Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge Admin Building and Visitor Contact Station

One of the most accessible NWR locations in the state. Have spent several full days here at various times of the year and rarely run into more than a few people except perhaps on weekends when the weather is nice. Bird photographer's paradise, great fishing too. Also several locations that are perfect for launching a kayak or small boat.

I only live a hour away and had never been. Was definitely worth the visit!

Fantastic very rustic, wild, stark and beautiful wildlife refuge just a few miles off I-40. Was damaged by the floods of 2019 but coming back nicely. Many of the roads are packed dirt or gravel but the swamps, the fields, the stands of trees, wildlife and views of the Arkansas River and mountains to the south are absolutely stunning in a stark kind of way. Several bald eagle nests in the winter and countless deer, opossums, ducks, loons, cormorants, etc make this place an absolute gem!

Great facility. .I was involved in the initial clean up of the 2019 flood..very well organized & informative....A lot of work to be done yet but I'm confident it'll be back better than ever in time...

I would say this is a must see, the largest lily pads I've ever seen in my life.
