best place in this tiny town. Place is super clean & well maintained. Bit old but recently updated. I'd stay again. Authentic Mexican restaurant just a few blocks down rd.
